Worst spray tanning experience I've ever had: I've tanned at palm beach, three times, the first time being the best "tan" I received. This last visit, I arrived before closing and was really kind to the front desk associate, the only one working and setting up beds. He asked me which tan I'd like, and I then told him I had called and checked to confirm they had the tan saved from last time, the exact one was supposed to be documented on my account. The associate started to sell the membership for $40 dollars I believe a month. He then proceeded to tell me that I can tan once a month and this tan would be covered under my new membership! Somehow someway through conversation, he told me he needed to charge me an additional $35 because I was getting a "darker" tan and it would cost more than the membership I received. I was confused but it was 5 minutes before closing and I didn't question it that much. I asked him once if this was the same tan as last time as I didn't remember paying that much, and quickly asked if the tan was included in my membership, otherwise I would just cancel it. He brushed me off and dodged questions so I didn't push any further. I got spray tanned and went home, during my spray tan, I checked my back and chest, and there were clumps and the solution was streaking all over my back/chest. The associate told me to "dab" the area and I was dripping all over the place. Even a beginner knows when that much solution is on your body, it's going to stain regardless, whipping it off as quick as possible is the best bet so you don't get huge outlines of solution, dabbing is great in small areas or amounts, I had a quarter of the tanning solution all over my back and chest, it needed to come off. I went home and was charged $90 plus a recurring membership, that I cannot cancel without calling corporate. I had to fly out the following morning to San Francisco, I called in because my hands, feet, and other areas were developing horribly. I was told to come in and speak with manager, I drove all the way down there and waited to speak to a manager who was in a "meeting" I left a note with the front desk girl and had to rush home and was late to my flight because I was told to meet there and they (whoever the manager is) did not show. I've since called and spoke with managers, who are sweet to your face but then do nothing as to follow up or check in to make sure I received my refund or confirm cancellation of membership. Too much drama/disorganization for a tanning salon. I just wanted a spray tan, and I ended up looking like trump to meet my partners parents. The only thing I was told was that the spray tanning machine was broken, and that's about all they said. After calling and bothering them, I got a bunch of different answers on how to cancel and get refund, you have to contact corporate to do either of those things. Overall, horrible experience and an absolute waste of time/money. Take your money elsewhere! read more

Such a rude person on the phone. I have some sessions remaining but my home base is not this one but I happen to be in the area, I called to check if it's based on location or if they work within LA. As I tried to explain to the guy and he was initially asking questions back to answer me correctly, I realized at one point we were saying the same thing and when I repeated it to confirm he sounded EXTREMELY annoyed and cut me off and "I SAID...." In such an annoyed tone that once he finished speaking and said what's your last name? I just felt so uncomfortable and said don't worry about it, you sound very rude... it was for no reason either. The location itself is fine, employees have always been cool enough. This is more a review of the company as well as the location and their policies. I recently relocated for work and had to leave California. Palm Beach Tan customer service won't cancel my membership because this location is a franchise. The store says they cannot cancel the membership unless in person. So basically they are saying they are going to continue to try and charge me for a membership I no longer want or can even use as there is no location in my area. I've never experienced such unethical practices from a company like this. read more

The People who work here are very nice but they only have 2 spray machines (1 Versa and 1 Mystic) and they are ALWAYS down. I only spray about once a week and i've been turned around due to broken machines about a dozen times this year. Reconsidering my membership for the upcoming year. read more

TOTAL SCAM! I have been a loyal customer on and off over the past decade. Went in today to again sign up for the Gold Monthly Unlimited listed at $64.95 a month. Front desk man, had to make a call to see if he could sell me the package. After he talked to his District Manager, he told me the $64.95 package couldn't be sold, but the upgraded $69.95 monthly package was for sale (I only do the stand up which is covered under the 64.95 gold package). I walked out of Palm Beach and over to TOTAL TAN and signed up for the $89.95 a month package which also has a free parking lot! 12% more expensive, but at least they are upfront with their pricing. read more

Palm Beach Tan has been quietly scooping money out of my bank account for the past nine months and since then they've switched staff at the front desk which were unhelpful and rude, nothing was ever explained to me about how much the prices were or how much they were taking out of my bank account. Ive been a member here for years. The facility is fine enough, but this place is always trying to pull weird corporate scams with charges and billing. The latest one being.."Want to upgrade your membership for only $1.00 more a month?"' Scam, its actually $1.00 for the remainder of the month and then they double what they charge you the next month. Dont expect any refunds when you bring issues to their attention either. Staff is not particularly friendly and most seem borderline put out to be assisting you. The two people in front of me in line were there trying to unravel other billing confusions and scams. Seems like this place is just desperate to get any money they can whatever way possible. Everything is a tired corporate up-sell here. Constant employee turnover and no one really seems to quite know what they are doing. I wish there were other options close by at reasonable prices, but there arent.
