My fiancé and I went to Nordstroms at The Grove. For a change we wanted to get out of our nearby city to the west side. We were in the search for a perfume for myself. The level of customer service we experienced was completely unacceptable and shockingly rude, which is especially disappointing given the reputation of a location like The Grove. The employees need more customer relation training, specially the pink hair girl attitude was unexpectedly rude and dismissive. She appeared unwilling to help us and, at one point, threw a perfume sample toward my face, which I found both disrespectful and unprofessional. What made the experience even more disappointing is that we were genuinely interested in making a purchase and were prepared to spend a significant amount. Ultimately, because we did not complete a purchase, we were told our parking could not be validated. Given the circumstances and the level of service received, this felt unnecessary and punitive. Validating parking costs very little, yet goodwill and customer experience are invaluable. I sure will stay in my own neighborhood in the future. read more

Amazing service! It was my folks birthday today and I was already on this side of town I had gone to footlocker on Melrose and also the Beverly center! I've been shopping at this particular location since they first opened. I have bought jewelry, shoes and men's clothing. The service and selection cannot be beat. I wear an unusual size shoe and literally Nordstrom is the only brick and mortar location that always carry the size I need. My wife is a recent customer and Jo in the women's department always goes above and beyond to provide service. She takes the time to find the exact item you need. Disappointed and Disturbed by Management's Behavior I've been shopping at Nordstrom for years and have always appreciated their customer service, until my recent visit to The Grove location. I came in to return several unworn items, tags attached, receipts in hand. What should have been a simple transaction turned into a confusing ordeal. Three different employees gave me conflicting information about the return, and no one seemed able to provide a clear explanation about what the issue was. When I expressed frustration and asked for clarification, manager "America R."responded by saying: "Since you have an attitude, I'll call security and have you escorted out of the store." I was stunned. I wasn't yelling, cursing, or being aggressive. I was doing what most customers would do, asking questions and advocating for myself when given inconsistent answers. Being threatened with security for expressing normal frustration felt completely out of line and frankly, intimidating. What bothers me most is that this felt like an escalation tactic rather than an attempt to resolve the situation. If a manager is comfortable speaking to a long-time customer this way over a standard return, it raises real questions about how this location handles conflict. This experience has genuinely shaken my trust in Nordstrom. I've spent thousands of dollars at this brand over the years, and I now have serious reservations about returning to this location, or possibly Nordstrom altogether. I expected professionalism. Hi! It's me - the unimportant girl! Guys if you want to buy shoes here and you're below age 50, forget about it. They will assume you're broke and will ignore you. They'd bring boxes and boxes of shoes to all the ladies above age but kept ignoring me. One of the employees finally noticed me after flagging him down, he asked what I wanted and then never brought it to me, just went to work the register instead. We were helped with the intention of getting our parking validated. A girl at sticker planet had informed us that we could get our parking validated at the apple store or Nordstrom for free. Both were lies. Apple store never validated parking and in our daze we assumed Nordstrom would save us. After being helped by a makeup attendee and checking out he explained that he'd be right back with our ticket to get it validated. such was a lie. At Nordstrom an attendee informed us that they did not do FREE parking validation but with paid. We ended up buying a lip liner for $23-24 and STILL had to pay for parking when we left. price was $15. The makeup attendee was kind but the lie/deception had disappointed us. This Nordstrom is one of the bigger ones with high end brands. We came in to look for some shoes for holidays. I saw a few pair of cute ones but they didn't have my size. Seems Nordstrom doesn't carry size 5 and smaller shoes anymore! They used to advertise as the biggest shoe salon with all sizes available! Same situation for my husband, it has become impossible for ppl with small feet to shop at stores. But this is still Nordstrom service so our salesman ordered a pair of shoes my size and they were shipped to my house within 2 days! Hubby was lucky to have found a pair of small sized loafers and they were the only pair in the entire store. Not too many stores at the grove, at least we can find something at this Nordstrom. Ps. The parking was only $22 with store purchase validation! The restroom was the filthiest I'v ever seen at any Nordstrom locations! Gross! read more

While shopping at this store today, we were aggressively followed, monitored, and circled by a big white security guard in a manner that was invasive, obvious, and humiliating. The guard positioned himself uncomfortably close to us and continued to trail us throughout the store as if we were suspected of stealing, despite the fact that we were simply browsing and were already carrying shopping bags from other stores. This behavior was not subtle. It was not discreet. It was persistent, targeted, and deeply disrespectful. I have shopped at Nordstrom many times over the years and have spent thousands of dollars at your stores. None of that mattered in that moment. Instead, we were treated as suspicious based on appearance rather than behavior. That is racial profiling, plain and simple. No customer, especially a loyal one, should be made to feel unwelcome, criminalized, or unsafe while shopping. The actions of your security staff directly contradict the inclusive, respectful image Nordstrom claims to uphold. If this is the standard your security team operates under, then it represents a serious failure in training, judgment, and accountability. I expect this complaint to be taken seriously. I am requesting a formal investigation into this incident, documentation of this complaint, an explanation of how Nordstrom trains security staff to avoid racial profiling, and confirmation of what corrective actions will be taken to ensure this does not happen again. read more

Once again, failure in the lingerie department. Wanted to be sized and buy new bras. Had the same experience here a year ago- not a soul to be found. Should I have to hunt? Visiting, I needed to buy a belt for a pair of dress pants for a nice dinner I was invited to, Nordstrom was having a sale, the salesperson said that she couldn't give me the sale price because it was only for store credit card holders, I have never had this experience at Saks, Bloomingdales or any other major department store ever! Absolutely beautiful Nordstrom...wow! And the staff were lovely...every single person I encountered! The reason for two stars: the beautiful aesthetic of the store and the amazing staff. This is the first Nordstrom I've ever attempted to patronize that did not carry wide shoes. The shoe sales person said, "They never send us wide shoes...I don't know why." Nordstrom is my go to but now I understand when traveling I need to call the shoe departments first..what a bummer. When I nicely asked if my purchase could be placed in a gift box for Christmas, she replied with a curt attitude -- "they're not made yet. I would have to make it." I clocked the tone but didn't think much of it until today, when I went to wrap the gift, I noticed the shirt I purchased was purposely crumpled into a ball and the tissue paper looked horrible. Nordstroms is the all time best department store in the city! Not only are the adult and teen clothes departments lit, but both shoe departments are above and beyond any other store I've been to! And last but definitely not least, their makeup and perfume department are out of this world! Worst customer service in the men's fragrance department. My husband went with me to make a purchase and he had been wanting to purchase a YSL scent for a while. He wanted me to smell it and see if I liked it. As I was shopping he was some what helped by an associate who had a passive attitude and snobby reaction to my husband inquiry about the scent. He asked the cost as he was holding the bottle, the associate checked and as my husband went to grab the bottle back he was going to purchase the man said "I'll put it back" rather than handing it back to the customer he assumed he would not purchase it due to cost. I booked an In-Store Styling with a "fashion expert" and got nothing. Please, don't waste your time here. My "fashion expert" didn't even know I was coming to meet her, despite my booking several days prior. I'm not even that mad at my not so much "fashion expert" (store clerk) who forgot to check that she had an appointment with me. My problem is with Nordstrom for advertising a service that doesn't exist. You need to make this important to your employees or just stop pretending it's a thing, Your employees aren't even checking to see if they have an appointment because you aren't making this "in-store styling" relevant or worth their time. Heads up! I needed a black tie optional dress for a wedding and there were NO formal gowns available in-store. My "stylist" said they had nothing there. I wanted to try on dresses but that is not an option at Nordstrom at the Grove, Apparently it's all on-line. Nordstrom isn't costumer oriented and they have no formal wear in stock. I've learned the hard way, Just order on-line or go somewhere else if you want quality in-person service. read more

This review is regarding my experience with salesperson Kwame. Upon browsing for clothing, Kwame took a couple items we were looking at to a fitting room, presumably unwilling to let us walk around with items for purchase. Later when we attempted to check out, Kwame placed stickers over the listed price of two items we were trying to purchase, and wanted to charge 50% more than the listed price. He also lied about the sticker even though we watched him do it, and suggested that "42" was the size. These items were adjustable hats, they don't have a size. While we were able to eventually pay the listed price, the experience left a sour taste in our mouth and we felt it was unbecoming of the high standard Nordstrom seeks to set. The grove was jam packed with people during the holiday season making it very difficult to find parking and get to my appointment on time. Maria Linda went out of her way to accommodate. She did an amazing job as well. Usually when I get my makeup done, I go home and change it up to my liking but it was not necessary this time. She went above and beyond for my special day. Never truly knew the magic of Nordstrom's until I met a special someone who's guilty pleasure is the enchantment of this sensational department store. From the warm friendly staff to the exclusive item, designer wear and amenities on each floor... the "Strom" of Nordstrom's calls you inward. The Bar Verde, the Ebar Bistro, Customer Service, lounge areas throughout various departments including hallways to fitting rooms, restrooms and alteration areas. They always put your customer needs high and accommodate however they can. While I do enjoy most departments here, because of the more exclusive items in some parts of the men's wear, selfcare/grooming areas I'm unable to find as much for health/allergen reasons or ethical (non leather, suede, etc), but even still I feel valued as a customer and have had assistance when needed. They value not only you but their staff as well and highly. Employee of the Month wall in the halls. The parking validation is right of the main entrance or left if you're exiting (hold your ticket lower/down a bit and it should scan). read more

I placed an order after receiving a some money for my dream bag that for the first time I could finally afford And then 24 hours later it was somehow out of stock. I was devastated. (My husband still doesn't understand how I'm so sad about a bag!) I pick a very 2nd choice and some Gucci flats to be delivered to the Nordstrom The Grove, in Los Angeles. I caught the error of it being sent to the Melrose location the next morning, and called them first thing when they opened. To be fair, the Melrose were superstars! Kindly they were so sweet and found a solution - send it to the Grove store by 2 pm. I called them back that after and confirmed they sent it. They said they had. I called the Grove location to confirm they had it and let them know I was having a bad pain day so my husband was getting my new luxury bag I had worked so hard for. The woman was straight up rude. Like big attitude rude. Also. very un-Nordstrom. She informed me that I was "making them work" and had to go check the store room. It was not there and she said "I needed to just figure it out". I asked if it could be anywhere else and she sighed and said, "you really want to make us go down to the loading dock?!" I asked if she wouldn't mind because I was SO excited about it, it was thousands of dollars and my husband just drove an hour in LA traffic and parked at the Grove to get it. She never asked my name even or said hi. She never got the order number right either. I asked what her name was and she said something like Ahaha? I don't think it was real. Then she hung up without saying even bye. I'm a disabled chronic pain patient and can't drive so my husband left an appointment early and drove from all the way from Santa Monica to Beverly Hills to pick it up. My husband stil went just incase they found it and he wanted to surprise me with it! He stopped by and they were just as rude to him as they were to me. He happened to get the same woman! She said "your wife just needs to figure it out tomorrow with the Melrose location" Honestly I'm shocked and disappointed. I've always shopped at Nordstrom since my teens, even though it was out of my budget. But now that I came into some money regarding horrific things from childhood, I thought at least deserved a purse I have always wanted to treat myself. Today took that excitement away from me and now it just feels like work and like I'm inconveniencing people. I'm just disappointed at the decline of customer service at the Grove location and at my favorite store, the cancellation of my dream bag, and the behavior from this woman today. My husband said she was really rude to him as well, never asked him his name and didn't even say goodbye. Apparently we are just a big inconvenience. I just want my stuff now. I'm not even excited anymore but it was expensive. So yeah. There is a screen shot below of my order number, my name, payment I for and address. My husband doesn't have time to stop working and drive to another location. So I guess I need it shipped and it gets to me when it does. If it is shipped, I need to give delivery instructions to ensure I get it and it isn't stolen. I had fantasized about strolling out (or rolled in a wheelchair) out of Nordstrom to the gorgeous Grove at night with all the lights and fountains -- and me, with a big bag silver Nordstrom bag filled with a perfectly hand wrapped luxury bag from Saint Laurent bag in its box and beautiful Gucci slides. Usually at every other Nordstrom, I've had a great experience and it's always pleasant and easy to get what I need. However, every time I've interacted with the main manager for the designer section (I don't know her name but she's blonde), she's been quite condescending and rude. I shop at the Grove location quite often because it's close to my house, and I usually love the other areas of the store (e.g. beauty, etc). But unfortunately, every time I've interacted with this particular manager, I have never had a great experience with her. I usually purchase from the designer section for my clients, since I do personal shopping for them and I usually purchase my selections beforehand to show to my clients, in person, as I'm hired to do so. I don't use them for any other reason, nor do I even have my clients wear them for long, other than trying them on briefly. I don't use them and return them either. I only return items that my client does not want (and clearly Nordstrom is built on that structure that Free Returns are easy and effortless). I have a lot of musician clients I dress, and I love the Nordstrom designer section a lot because of the good selections, but I mainly shop online now for my clients since I don't want to deal with that manager at the Grove specifically. She's discriminatory and I truly wonder if it's she just thinks I'm not a worthy client to look after. She's never even directed me to another department of Nordstrom, for personal shoppers/stylists and I didn't even know of this until another helpful employee told me about it. I'm a big fan of Nordstrom and primarily purchase online now, because I hate dealing with this employee. read more

Nordys is a staple department store at The Grove and definitely a great place to do some holiday shopping. Large 3 story/level store with their E Bar just outside in separate building with their own entrance. Bar Verde (reviewed separately) is on 2nd floor and is a great place to grab a cocktail and a bite. Overall can get pretty busy, as would be expected for this location, but the layout and helpfulness of the employees make it a truly enjoyable experience. read more
