Not impressed at all!!! I came in on a Wednesday for a red carpet facial. I had an appointment with Alejandro. I arrived 10 minutes early for my appointment. I walked in and the room was very small. It was a 78 degree day and the place was extremely hot inside with minimal ventilation. The front desk receptionis felt cold and unattentive. I arrived 10 minutes early. They made me wait 20 minutes to start my facial. When it was time for my facial, they gave me a completely different person. Her name was Emily, I believe. I made the appointment with Alejandro and got Emily without them letting me know that I would be getting a different person. I thought that unprofessional and rude. The facial was disappointing. My skin actually felt worse afterwards. And I consider myself a skin connoisseur. I know how to do all the steps, along with the all the facial tools used. Just wanted someone to do it for me for one day. I will not be returning to Skin Camp. It was an unpleasant experience. Emily was nice enough but everything else was just not worth it. read more

Skin Camp is an experience I've been needing longer than I realized! My "CEO facial" provided by Alex was nothing less than phenomenal! Oui! This also was the greatest service experience I've ever had. Today, I received my first actual facial massage and I could feel the circulation starting to flow so nicely. What a better way to start Saturday then with the glow facial with extra moisturizer boost?! we went in there with my best friend and had the best experience the music the temperature the products I really enjoyed that every product they used on our skin was either fragrance free or very lightly perfumed but it wasn't overwhelming. My go to place for a facial! Being on a college budget it's reasonably priced well. I often go to Skin Camp once a month to get a Detox + Micro-current. They use delicious natural products throughout the treatment, so that's a plus. After the detox my skin always feels plumper and fresh. Pretty down experience. Of course - most businesses are struggling post Covid ... this one clearly is having a very challenging time recovering. Nothing about this "spa experience" was warm, welcoming, or inviting... Certainly not from our experience in trying to book. We did try to book twice - but unfortunately there was a lot of confusion and lack of response. Voicemails aren't being returned promptly; the one gal who finally answered end of day sounded stressed; felt badly for her as it sounded like she didn't have support she needed. Management (or assistant manager?) was not kind nor helpful when they called back to "help". Perhaps ownership is unaware how potential clientele are being handled...? I happened to be near Skin Camp when I was in town for work, and decided to stop in for the Detox facial. I was having hormonal and diet-related breakouts and was needing an intense purge. I hadn't used any of Skin Gym's tools but had been eying them for a while so I thought this was a great opportunity to check them out. Had no issues booking an appointment and getting there. My consultant/esthetician was amazing at explaining each step of the facial and describing each product/ingredient/tool. My breakouts were so bad she spent a good 5-10 minutes on extractions! For the price of the facial, I definitely felt like it was packed with service. From what I remember, there was a cleanse, exfoliation, mask (multi-masked for different areas of the face), quick scalp massage, serums with facial massage and cupping, and extractions. Been a regular over the past couple months and this place is a God send but the facials are done very close to each other and its incredibly difficult to relax. Last time I was there the skinny tall guy wouldn't stop talking SO LOUD it echoed . This time, he overheard my conversation with my own skin trainer and was talking about me while I was still getting my facial! I'm a semi professional ballet dancer. This guy overheard this and the next minute started to brag to his client he "used to be a ballet dancer in Paris for many years" and then said it wasn't "proper dancing". I know we have the right to our own opinions but wait until I get out of the room before you say this. Even though I'm not your client, I am still a customer of the business. And okay, I've been dancing for a couple decades and I know a dancer when I see one...it's not you. Your so-called French can't even pass elementary level (I'm originally from Montreal). I am disappointed to have to leave this place but when there are so many aestheticians in LA a bad customer service experience that is because of policy and I'm out. So up front, there is a 24-hr cancellation policy. I had a 4pm appointment and when my nanny called in sick i immediately called at 9:30am same day and left a message saying I had to reschedule. No one called me back and I didn't think about it again because, kids. I received a text saying I was a no-show and was charged the $50 cancellation fee. I called immediately and the front desk manager said I would still be charged because I was inside the 24hrs. Now, I am a member which means I pay a set fee each month for their services and when I asked if it could be waived she said no. She was polite about it but clearly not empowered to make a business decision to keep a customer that had much greater long term value than $50. I also bought product and did add-ons so I guess their loss. Also, their phone number to cancel is wrong on the website AND you can't cancel online. So it almost feels like they are trying to trap customers with cancellation fees. No thanks. I'll move on to the next facialist. read more

I have no complaint about the esthetician or the overall service provided, just some feedback on specifics. 1. I am already mildly irritated that you do not take cash. This is the USA and cash is legal tender and not all of us like a record of where we spend our money (and a whole lot of other reasons I want to pay cash). Not even sure if that is legal; to limit a patron to only credit card. 2. Not a fan of having to give credit card info before I get the service or even show up to the salon. 3. I booked the glow facial with the RF add-on. As part of the glow facial, there is micro-current. I was near the end of my facial when I asked about the micro-current as it had not be delivered. I was told that because I received the RF the micro (which is inferior to RF), I was therefore, not to receive the micro-current. 4. Should I have not been consulted on this? Should I have not been informed of this decision on my behalf? Do you not think that there was a reason I booked that specific facial with an added RF? Maybe I wanted both, despite the fact that RF is superior - my prerogative. I have had plenty of laser, facials, etc. and there was a reason I picked that specific one. I basically paid for a service that I did NOT receive. IF I had of been told this in ADVANCE I would have picked a different facial. Or should you not have offered me something else as an exchange? I went to Skin Camp on the recommendation of my friend who could not speak more highly of it. I'm actually not a fan of facials - they typically make me break out and so I leave with worse skin that I had going in. I know, I know, you're supposed to give them time to start working (purging and whatever) but I have to give Skin Camp props. My skin looked pretty much the same after my treatment, but when I woke up the next day, I saw a noticeable difference in a breakout I'd been battling for a few days and my skin feels baby soft. I had the "detox" which included micro-dermabrasian, high frequency (this felt a little woo-woo, but what do I know), and very gentle extractions. The decor is a little sad and you feel a bit like you're in a man's version of what women think is "fun," but the prices are great and the service was awesome. Unfortunately I did not have a good experience at Skin Gym. My facial tech gave me the wrong facial after asking the receptionist multiple times what service I booked. I also booked a 50 min appointment which included a head , neck and shoulder massage which did not happen. The tech worked on me for 30 min and then claimed that the additional 15 min massage was part of the facial. The receptionist did charge me for the facial I ended up getting, but I am so disappointed I wasted my time and money. I recommend going anywhere but here as someone who gets facials/ face massage. *Regarding the owners response- I was 10 min late and called the store to let them know. At that time the receptionist did not state that my entire facial would not be shortened. I ordered a facial with an additional 15 min head neck and shoulder massage and an additional eye mask. read more

This place is okay but it won't make the cut if you're a regular at medical spas. I frequently get chemical peels, hydra facials, laser, etc. done at more professional places and this experience does not measure up. The staff is less than gracious - the environment can be rather stiff.. Their technique isn't bad at all when it comes to the gua sa and more manual type of services. However, I feel that this isn't the best place for facials if you're really looking to actually improve your skin condition (acne, hyperpigmentation, etc). The products used are definitely not top tier - therefore making it not worth the money to me. In my opinion, I can see this place being more of a nice treat for a young girl who has no serious skin concerns. OR a "self care" thing for people who just want to try something new.
