My girlfriend and I came in for a duo facial session, and while the staff was incredibly sweet and welcoming, the actual service results were deeply disappointing and concerning. My facial was a standard cleaning and extraction--nothing special, but fine. However, my girlfriend's experience with the Microdermabrasion was unacceptable. We suspect the esthetician may have been inexperienced or lacked proper training on the equipment. Microdermabrasion is supposed to have little to no downtime, but my girlfriend left the studio with what looked like bruises all over her face. Even after she explicitly told the esthetician during the treatment that it was hurting and felt "off," the pressure wasn't adjusted correctly. To make matters worse, it was clearly visible when we checked out, yet no one on staff said a word or checked in on her. Two days later, her skin began peeling heavily in the exact spots where the bruising was most intense. We appreciated the friendly energy, but it felt like the focus was more on being "salespeople" for memberships and products rather than the actual quality of the clinical work. Being "nice" doesn't make up for a lack of technical skill that results in skin damage. If you're going to charge premium prices for advanced treatments, the staff needs to be properly vetted to ensure they can perform them safely. read more

I read the reviews before I came for my facial, yet I STILL walked away feeling like I wasn't properly advised of the pricing and what to expect. So let me break it down. The facial is ~$145 a pop. For first-timers, there is a ~$31 discount. Each of the enhancements are an additional $80 apiece - no discount on those. However, when you book your appointment as a first-timer, the appointment system quotes you a discount of $70 and enhancements are half-off at $40 each. Then, when it's time to check out, you learn that's only the price if you sign up for their membership/subscription service of ~$115 per month. I believe there's a minimum commitment of 2 months or else 3 months. Obviously, this ends up being quite a lot more than anticipated. I ended up paying ~$120, which isn't crazy but is much more than the advertised price on Instagram. You can tap to pay or swipe. There is a $25 fee for last-minute cancelations. As far as the ambience and environment, this is an open space separated by partitions and curtains. Expect to hear a lot of the same upselling during your 55-minute facial. There's quite a lot of patrons on the weekends. No change of clothing, and not a place with complimentary snacks and drinks. Small parking lot in front with an outdoor seating area included. As far as the actual facial goes, it was a good-enough experience. I'd rate it a 3 out of 5 stars for the facial and overall. The creams felt nice and I do like how my skin feels afterward. No red spots, no irritation showed up until the next day, and the purging process can be annoying. At one point, though, I remember that I received a "head massage" which consisted of the specialist getting her fingers lost in my hair (and I had a hell of a time fixing the frizz in the restroom afterward). That was quite uncomfortable. Instead of a steam machine, they use a hot towel several times throughout the hour. At other places, the LED light or wand products are part of the facial - here, it's $80 extra and considered an "enhancement." In short, this place is intended for people who don't really know about skincare, don't have much of a routine, and/or have the money to spend on hyped-up products. They will educate you on a lot and make facials more feasible on a monthly or quarterly basis, kind of like how The Joint compares to a chiropractor or how Drybar compares to a full-service hair salon - it's more of a bite-sized version of the real thing. If you get facials often, this won't be the best experience for you and there is definitely no spa environment here. Instead of a blanket, they wrap the ends of the bed cover up around you. My specialist talked about products and enhancements for most of my appointment, at least until I made it clear that I wasn't interested. After that, she was just going through the motions and that was fine. My advice: ask about pricing early and often to avoid the bait and switch trick that others have complained about. I made sure to double-check the charge list when they rang me up, too, in case a membership was tacked on somehow. Oh, and expect 4-5 follow-up spam/sales emails after your appointment until you opt out two times. There are a TON of wellness spas and medical centers that offer this and more for a comparable experience in a much more relaxing setting. read more

Went to do a facial yesterday and let me tell you how highly disappointed I was So for starters after I left my nose and areas such as my T bone was still clogged. She didn't do a good job at extraction as nothing came out and I added a enhancement to my facial which was an additional $80 for literally nothing I got more of a expensive facial massage than an actual facial @which was highly upsetting. I got home did my own extraction for my nose and was just so upset of the fact I paid $214 total for a facial I never received. read more

I've never had a facial before, but came here to give it a try and see what my family was raving about! First off, the place is so cute. They have about 6 parking spots in the front which was nice. Their front desk area looked like an aesthetic Sephora shop full of products and the staff was super nice and friendly. If you're a first-timer, you fill out a pretty thorough form on an iPad with your facial goals, skin type and sensitivities. Then you wait for your skin therapist in their trendy outdoor patio. There are plenty of stalls inside, I was surprised by how many stations they had. My skin therapist was really nice and asked me my goals again and routine once in the chair. She was knowledgeable and educated me about the products going on my face and examining my skin for recommendations. It was such a nice experience, and the extractions weren't as painful as I thought. I liked all the products used during my session and felt like a glazed donut when I walked out. I enjoyed my experience here and would come back again, although I don't have many other facial places to compare it to. My only comment is that it's not as "zen" as I thought it would be. It was relaxing, but you can hear a lot of dialogue from other rooms and it's just a very open setting. We also did a fair amount of talking but we were whispering. This place is an absolute SCAM. Do not sign up for the membership under any circumstance. They make it seem like you can cancel at anytime (which you can according to the fine print) but once you ask to cancel the membership, fill out all the paperwork and sign a form you are still liable to pay for the membership. The front desk staff is not trained, they have zero communication skills and are con artists. Do not spend your money here. This is such a shame as Jordan who is an esthetician there is absolutely INCREDIBLE but the rest of the staff are manipulators and for that they have lost my business. read more

My skin was acting up recently and I got a few breakouts, that bothered me a lot. I felt self conscious and decided to book a last minute facial. This place is definitely more fast paced then your average beauty salon. The reception area is pretty nice, but there is not that much of relaxing atmosphere while you're getting the facial. Feels more like you're at the dentist. But I don't really care that much about that as long as my facialist is knowledgeable and gives me the right treatment. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. From the beginning I was saying that I want help with my breakouts and I was interested in some add ons and asked her what would she recommend. She started talking how they have this new awesome treatment hydro wand infusion. So I asked her why would I need it. Her response was, that it will give me GLOW. Hm, and the glow is going to help my breakouts how exactly??? It's just seemed like she didn't care about what I need, just did her usual thing and tried to push unnecessary stuff on me. Her facial massage felt pretty rough, rushed and without much technique. I added microdermabrasion and LED, so my facial turned out to be $275 before tip for roughly 1 hour. I felt like an idiot that just waisted money on the useless thing. Later I went to a different facialist in Van Nuys, which is a bit far away, but I got all of those things and more in a great facial that lasted 80 minutes for $150. read more

Very overpriced, not relaxing whatsoever, and extremely gimmicky. I went here for the first time bc my friend recommended it to me for a facial. My booking was for 2:10 and I arrived a few minutes after that, I was given a form to fill out which I quickly did and then waited for my esthetician. Once they came to get me and brought me back to the space she told me that our booking would no longer be for the 50 mins I paid for but instead 30 mins. I asked her why that is and if she had someone right after me, and she said she did but offered for me to come back HOURS later to get my 20 mins I paid for. I told her lets just start then please since my time is running down so quickly already. Im already pretty annoyed at this point. She continues to talk to me and ask me questions for an additional 5-6 minutes before starting on my face. She then starts on my face and automatically starts trying to upsell me on other services. I tell her I dont want anything else just my normal facial, (in my head Im thinking how does she have the time to give me these extra services if she claims my booking is now only going to be 30 mins bc of time.) She then tries to sell me on a membership which I was maybe interested in at first but after the whole experience I would never want to go back to them again. The facial space itself was extremely odd and not relaxing in any way, they have it set up as a large open space separated by curtains with bright beaming overhead lights all around you. In the space next to us I could hear loudly another esthetician with her client talking about someone else there. I tried to close my eyes to enjoy the services that I spent $115 on but before I can even start to relax it quickly ends. Afterwards she walks me out and tries upselling me on skincare products that I dont need or want and tries to tell me, a 25 y/o, that I should buy some expensive eye cream they sold bc, "You dont have crows feet now but in the near future you likely will, so you should start on that now." I dont buy anything and then check out with the front desk who gave weird vibes since I first checked in with them, and they ask me if I want to leave a tip. I leave a small tip bc I didnt get all my services and frankly was not at all happy with any of part of the experience. The front desk worker loudly asks me if thats the amount back as if I offended her, I say yes and leave. Never will be going back there and would not even recommend this place to someone I hate. read more

I'd say that if you are looking for a lot of extractions or a relaxing massage, this isn't the place for you. The "rooms" are partitioned with curtains so you can hear everything going on around you. Also, the chairs feel like you're at the dentist. It's not spa like at all so be warned. My only major complaint is that it's always cold!!!! Even though they provide a blanket make sure you bring a sweater. The staff is friendly and the prices are fair. I've seen a number of estheticians and they're all great. Great service, very informative during my facial, and very comfortable. 2 Downsides; I can hear other peoples conversations. It's all separated by curtains and not rooms. A day after my facial my face/ neck broke out in a rash. My assumption is the reaction to the ingredients in the product used on my face. Everyone reacts differently, that's just part of skincare. It was probably one of the worst break outs I've ever had. As much as I did like the place, I probably won't be returning for the reason of the skin condition I had after. I didn't have super high expectations because Heyday offers more of an "express" facial than a soothing, ultra private spa experience, but I was blown away. Parking: small lot with about 4-5 spaces, which were gone by the time I arrived. Luckily, free street parking wasn't hard to find on a Friday afternoon. Check-in: Front desk staff were super friendly, and their outdoor patio (their equivalent of a lobby) is adorable. As a new customer, I had to fill out a questionnaire about my skin, concerns, goals, etc., and it was the most thorough I've ever filled out...which probably explains why my facial was perfect. Facial: Don't expect meditative music or ultra privacy. The playlist is upbeat and modern. There are long, thick curtains that divide each facial station from the other, so you can hear others and they can hear you. However, it didn't detract from my experience. My esthetician Mackenzie was super kind, knowledgeable about my skin concerns (rosacea, sensitivity), and even dug down into my pores to get out gunk that they didn't even remove at my last facial last month (different business, not Heyday). I'm not a skincare newbie, so we were about to chat about different ingredients, and she even dropped some knowledge about ingredients I'd never heard before that might work for me. I ended up signing up for a membership on the spot, which is not at all what I expected to do when walking in (which was prompted by a discount offered by an influencer). They didn't push it on me, nor any products, but I was so impressed that I took the plunge. Stopped in here for a promotion, and decided to check out what a professional facial feels like. It's good, really good. Think I'm going to have to add this to my routine...kinda like a haircut. The vibe is clean, authentic, and friendly. This isn't a zone out zen music place, there's a great playlist and my skin therapist (I think that's what they're called) calmly explained every step of the process. Honestly, I was so relaxed and in my happy place that I barely noticed all the details, but I should wear sunscreen. The aromas, lotions & potions & touch were uplifting. Great experience... i didnt enjoy my experience here and having gone to several facial places...for this price I recommend you just get a real facial with someone who will take time and care on your skin. the few times my facialist said something to me during my facial was when she was trying to upsell me. i didn't find this enjoyable from both a service aspect and also a facial aspect. when my facialist came, i found her not to be very friendly (she made a snide remark about my outfit as soon as she came to get me) but i let it slide. i got on the bed, she asked me a few questions about what I wanted to do - i told her i had some breakouts and my skin was dry - she then immediately tried to upsell me on an $80 microderm add on and membership. i said sure i'd get the microderm add on but not sure about the membership. then for the remainder of the facial she didnt explain what she was doing or what products she was using on my face. throughout my facial i didn't feel like she was educational. she didn't recommend anything in my routine to make my skin better, other then of course getting a membership. she did the microderm machine -- which felt off -- i have had this done at other places and they take more care and attention - this was about 4-5 mins of her passing the microderm machine on my face. she then did some extractions - again, very half done. her hand slipped and now i have a red mark on my jawline from one of the extractions. it happens, but it was just the icing on the cake. and then she rubbed lotions etc on my face and i left. for 130+$80+ tip. this was not worth it. my provider wasn't friendly, came off judgemental and it just felt like a very impersonal and half done experience. i feel like this place caters to people who are getting into skin care, and from my experience i'd tell those people to go somewhere else where they can get a higher level of care and expertise. this just felt like a good for instagram branded place. also for what it's worth, when i went to check-in, there was a girl at the front complaining a peel caused her to have a bad reaction and another girl waiting to get a billing issue resolved and was asking for the manager. read more
