Something I like here is that a lot of the proteins are marinated/sauced, and the marinades are very tasty, although this does result in the bowls coming out really saucy when you add sauces and dressings on top of that. All of the poke I've ordered has come out delicious. The unagi in the unagi don was a little tough, but the other proteins seem to be good quality and the veggies are fresh. Even the small bowl is filling enough for a meal for me, and since most toppings are free, you can load up with the veggies you want. I never feel like they get stingy with the portions. I'm not super impressed with the other food besides poke. It's not bad but nothing special. The spring rolls were unoffensive but could've been grocery store frozen spring rolls, and were only served with the duck sauce packets you get with Chinese takeout. The caramel pudding was okay but the texture was a little grainy. They have really good drinks if you know what to order. Some of their bubble tea is just the basic flavoured stuff, but the fancy-sounding teas - anything from the specialty drink series or pure tea series - are really good. They do run a bit sweet and I'm still not sure if you can adjust the sugar level. Maybe I'll remember to ask next time now that I've written it down. The staff here are nice, and the assembly-line ordering for the poke means it's very fast to grab food here. They take a little longer to make drinks but they're still usually a little faster than most bubble tea places in town.

It's a reliable place if you're craving something quick, customizable, and satisfying. They also have a wide selection of boba drinks with lots of different flavors, which is great in terms of variety. That said, I found the drinks to be a bit too sweet for my taste, and it would be great if there were adjustment options available. That's really the only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5. Still, a great option in Bloomington for both poke and boba - just be mindful of the boba if you do get it here.

Overall, happy with my delivery that I received from Mr. Tokyo…read more I was really craving some katsu curry, and ginger salad. The normal place I get it from does not do delivery on DoorDash, but I stumbled across Mr. Tokyo to get it from. The food arrived, and I was very impressed by the packaging of it all. The salads were secure, and the katsu curry was plastic wrapped to make sure transport was good- shows me the restaurant cares. The ginger salad- let me say, I was pretty disappointed in it. Normally, I love ginger salads (so much I ordered two of them). The lettuce tasted fresh, but the ginger dressing was bland, and very runny. So much so the dressing really didn't stick to the lettuce. 1/5. The pork katsu curry was great. The pork cutlet was crispy, and the curry was packed full of vegetables. The curry had great flavor. The rice was a great addition. 4.5/5 Overall, would give them 4/5- I was really looking forward to the ginger salad but was disappointed. The pork katsu curry made up for it though.

However this last time we came in, there was NO one at the counter to take our order, NO one to greet us when we entered, NO one even paying attention to the door. There was a gentleman in the back area prepping. He went to go find someone to help us, after about 5 min a guy came from a back room pointing to the kiosk directing us to order and pay there. I asked if he could take the order to make things easier, he said no... I get this day and age where convenience matters. I still would like to think customer service still matters and should take precedence. I enjoy poke bowls, but will have to find another establishment to invest our money in. Just sad. I give 4 stars for the food. Customer service is not good.

I recently tried Slap's Fish Market and sampled a little bit of everything--lobster roll, burrito,…read morecheesecake, and their lobster deviled eggs--and overall it was a really memorable experience. The service was very helpful deciding what to order. The setting was fun down town indanopolis feel. The lobster roll was definitely the standout. It was packed with fresh, flavorful lobster and had a nice balance of buttery richness without feeling too heavy. You can tell the seafood is high quality, which makes a huge difference. The lobster deviled eggs were super unique and honestly one of my favorite bites. Creamy, slightly tangy, and topped with lobster--it's not something you see everywhere, and they executed it really well. My husband tried the shrimp burrito, which was great for a seafood spot. It was hearty, well-seasoned, and filled generously. It didn't feel like an afterthought on the menu. To finish, the cheesecake was a great choice it was from the cheesecake factory is what the offered for my birthday smooth, rich, and just the right level of sweetness with a strawberry topping to end the meal without being overwhelming. Overall, Slap's Fish Market delivers on both creativity and quality. It's a great spot if you want fresh seafood with a few fun, unexpected twists. I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu.

Not gonna lie, my work group really likes coming here when we have lunch outings. My only problem?…read moreI very much dislike seafood to any capacity. Yet, I still eat here just fine. I feel like most seafood places will have vegetarian options by way of removing the fish from pasta dishes or salad, but it's also nice to know that you can get chicken as a substitute on most of these kinds of dishes, too. Granted, it's just like chicken tenders, but still good nonetheless. I really like their firecracker pasta, which is moderately spicy in my opinion. There's no particular fishy smell here, which is always a good sign that the seafood they serve here is freshly prepared. Our food always comes out quickly for lunch and we've been a group as large as 8 or 9. I do believe that ordering is mostly done online in their mass Ave location, though. I don't really seek out a place like Slapfish on my own (no offense at all, just not a seafood girlie!!), but I would assume that it's a rather popular establishment as they recently opened a fifth location in the greater Indy area. If I did like fish and such more, I'd probably be here on a more regular rotation.
