Before visiting Blue Mercury in Brentwood, I read several disparaging reviews. So I was prepared to be treated poorly. The exact opposite happened. I was greeted by the store manager, Nicole and asked if I needed help. Nicole proceeded to assist me. She eventually asked makeup artist, Bata, to help me select a foundation for my difficult to match skin. Bata was absolutely fabulous. He found a perfect foundation for my dry skin with yellow undertones. He's knowledgeable, thorough, fun and handsome. I had a little crush on him by the time I left. The whole visit was so lovely. I will absolutely be shopping there again for my makeup and skincare needs. read more

SNOB ALERT Blue Mercury is a luxury beauty store that offers a wide range of high-end skincare, makeup, haircare, and fragrance products from popular brands such as La Mer, Oribe, NARS, and Jo Malone. They also provide personalized skincare consultations and makeup application services. I was on my way to a Yelp Event and not really looking for anything, but I knew I need a few items in my makeup arsenal like undereye concealer, some eye shadows, lipstick and lip liner. The staff were friendly for the most part with the distinct flair of highbrow snobbery. I was not all entertained by it and kept right on looking at the merchandise at hand. The first suggestion from one of the employees was of course the highest priced item that money could buy for ONE item. I then had to "train" them into a better path of thinking to work with me towards an acceptable outcome that encapsulates,,, problem + correct price = solution. read more

David and the girls at BlueMercury were so helpful patient and kind. I felt so comfortable to express my needs. I left the store educated and empowered with the tools to elevate my skin care routine. Thank you David for making the brick and mortar experience beautiful and inviting again. Kindest Regard, Nina Athina Pagan read more

Have had great experiences at Bluemercury stores. Not the one on San Vicente in Brentwood, though. With just one other shopper there, none of the four sales people seemed interested in helping me spend my money. In fact, they seemed downright uninterested in explaining why this serum or that cream was the right one, or addressing any of my skincare concerns. Was I not dressed expensively enough? Was it the post-workout wet hair? Whatever the reason, I took my wallet elsewhere and won't be back. read more

-5 stars if possible!! This location should not even exist. I stopped by yesterday at around 4-5pm, worst experience ever!! Lack of training is very obviously shown. No one here cares to make an effort in making any sales. I walked in no one so much as flinched. It was like I wasn't even a human!!! The stared and looked away . They are just unbelievably unmotivated and disinterested. There was literally like 5 workers and NO ONE bothered. I will never step foot inside the establishment. Completing against other high end shop ha! It's no wonder there was no one in store. read more

Horrible service from Botta ! Awful attitude and sense of urgency! Never coming here again.

Do not buy from Bluemercury. I purchased Supergoop sunscreen and it arrived with an expiration date within 5 months. I contacted customer service and they said they're not able to guarantee expiration dates, despite Supergoop saying it's usually 2 years. Apparently business is slow and they're selling old products. read more

DO NOT GO TO THEIR SPA!!!! The women who did my eyebrows made them uneven and BURNED me... I've had brow appointments all over Los Angeles, and nobody has ever thinned them out this much or made them this uneven... I left in tears. The pictures are from two hours after the appointment and the burn has started to blister. read more

I really liked Blue Mercury, however, I have a terrible experience with the sales person named David at the San Vicente location. He was VERY rude and I would never shop in that location again. read more

Their merchant system is really glitchy. Warning, my card was charged 3 times for one transaction on a Friday. I called that day to have the charges reversed, but nothing was reflected in my balance. I was told that only 1 charge could be corrected because the manager had already left for the day. Cool. I returned today (Monday) and was told that by Friday the money should be returned to my account? During the call I had to provide my card information again and wait for a refund to be processed? Today, no receipt or card was requested, just a claim that "maybe by Friday" the pending charges would reflect the correction. The money was removed immediately, but requires a week to correct? Unacceptable. Very disappointed. The card system was not functioning properly months ago (pre-covid) either. Due to the inconsistent handling of the correction I will not be shopping here again. Employees need better training and the system should be upgraded. read more

The ladies here are so sweet! I came to browse mostly but one of the girls helped me decipher between all the different products and though I have a regimen I was comfortable with, she talked me into getting something I feel enhances it. And what I thought I needed she didn't recommend and instead got something totally different than I was expecting. The store is clean, organized, and I'm looking forward to trying their facial services sometime! read more

Love this store!!!!! Erin gives the most amazing facials and her brow waxing is on point! The team at this location is so knowledgeable and friendly. They sell these M61 peel pads that will change your skin in amazing ways, they are a MUST have!!!! read more

This place had the worst service I have ever experienced from any makeup store. I was ready to purchase $400 worth of wedding makeup from the Bobbi brown product recommendations I got from another store. My 3 friends and I stood around around for about 10 minutes waiting for acknowledgement just so that I could buy the products off my list. Incompetent workers stood and huddled around and talked to each other the entire time without even saying a simple hello or acknowledgement. 5:30 on a Saturday, store wasn't even that busy. Honestly who is managing this place ? Please train your employees properly. Trash service. read more

Do yourselves a favor and treat yourself and go to see Erin here for a facial and/or wax!! She is beyond awesome!! She does such an absolutely amazing facial and definitely knows what she is doing. She's super nice, fun to talk to, and makes your visit an all around great and relaxing experience. I swear everything she does beyond the basic facials or waxing are all amazing. Erin is definitely one of a kind. I've been seeing her for a couple of years now and I will not let anyone else touch my face! She also hands down knows her stuff and will give you samples to try that are the perfect fit for your face. Trust me go see her for any service, she will treat you like a princess/prince! The place itself is SUPER nice too and has a very relaxing atmosphere and everyone that works there is very helpful and sweet. They literally have everything you could ever need in beauty products and people who are smart and know how to make you look beautiful. I popped in just minutes before closing one evening, and expected to be turned away. Nope! David, the store manager, welcomed me in and was so helpful and fun! I never felt rushed and he seemed genuinely interested in assisting me with finding just the right products. These days I usually expect to find associates on their phones, or chatting with one another. What a refreshing reminder that customer service DOES exist. Thanks, David, I'll be back soon! read more

This review is for the aesthetician named Erin Park. She did microdermabrasion and a glycolic peel on me and my skin looks fabulous! Make sure you book an appointment with her. I was very impressed by the service I received by Erin. She did a amazing job on my facial and waxing. I am always hesitant when it comes to putting new products on my face, because my skin very sensitive. But Erin reassured me that what my fear was will not happen with the products she will be using on me. We did the hydro facial and I will have to say that was one of the best facials I have ever had. My face looks and feels amazing. Also her waxing skills are on point. I will definitely come back to Erin. Erin you rock!!! read more

My first visit to Bluemercury will not be my last. What a wonderful experience! Today Lisa went to every possible effort to help me put together a gift. I was not feeling well, so she got me a chair and brought a selection of products to me, made plenty of great suggestions, then created a lovely presentation for the gift. From the moment I walked in, Lisa made me feel welcome and acted as though the extra effort required was absolutely fine with her. Her help made a huge difference in my day, and I can't recommend her and the store highly enough. read more

Horrible customer service unless you are a celebrity or friends with the manager or the employees. Employees play on their phones with the snapchat and whatever else with their friends instead of providing prompt respectful customer service. The best makeup artists always end up leaving because the manager and the few loyal employees get jealous of superior makeup artists. read more

I have to say that I had an amazing experience! I was lucky enough to have Erin take care of me. I'm new to getting facials and was a little nervous. She was so knowledgeable about every product she used and had an answer for every what, why, and where question that I asked her. Very nice person and I will be definitely sending my friends to see her. Thank you Erin. read more

One stop shop. Amazing. A friend referred me said it's like dermologica on steroids. And she wasn't lying. Plus they have spa services. Erin was magical. The queen of extractions. Long live the queen I say. I came in looking like a pizza and left feeling like a shiny new pearl. Her extensive knowledge of skincare and professional recommendations have changed my life. The m61 line destroys the competition. Thank you bluemercury thank you erin. read more

The new Bluemercury in Brentwood is amazing. The entire staff is so knowledgeable and so "into" make up - they know it all. I have struggled with my skin for years and they recommended some brands that weren't outrageously expensive, and my skin has never looked better. What a confidence boost. Great place for facials and waxing too - super professional. Even on a budget. Thank you ladies!! read more

Two stars for the product selection but oof, what a rude and unhelpful customer service experience with a woman working there this morning. Just wanted to return part of an order and she acted like I was putting her out. The poor operations systems in place at Bluemercury don't help (glitchy website, no order number on my packing receipt, being told that I'm allowed to keep the samples from my gift with purchase just this once - which my remaining items that I kept still qualified for. GTFO. I've spent thousands of dollars with this place since it was rinky dink boutique in DC). This woman didn't know what the requirements for an online return were and when I asked for a receipt, she says with a tude that she has nothing to do with that and I can call customer service myself. I'm not leaving without proof of return for a $170 unopened item, so I stood there in the store, called customer service MYSELF to have a receipt of the return emailed. I've worked retail and I would NEVER. To be honest, over the years and in multiple locations across the country, the service has been more snotty than not, but this was another level. And I get we're in tough times, but it was 10am and I'm the only customer in the store. No excuse to cop an attitude from the get go. read more

Treat yourself to a facial and/or any waxing and Erin's got you covered! Amazing products, amazing service and amazing person.

Had a facial last week with Erin and I needed to let everyone know how amazing my face looks. The spa is very relaxing and soothing. She made me feel very comfortable and my skin is glowing. After my experience I mentioned I needed a sunblock so Paulo (Store Manager) and Erin helped me pick out some products from their expansive collection of different skin care lines. GREAT STORE!!! Lots of different products!! I noticed they also sell make up and have makeup artists on staff. They carry my favorite brand Laura Mercier and I can't wait to go back to get another facial and my makeup done!! Thanks Erin had a great experience!!! read more

I absolutely LOVE Erin!!! She makes all of my wax experiences so great, and she is the sweetest ever. Love how personable she is. The best!!

I never thought I'd write a review for a store, but I did today. Ok, I've ditched Sephora ever since coming here. Seriously. And I still am (and soon it will be the past) a VIB rouge. Bluemercury has a great assortment of products that caters to more sophisticated and educated customers. The peel wipes of their signature brand M-61 is by far the best wipe-like peel I've ever tried and definitely better than doing microderm at a derm practice (unless you wanna do some sort of ablative laser or seriously skin resurfacing). The first time I came here was to restock my Oribe products. The staffs here are so nice- coz they know I travel a lot and I only use Oribe they gave me like 8 packs of Oribe shampoo and conditioner samples and some other samples depending on my need (like face wash and body cream). AND IT'S LIKE THAT EVERY TIME! One time I even got, what, at least a dozen packs of shampoo and conditioner. And my gosh, their goody bags- I've never had a goody bag with 15 products and besides one men's product, I actually LIKE everything in there! I'm just sorry Sephora- I can't go back to you after coming here, especially when you don't have M-61 and Oribe and La Mer. read more
