With the chicken pot pie hand pie quickly becoming a second favorite! Everything is delicious, fresh, and we enjoy coming and trying out the new menu items each month. The storefront is combined with a coffee shop called Cumbres and it is very cozy. A lot of people often come to get coffee, a baked good, and to get some work done on the couches or the tables, either indoor or outdoors. We love coming here and hope to keep coming back for many years!

While the baked goods are decent, this is easily one of the most poorly managed places I've visited. The staff seemed untrained and disorganized. Service was slow, multiple orders (including mine) were incorrect, and there was no apology or effort to make it right. The space itself felt dirty and chaotic, which only added to the overall experience. The pricing is also hard to justify -- $50 for a dozen pastries in Wellington is excessive, especially when better quality and significantly better service can be found for less. There are simply better options with stronger execution and more professionalism.

If you love sweets you are going to want to grab a ticket to this event. They bill themselves as…read morethe largest dessert festival in America. The event is held in the cities of Atlanta,, Orlando, Tampa, Miami and this year in West palm Beach at the Expo Center at the South Florida Fairgrounds. You have your choice of a VIP entry which gives you 50 dessert sample tickets and lets you into the event an hour early and a general admission, 30 ticket entry, Both include a small plastic box so you can take a some treats home with you. I had previously attended the event in Miami and West Palm Beach was miles better. It still had a lot of people in attendance but it did not feel as crowded. It was also much cleaner. Garbage cans were constantly emptied, debris was cleaned up, and the bathrooms were spotless. The reason to come to Dessert Wars is to try what seems like an endless assortment of desserts and it did not disappoint. Some highlights were all of the cookies and cupcakes from Anna Bakes, Midnight Mo's cookies, La Gringuita stuffed cookies, Lo's Pie Shop pies, Euphoria Desserts, The Biscuit Lady's Bakehouse, The Crumb Up cookies, Alfies Peruvian alfajores, Nikki's Jazzy Sweets, D&R Sweets chocolate covered strawberries, The Green baker's CBD oil pear marshmallows, Phuse Cream macaron ice cream sandwiches, and Wickedly's pumpkin latte cookies. There were 50 vendors serving ice cream, donuts, cookies, cakes, cupcakes, churros, pie, baklava, and so much more. This event is always worth attending. It is important to note that tickets are only sold online, not at the door. They sell out so buy early. Speaking of early, it pays to get here when they open. We arrived an hour before our timed entry so we could be at the front of the line. They give you a box to take some sweets home but bring your own container as well. At the end of the end of the event you can pretty much take as much as you want of what is left. Most importantly don't forget to vote! I found so many new places that I will follow on social media and I look forward to visiting their brick and mortar locations. May the best sweet purveyor win!

Although there was a line, it moved quickly. We decided to share a Cuban sandwich plus we each got a pastry for dessert. You order and pay at the register and pick up your order when they call your name at the other end of the counter. They have so many varieties of pastries, desserts, and cakes on display that's it is hard to choose. The Cuban sandwich was excellent. Slightly warm on pressed fresh Cuban bread. And the pork, ham, and cheese inside were very good as well. In fact, it was one of the better Cuban sandwiches we've had in quite awhile. For dessert, my husband got a guava and cheese pastelito. It's in the shape of a turnover. Not too sweet because the cheese tempers the sweetness of the guava. It is one of his favorites. I tried a chocolate Napoleon with merengue. The top layer had the chocolate glaze and there were thick meringue layers between each pastry layer. It was a bit gloppy and not the easiest to eat. Very sweet but good. I brought half home. Yes, they are a quite popular chain. But they have a pretty good and efficient system working at this location. And lots of staff proficient in both English and Spanish. I know we will be back.
