Sugared + Bronzed is a no-frills place: you either get sugared or spray tanned. I've been here twice and will definitely come back again! You're in and out in less than 20 minutes. The last time I was here, I had Marisha as my "sugarista." She is sweet, quick, knowledgeable, and above all she makes you feel extremely comfortable even though people wouldn't normally consider sugaring the most comfortable experience. At the end of our session, she had recommended different things I could use to exfoliate and how to not irritate the area - she didn't push me to buy anything. Every tan I have had here has been flawless. The girls are so sweet up front, the studio is chic and clean, and they are always on time. Staff was super friendly and knowledgeable about any questions I had, the service was fast, efficient and the beautician made it as least painful and not awkward at all. I did the new client special (two sugaring sessions for $49) and it was definitely worth it! I've only gotten waxes before and - not going to lie - the first time I got sugared, it hurt like hell. But I think my hair grew back less. The second time was less painful for sure and the aestheticians are super friendly and nice. If you can get over the pain, I think this is a better alternative to waxing. They recommend you go back every four weeks because if you wait longer, the hair root has more time to heal and it will hurt more the next time you get sugared. Overall, the space is very clean and the ladies there are professional and nice. They have a very easy and user friendly system to book appointments. Parking can be dicey. I've only gone in the evening, and there is free metered street parking after 6pm and I've never had a problem finding a spot, but just allow some time to find parking. read more

I'm really scratching my head at all the 5 star reviews. Guessing that they are fake, purchased or incentivized as visiting S+B is not a 5 star experience. I am not a serial tanner, this was my first time having it done by someone else. Though, I have experience doing it myself at home. So, I have nothing to compare my experience to, and therefore feel quite objective. The waver already had me worried.... Let me start by saying that I requested the lightest, the absolute lightest they do. I didn't want to look tanned, I only wanted an even skin tone. I asked for a glow. If this was not possible, I would have hoped that the team would have mentioned that. They did not. They said the level 1 tan was the equivalent to a day in the sun. I didn't feel like the girl who did my tan was a professional; she seemed very young and as though she was reading from a script. The facilities were dated, run-down, and felt unclean with no covered space to put belongings. I will say that my technician and the staff up front were friendly. No complaints there. But my technician seemed hasty and impatient with me. She missed some drips that landed on my feet, which have now turned into dark, discolored areas. But the biggest thing of all is that I am CERTAIN that was not ther lightest tan choice. There is no way. I am dark orange today, the date of my black tie event. I simply do not trust Sugared + Bronzed to have my best interests in mind. I know about all the tips and tricks to help keep tan off the wrists and ankles, and I had hoped that since this was my first spray tanning experience, that the technician would have sprinkled in some of these pearls of wisdom; explained why the shower caps are there, what the barrier cream is used for, etc. I felt rushed out of there. And the kicker is that I feel really embarrassed about how I look now. My wrists, hands, ankels and a shins look as though I've been rolling around in dry dirt. I cannot believe that this is their lightest choice. I really can't. I've learned my lesson and will not be back for any more, even though I have another session paid for. read more

The staff is incredibly kind, made me feel so comfortable! I had a late night tanning appointment and my technician accidentally missed a spot. I realized the next day and I called the location, without me even asking they were proactive about offering a touch up and supporting me with additional services at no extra cost. They were really flexible with timing and in the touch up was seamless! Hands down some of the best customer service I've seen in a minute! My normal wax lady is on maternity leave, so I (at the last minute) had to find a new person before my trip. I found Sugared + Bronzed on Yelp and though I've never sugared before, they had an appointment the next day, so I booked. I've always been interested in sugaring, but heard terrible things about the pain. Kaitlyn (sp) was AMAZING. Normally, I hate a chatty aesthetician because you cannot distract me from the pain of you ripping my hair from my follicles, but for some reason-- be it the lack of pain or our insightful conversation-- I was distracted! In comparison to hard wax, sugaring takes a bit longer, but the results are worth it! Very excited to come back and see how my hair thins even more. Also, the jojoba/tea tree oil combo they use at the end is heavenly! *Disclaimer for my fellow coarse/kinky haired individuals -- I'd been waxing for about a year, so my hair was more sparse. First and last time, I came to the Beverly Hills location to get wax. First of, I was about five minutes late because of an accident. I needed the restroom and Jaqueline had an attitude when requested for the bathroom. When we were in the waxing room Jacqueline said we were already 1/2 through my appointment, and she said she was only waxing as much as she could because she didn't have more time to waxing. I initially went for Brazilian waxing but since Jacqueline was complaining about servicing me, I said to do bikini only. She for sure only wax what she wanted to wax because she left me so uneven, that I had to finish her job at home with an electric shaver because I had a flight to catch and no time to go back. She still had the audacity to say, "it'll be cheaper but I'm charging you an 18% gratuity". I thought "gratuity" was supposed to be optional because I wouldn't have given her a tip for her horrible attitude and horrible work. I visited this location last year for the first time, but have gone another time due to my first experience. Check-in process -- you should arrive at least ten minutes early to your first appointment for paperwork logistics to be seen on time. Otherwise, pop in, check in, and pop out! Sugaring process -- the first time: I had an amazing "sugarista" who was knowledgeable and friendly. In terms of pain, it's relative, so I flinched a few times, but got through it. It was super quick, too! Second visit: sugarista was amicable, but I definitely wanted the first Parking -- Very challenging to find parking on SMB during rush hour, but also, generally parking in LA is a challenge. I found free two-hour street parking nearby that was an 8 to 10 minute walk from the salon. Overall -- 4.8/5 due to crazy parking situation here. I would recommend their sugaring services! read more

Once you try sugaring you never want to go back to waxing! It still is somewhat painful but the results are way better! I have sensitive skin so I wouldn't recommend doing a brazilian or anything through a trainer as last time I did it for half of legs it took longer than an hour and the professional had to step in because I was in pain and sweating of them going over the same area or getting wax off me that kept dropping in other areas. The first time i ever went though I did a Brazilian with a professional at another location and she was really fast and experienced. I just wish it wasn't too fast as if they just want to get to their next appointment because sometimes once I closely analyzed myself there were a few areas missing. I will say I love their late hours, aesthetics and ability to text them! A friend had recommended me to it and I've talked to a lot of friends about it. read more

Once I tried sugaring I couldn't go back to a razor. This review may be TMI but it is helpful to know what the thought process is for a girl dealing with hair removal. There are so many options nowadays. Waxing, sugaring, laser hair removal. After doing some research I liked the natural ingredients used in the sugar mixture: just lemon, water, and sugar. Sugaring also does not involve heat and won't irritate sensitive skin as much. Sugared + Bronzed makes everything super easy. Booking online is easy and texts remind you about your appointments. When you check in you can use the bathroom before going into the room. Once inside you undress from the bottom down and they come in and tell you how to orient yourself haha. Luckily all the cosmetologists are super skilled and fast. The conversation can help distract you from the pain. The first time you go in is the worst but it gets easier and easier. I take a Tylenol or Advil 30 minutes before to help with the pain. The witch hazel and or tea tree do help afterwards. The tea tree burned a little but in a good clean way. The reward is smooth skin and very few ingrown hairs. Just make sure to scrub in the shower every other day to prevent in-growns. I joined the membership to get a lower price on my treatments. It saves you $10 by doing the membership. Definitely recommend if you plan on coming regularly. read more

I moved from Austin in 2018 and was in search of a go-to sugaring place. I happened to see S+B in an Instagram ad and have been going ever since. The staff is really nice and efficient, and I always feel welcome. There's free parking for two hours in the garage during the day, which is super convenient and ideal. I usually go to the Beverly Hills location, but have been to Hermosa and Santa Monica as well. They were doing a cool outdoor cabana idea in Santa Monica in 2020 during the pandemic. Their formula did not work for me at all! I tried their lightest color (my skin color failry light), as I wanted a natural looking tan. I followed all of their pre- and post-treatment procedures (I really liked that those are well documented!). The color came out quite dark and somewhat patchy... and lasted only 3 days, after which it came of in a very patchy manner... honestly, I have had great results with my bondi self-tanning mouse... might as well stick to that. I LOVE Sugared+Bronzed. Very professional, fun, friendly, and do an amazing job. I always love how my tan looks and would definitely recommend! At this specific location, street parking is the best way to go and just put some money in the meter. You will not be there for long, because they are very efficient in getting your tan done in an efficient manner. Additionally, they offer a buy one get one free for first time tanners! You have your choice of an express tan (shower after only 4 hours) or a normal air brush in which you wait until the next day to shower. I have been to many different spray tan boutiques and have never been as satisfied as I am here. I recommend the express tan, and it lasts around 10 days of you moisturize daily. read more

I loved my experience at this location. I found it on Yelp because I was looking for a sugaring place in LA, and it had great reviews/rating. They also have a new client special which drew my attention. The place is very clean and aesthetically pleasing. My sugarist was Lele (hopefully that's how her name is spelt) and she was very attentive to every detail. She would check in multiple times and ask if I was experiencing any discomfort as she herself knows that sugaring can be uncomfortable sometimes.
