Make Create Your Own Poke - Reg Size

Sooooo so good, with very big portions too. The spicy is spicier than i expected but still not bad.

Regular size - tuna as the protein and house toppings

One of my most craved meals. I'm always down to order a bowl. Local owner Jasmine is very impressive and detail-oriented, as are her staff. The poke and toppings always seem incredibly fresh, and I'm in love with the menu offerings. While this was their first location, they now have a Carmel, Fishers, and Zionsville location too. (The Carmel and Zionsville locations also have authentic Hawaiian shave ice!) This location won a spot on Yelp's "top 100 restaurants in the US" in 2019 due to their perfect reviews. They were the only restaurant in Indiana that made this list. Very impressive. This time around, I ordered a regular-sized bowl via the online delivery system on their Yelp page. It came quickly and was well-packaged. I went with one scoop of marinated tuna (raw) and one scoop of spicy tuna (raw on my bowl. I'm not usually a fan of spice, but the flavor is so good that I do half and half. I always get a base of half brown rice and half lettuce, as well as the Ali'i Poke (House Version) toppings. They include edamame, cucumber, pickled ginger. seaweed salad, watermelon radish, avocado, unagi sauce, and creamy miso sauce. It's all soooooooo good. Not a raw fish fan? They also offer cooked shrimp and tofu, or you can opt out of a protein topping and load it up with fresh veggies. You'll love it no matter what!

I can't believe I had never been to Ali'i Poke before now! I have been a huge fan of Poke Bowls in the last couple years, but I always struggle to find one that's exactly what I want. I am a fan of any place that lets me customize my bowl to the way I like, but it's safe to say that the employees at Ali'i Poke know how to add an extra touch to make it extra enjoyable. I got a bowl with white rice and spicy tuna as my base. Let me just say that they LOADED my bowl up with both rice and tuna. It's refreshing to go somewhere where they are not trying to cheat you on the most filling part of the meal. It was undeniably the best spicy tuna I've had at a poke place. For one, it was actually spicy!! Two, the texture was perfect. Not too chewy, but not too jelly-like either. It's hard to get that perfect intermediate when it comes to tuna, but they succeeded. For the toppings, I tried their pickled cucumbers, and was blown away! I also got my usual poke toppings such as avocado and green onion. One thing that really sets this place apart from others is that their vegetables are consistently chopped to about the same size. I hate when I eat a poke bowl where one piece of onion is giant and one is teeny tiny. I like the size of the vegetables to be consisted so that the taste of the bowl is consistent throughout my meal. It's safe to say that they met that quirky expectation of mine. I finished the bowl toppings with the spicy mayo, sriracha, and furikake. I am just still so blown away but how delicious my meal was. The best part was that I actually had leftovers to enjoy the next day! Price wise, I will admit that it is pricy. However, considering both the quality and quantity of food, it's right around where it needs to be. I would absolutely pay to go there again, and it's definitely my favorite poke place in Indy now! Employees were so kind. Chris J. created me and my boyfriend's bowl and answered all my questions efficiently. Him and another employee seemed to be getting a lot of mobile orders, so I am sure they're always busy. Despite that, the restaurant was pristine, and it's clear they put effort into their work. We ate on the patio and brought our dog. The vibes were so good as it was an evening on a warm day! We got to watch the sunset as we ate our dinners :)

Enjoyed a delicious poke bowl and soup. I'm a fan of sashimi and found their salmon to be fresh and the marinade had a nice flavor. The rice was decent and I lightened my bowl by getting half rice and half lettuce as a base. They offer lots of topping options. But in the end it's all about the sauces for me. The unagi/eel sauce was sweet and tangy and the spicy mayo had a really nice kick. It was cold out so soup sounded good. Glad I added a cup of the miso because it was tasty...Had a nice amount of tofu and wasn't too salty. Topped it all off with some fresh squeezed lemonade. It was very sweet but had a tartness to balance it out. Service was great! Will definitely come back to the 10th St location.

Guava Nectar and Strawberry Orange aloha drinks posed next to bowls of poke, both are the house version order!

Amazing service! First time ever having poke and it was SO TASTY! Highly recommend the Strawberry Orange Aloha Maid drink too. Nice and quiet, hanging out with my friend, wonderful place!!!

    Create Your Own - Large

If you love poke and are looking for the most bang for your buck then this is the spot for you! A large comes with 3 big scoops of rice, 4 scoops of protein (recommend spicy tuna/marinated salmon) and there's no limit on the toppings you select. My wife and I typically share the large which speaks to its size, but if you order the large just for yourself then you should expect leftovers! They continue to expand to different parts of the city, so whether you're downtown or on the north side you should be able to support them! Disclaimer - Champagne sold separately... not at Ali'i Poke haha

We LOVE this place!! Went to Hawaii a few years ago and fell in love with poke' bowls. Was delighted to find this place and get a taste of the islands. Staff is super nice and helpful. Offered me low sodium options which I appreciated. You can order a specific bowl or let them know each item that you would like as you go. Not overwhelming at all, perfect amount of options. Food has always been fresh and oh my stars, SO GOOD!!! At first I didn't think it was a large portion but part way through I knew it was more than enough! They have drink options but I always get the water that has lemon-free and free refills. The price is great too and the parking is right outside the door, when construction ends it will be in front and behind.

SOO glad to have this yummy poke addition to the downtown Indianapolis area! Their selection of raw protein is always fresh (as is their vegetables and toppings), and they also have tofu and shrimp for those who aren't a fan of raw seafood. I always order the "Create Your Own" (CYO) poke bowl where you have an option to choose limitless amount of toppings, but they also have a variety of House poke bowls which you can select from. I also highly recommend their Mango Sweet Rice for dessert or their hot Miso soup. The Miso soup is interestingly from a machine, but it tastes exactly like the miso soup at fancy Japanese restaurants - they also throw in some green onions and tofu from their toppings bar to make it perfect! They remain open for take-out and delivery during the Stay At Home order, so make a stop in and you won't regret it.

For about $12 u can have a meal for 2 days. My create your own has :Spicy Kani, spicy tuna, scallions, pineapple, avocado, sushi rice, crunchy onions, unagi sauce and spicy mayo sauce. I'm really picky and this combo scared me but it tastes so good! Service is always nice and I love that I feel healthy when I eat it haha.

Efficient crew. Clean place etc. But the poke? Top quality. Tons of ads ons at no extra charge, mango, avacado, seaweed salad, to name a few! Brown rice! I got the marinated salmon and octopus-- wonderful. My only critique/ suggestion... please add Yellow Tail. Keep up the great work!

Does this place has regular bowls and plates? Or only the single-use ones?

I've only seen single-use bowls here, I don't think they have reusable bowls.

The lobster roll was soggy and honestly? Too much. I prefer a classic lobster roll - warm, lobster, bread that still has a little crunch to it (just the tiniest bit), butter - but not too much. This was soggy and the celery situation took away from the essence of a lobster roll for me. I've never liked the lobster salad rolls, and I did make sure there would be no mayo - but I think this was a bit much. Too much butter. Too many toppings. The flavor wasn't amazing. My dad really liked the perch. So much that he didn't let me try it. Lol but it looked good! The fried okra was solid. Kinda hard to mess that up, so no complaints there. Same thing with the fish tacos as the lobster roll. They're very busy. I like tasting my food - not piling the toppings on so things get lost. So, I scraped pretty much everything off. The fish was good! I got my mom the fried oysters. No complaints. Her meal came with two sides, so I got greens and Mac and cheese. I didnt try the Mac, but they said the greens were top tier. They had a nice flavor, but they're spicy - so avoid them if you can't deal with a lot of spice - probably red pepper. They threw in a crab cake for free and I thought that was really sweet of them. I didn't like the way it looked on the inside, so I only nibbled at it. Definitely not what this Maryland girl is used to... the winner is still Commisson Row on crab cakes in Indy so far. Anyway! Cute little tucked away spot, small parking lot, but spacious inside. Quite a few tables and chairs and fresh seafood in the cases. I'd go again and try some different things based on other reviews.

Now, to be entirely candid, the building itself looks a touch weathered at first glance but once you step inside, the décor is absolutely flawless. Being from Orange County, I have been on an absolute crusade to find genuinely authentic, coastal-caliber seafood since arriving here, and let me tell you, the search is officially over! The arrival was completely seamless, thanks to a sweet little dedicated parking lot, and the exterior of the venue is just as cute as a button. The moment I crossed the threshold, the lovely cashier greeted me with the warmest energy and elegantly walked me through the day's catch. What truly blew me away and frankly, brought a little tear to my eye was the sheer depth of knowledge and passion they share about their sourcing. They explained exactly where the fish came from and how it was caught with such beautiful, undivided commitment. That level of bespoke service is precisely what turns a first-time guest into a lifelong devotee. I opted for a Fish Taco prepared with a brilliantly unsalted catch, and it was an absolute revelation. The fish was incredibly soft, delicate, and practically melted in my mouthnot a hint of chewiness in sight. It was simply bursting with that clean, ocean-fresh flavor. A flawless, five-star experience across the board for the taste, the charm, and the beautiful soul of this place. I shall most certainly be making this a regular stop on my lunch rounds!

We ordered the lobster hoagie and hush puppies. Both were... fine. Not bad, but nothing that wowed us or justified the anticipation. The flavors were there in a basic sense, but it all felt a little underwhelming for a spot that's billing itself as a seafood destination. What really got me was the market side of things. The seafood on display just looked sad not fresh, not vibrant, not the kind of stuff that makes you want to throw something in a bag and take it home to cook. I fully understand we're landlocked in Indiana and truly fresh seafood is a challenge, but if that's your entire concept, the product has to be able to hold its own. I feel like most seafood places will have vegetarian options by way of removing the fish from pasta dishes or salad, but it's also nice to know that you can get chicken as a substitute on most of these kinds of dishes, too. Granted, it's just like chicken tenders, but still good nonetheless. I really like their firecracker pasta, which is moderately spicy in my opinion. There's no particular fishy smell here, which is always a good sign that the seafood they serve here is freshly prepared. Our food always comes out quickly for lunch and we've been a group as large as 8 or 9. I do believe that ordering is mostly done online in their mass Ave location, though. I don't really seek out a place like Slapfish on my own (no offense at all, just not a seafood girlie!!), but I would assume that it's a rather popular establishment as they recently opened a fifth location in the greater Indy area. If I did like fish and such more, I'd probably be here on a more regular rotation.
