I came here during the holiday season to make a large purchase, and the experience went downhill immediately. The manager who initially offered to help was rude right from the start. As a guy shopping at Sephora, you already feel a bit out of place, but her attitude made it feel like I was being watched and judged the entire time. What made it worse was the inconsistency. Another staff member had been friendly and willing to help without any issue, but the moment the manager stepped in, everything changed. She abruptly said she could only ring up a limited number of items and insisted on splitting the purchase into two transactions, which I agreed to without any problem. To make matters worse, one of the managers even bragged about how long she had worked at Sephora, as if that justified the way I was being treated. It came across as a clear power trip. After completing the first transaction, I stepped out to drop off my bags in my car. When I came back, I was met by a different manager who completely refused to continue the sale. Despite me being calm and respectful, she claimed there was a strict limit of 10 items per customer and essentially pushed me out of the store. The explanation felt made up on the spot and completely contradicted what I had just been told minutes earlier. There's no excuse for this kind of behavior. I was polite, reasonable, and cooperative the entire time, yet I was met with attitude, rudeness, and inconsistent policies. I came in there January 8th to purchase a few products. A lady helped me initially, which seemed to be pretty knowledgeable.. another customer interrupts and the person that was helping me basically just starts helping her. I wasn't done and wanted to purchase some eyelashes after selecting products. My sales person so that I would have to wait after she did a makeover for the lady. I asked could somebody else help me and she said nobody else in the store could. This was very disappointing and I won't come back there. Will not recommend Sephora today 11/29. Service was fine. However in their email said 50% off Black Friday Sale. Well, few of the basics were at 50% off, very few. Usually love Sephora. Able to walk around, try different products without being judged. Usually the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Yesterday was the expectation. I came across a very rude, judgmental employee at this location. My friend and I came for the event at the Beverly Center. We stopped here 1st to fix our makeup. When I went to purchase Urban Decay All Nighter. This employee was so rude at the register. Asked me ," Why don't you have a Sephora Account?" I told I I have had an account since 1990. Her response was ," Oh, I see,". After purchasing the item, she continued to follow me around the store while I was trying on items and fixing my makeup. I'm not very easily bothered. It continued at the Charlotte Tilbury aisle. She asked," Which product do you want?" I responded ," I own half of this collection, ". She finally left me alone. ( I had my cute post pickleball outfit on and my hair in an athletic ponytail). I have never felt so uncomfortable and judged at Sephora. Security is seriously lacking here. I visited on 11/11/23 around 4:30 pm and saw a theft go down. Store staff witnessed it too. Two poorly dressed adult men walked into Sephora, snatched Chanel fragrance testers and packages, stashed them in a pillowcase, and walked out. Thank goodness my Fenty was safe at the back. They really need better security. Store staff didn't even call mall security. I informed mall security while seeking directions, and they said they weren't alerted. Clearly, Sephora's staff isn't too concerned about their store. Why is this Sephora so bad???? I usually come in knowing exactly what I need since I'm just there to refill a favorite product that I've ran out of. I go in straight to my sections and 9 out of 10 times I have to get an associate to go into the stock pile in the bottom drawers to get my product because it's not found on the shelves. Maybe they do this to prevent theft, but damn it just looks disorganized and ransacked when half the shelves are missing products. read more

I wish I could've gotten the name of the person who assisted me, she was curt, rude and judgemental...... Was strolling at the Beverly Center for some long overdue shopping when my false lashes needed repair. I decided to go to Sephora to fix it immediately plus I needed to shop for a new foundation anyways. So when i enteted the store, i asked for help in looking for a foundation but i told her i needed help with my lashes first. She immediately told me that she had to charge me $30 for putting glue on my strip lashes. I was shocked so I said nevermind and decided to still get my foundation. As she was asking me questions, i was answering and rudely answered back. Anyway, it was my most unpleasant experience at a Sephora store. I normally go to the grove bec they're much nicer there even if there are a lot of customers. This store in particular has been crowded, dirty, and not so stocked the past couple of times I've visited which is disappointing. Usually workers at Sephora are really friendly and will ask if you need help. I came about 30 mins before closing so there was hardly any customers in the store but all the workers were grouped in the front and talking. It took 20 mins for a worker to ask if I needed color matching for a foundation after trying to match it myself. The worker who did offer to help was friendly. But they need a manager who will tell them to not talk to each other and help the customers! read more

My grandkids dragged me into this store while shopping in the Grove, LA. Everything was quite pricey! $13. For hairspray was more than I was willing to spend for our 13 yr old. Horrible customer service on behalf of the girl with a unicorn tattoo. When you approach her to ask questions, she seems annoyed. She had an attitude the whole time. I came in looking for a new wash for my acne-prone skin. I tried asking her what she would highly recommend for my skin type. She didn't seem like she wanted to give me customer service. Working as a "beauty advisor" is working with people, being knowledgeable about beauty, providing a welcoming environment for customers, and suggesting/selling products. But she did none. She provided me with simple plain answers. Poor customer service. Avoid this location. Also, they will have you standing in line with one cashier while the rest of the sales associates walk back and forth, not doing anything. They will have you waiting for that one cashier to help you. I was shopping at this location today, and had a terribly displeasing experience. I waited in line to make a purchase for a considerable amount of time. The cashier was busy with the same client for a while, and that was understandable. But, what was unacceptable was Jordan the manager who walked by the line of customers several times without acknowledging, or helping with the line. There were several other employees walking around the store. This Sephora used to be so great. Now sales agents are dismissive and rude. It would have been so easy for Rebecca to say "I'm sorry, but this check-out line is closed for the moment. I'm sure my colleague will be happy to help you." Instead, she went back and forth from the phone to products and never even acknowledged my presence until I asked, and all she said was "the line's back there." So I went to the back of the line which had formed and waited. Unfortunately Rebecca came back. When she finally started to ring up my items, I handed her my VIB card (with 1500 points on it) and she rolled her eyes, sighed and said "someone else needs to help her," referring to me. When I went in, the male cashier working today at about noon would not give me the gift. I said I was most likely going to get one serum and the sales associate tried to talk me out of it by talking badly about that brand. The sales associates at this location seem more laid back and relaxed compared to their sisters (and brothers) in arms on Hollywood Boulevard, 3rd Street Promenade, and Century City, and it isn't because the Beverly Center isn't busy! Unless you hit the mall early or are among the last to leave before security ushers everyone out at 9pm (and all the night shifts have orgies in the food court -- this is just my guess as to what goes on; don't hold me to it), Sephora will be packed with the same stock characters that are cast in every Sephora, though the stars really shine... - models, both aspiring and legit, posing and being gawked at - cheapskates getting a free makeover with no intention of buying anything - random people cadging a few free pumps of cologne or perfume (GUILTY, Kai L...) -- And yet, the employees are very helpful and attentive, with very little of the pretentiousness that one may come across at a MAC store or at many department store cosmetic counters. Alright. I have something to confess. I.... I... ...okay, I am a girl! Oh the relief, I said it, it's out there, man do I feel better now. So as one of those girl people, I like to be pretty and girlie sometimes and one of the best parts about being a girl in a store like this is picking a new scent. It's important and can make or break your identity. I mean, if you go too potent and strong, you will scare boys away. If you go too light and meek, then you won't attract the right kind of love slave either, so fragrance is key, dammit! Anyhoo, this past Saturday afternoon I decided to try something new. I love my Sud Pacifique Abricot Vanille one, but for $53 a bottle, I thought I'd see what else was out there. And so, the snifferoo test began.... First up to the nose plate was a line from Laurence Dumont from that France country. They all had Vanille in their titles and this was a good sign. I tried them all (seriously I smelled all 12 of them sitting Indian Style on the floor of Sephora, but hey, it's research, so just step over me if you have to!) and settled on the following: Vanille Mure, Vanille Abricot and Vanille Orchidee. Now some might think, um, 3 perfumes stephy? Ever hear of overkill? No, I actually haven't because depending on my mood, each day can warrant a totally different sensory adventure and so I like having options. I then spotted a really cool bottle of La Maison de la Vanille (Can you tell I like vanilla?) and went with this amazing, instantly transport you to an island smelling Vanille Divine des Tropiques. It. is. heavenly. And I am wearing it right now and can't stop smiling it smells so happy and fresh. And so, at the end of my sniffy little adventure, I spent $112.58, but I got 5 new scents for any occasion and dammit, that is a good deal! And this is why this Sephora gets 5 stars. For the variety and definitely for not judging me as I sat there for 20 minutes spraying things on paper sticks like a crazy person :) read more

During my recent visit, Lidiya provided excellent customer service with enthusiasm and a smile. She stopped restocking items to show me what I was looking for. I noticed that the bottle for the daily brush cleaner was different since the last time I purchased it. She explained the difference in the new formula. She also helped me at the cashier and offered samples. It's been a long time since someone from Sephora offered me samples. I requested for fragrance samples, and she picked and made two great ones based on my preference for a citrus scent. Now I don't dislike going to this location thanks to Lidiya's friendliness and knowledge of Sephora's products. read more

I love this Sephora location. I truly feel that they care about you here. They all greet you and make you feel at home. I knew what I wanted and was at the register about to pay and a nice employee approached me and told me about their perk hydrating facial, and it's complimentary with any $75 purchase at the cosmetics and beauty chain. It was only about 30 min! They use a machine like a vacuum it literally sucks everything out of your pores so you can see at the end all the stuff that was in your pores lol. I felt so refreshed and clean after this amazing facial. It was completely painless and actually relaxing. I definitely recommend trying it out and all you have to do is spend $75 which I'm sure everyone does here lol. read more

Since Sephora is a chain, the one thing that really sets this one apart from the others is not so much the products (I think the selection is mostly the same everywhere) but the customer service! I am one of those hopeless girls when it comes to skincare & beauty. If I could wear no foundation/bb cream/etc. and be barefaced every day, I would be so happy. For some odd reason, I was not blessed with awesome flawless porcelain Asian skin. Unfortunately, I've always had hypersensitive and uneven skin. I went in to Sephora with no real desire to purchase anything...but, alas I came out with great recommendations all thanks to Kim & the cashier (sorry I forgot your name, but she was the one who recommended I try a gentle facial cleanser made for men). I entered some concerns into a large touchscreen computer in the back of the store & was instantly given a few recommended items. Whoa! How cool. Thanks, Sephora Robot. Then, a real live human associate Kim gave me a sample of each item & even used her personal experiences & professional knowledge to help give me some tips and recommendations for other products that might help address my concerns. She was very professional, friendly, well-spoken, friendly, and not pushy at all. There was another customer asking for help around the same time, but she maintained her cool and did not rush either of us. When I checked out, the cashier was also helpful in asking how my shopping experience was and gave me a sample of another product she thought I should try! Wow! Talk about personal shoppers. With the current situation of the coronavirus, I have been a victim of xenophobia. I'm of Asian decent, not even Chinese, which clearly the workers at Sephora could not decipher. There were multiple Asian people in the store today and none of the workers helped them/me nor were any of the Asian people in the store greeted. I understand that with ignorance mixed with fear equals racism but it is unfortunate that this exists right here in Los Angeles, the melting pot of California. The managers should educate their staff about customer service but with the right precautions of course. You workers can still get sick with the flu you know....
