The service was terrific from the person closest to the front of the store all the way to the back where they have the homemade chocolates. One of the employees gave us a quick blurb on the candy factory's history: It's a family business of many decades dedicated to handcrafting a diverse range of Southern sweets and delicacies. The founder is Stan, aka "The Candy Man." Aside from the wall-to-wall and candy dispensers, SCK also offers Gourmet Popcorn, Pralines, Divinity, Cakes/Pies, and various gift ideas. I walked away with bags of some of my favorites - Hot Tamales, other Mike & Ike's flavors, Sweet Tarts, and Cherry Sour Balls & Jelly Beans. It was cool to watch the gourmet popcorn, chocolates, and candied apples being made. The sweet landmark you have to stop by when in Nashville. Just don't snack too much before dinner.

FIVE STARS FOR APPLE CIDER SLUSH…read more I've been coming to Jackson's Orchard with my family for years and it is always something I look forward to in the fall, especially when we are looking to go to a pumpkin patch. I recently learned that it's open in the summer, too, and I was so excited to come and get my apple cider slush fix (and some fried apple and peach pies)!! The slush (and cider) is unlike any other. It's the perfect mix of sweet and sour, and no matter how hard I try I can't replicate it at home. The fried pies were a little undercooked and not as warm and toasty as I remember them being, but I'm guessing that they are better during the busy months when they have to make them fresh. There are bathrooms on-site, and lots of outdoor seating. There is a store to buy lots of jams and salsas and fresh produce. There is also a playground ($3 per person). During the fall fest there are always a lot of activities like a petting zoo and face painting, etc. Some may say it's a bit overpriced, but I love supporting this family owned orchard that has been a staple in the greater Bowling Green area for 50 years!! Don't miss out!

Goo Goo, Ga Ga! How can you not like a product with Goo Goo in the title?…read more On this trip, I learned that this candy originated in Nashville. Gotta love local. We accidently ran across it while heading to the Lainey Wilson place next door. Once I saw it, I had to stop in. Inside is a homage to the Goo Goo Cluster with history, trivia and lots of product sold to go. I do wish they had free samples available. If so, I probably would've bought more product. We bought a few items as it was and are still enjoying them back home in the Seattle area. This place is fun to check out and learn about the Goo Goo Cluster.

But after seeing a Yelp friend post their positive review of their much more recent visit to Goo Goo's, I wanted to briefly tell the (Yelp) world that I also had a fabulous time at this Tennessee-based chocolate factory, especially in regards to their build-your-own Goo Goo Chocolate class. If you haven't had their chocolate before, the Goo Goo Chocolate Co was founded over 100 years ago in Nashville, TN and is unique for its disc shape, containing nougat, caramel, peanuts, and chocolate. These huge clusters are absolutely delicious and make great gifts! Surprisingly, it is only about 200 calories for the traditional palm size piece of candy. So of course, I enjoyed quite a few during our chocolate making class! I took this class as part of my sister's 30th birthday bash in Nashville in 2024 with my sister and her friends. For about an hour, our lovely cooking instructor entertained us with his hilarious wit, making us feel giddy and grand as we made some Goo Goos! While the base was the same for all participants, we could add whatever we wanted inside before our creation was drizzled in yummy chocolate. We could also grab some tiny treats to snack on too. I remember putting lots of pretzels, marshmallows, and many others things in mine! Best of all, we were gifted with half a dozen full sized goo goo chocolates as well as a branded apron that is incredibly well made and is my go-to apron even now! Then we also got a discount for the attached gift shop to buy some candy for our loved ones... or for ourselves! I bought a magnet and Goo Goo branded coffee beans. At about $45-55 a person, this is a decently priced experience I highly recommend for all Nashville tourists and locals alike.
