Just Sugar Already!!!! I have VERY sensitive underarms that DO NOT like to be shaved and I'm sorry but I just won't go "all natural". I decided to try Sugaring.... Life changing!!! My regular place was booked up so I decided to give Kimi a try after reading her yelp reviews and I am so glad I did. She and her service are AWESOME. Things I appreciate: 1.) Kimi replies super quickly 2.) Kimi is great about answering my questions and is very knowledgeable 3.) Kimi's little spot is sooo cute and well decorated (inviting) 4.) Kimi always makes you feel comfortable and makes great conversation during service 5.) Kimi does an awesome job with the sugaring - less painful and gets those hairs out with ease. 6.) My sensitive underarms haven't broken out with any type of reaction, yay!!! Mahalo Kimi! read more

Sugar Bar - Sugaring Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

Love this place!! I used to get sugar waxing regularly when I was living in CA and the place I went to was pretty good. Since I moved back to HI, I had a hard time finding somewhere that uses sugar since there are only a handful on the island. My search brought me to Sugar Bar with Manda. WOW I did not think sugaring could be this great!!! The studio is cute and cozy. The service was quick and efficient. Manda made me feel extremely comfortable since waxing is pretty vulnerable!! If you've been considering sugar waxing, this is your sign to TRY IT at sugar bar read more

My first sugaring experience was awesome with Nicole. She is professional, well informed and has a very sweet, friendly vibe. She explained the benefits of sugaring vs waxing, as well as hair growth and aftercare. Finding a solid service provider is so important and I tend to stay with mine for years. I have already made my follow up appointment with her. read more

I came here once before, but this was my first time doing a Brazilian Wax at Sugar Bar. Vi made is such a comforting experience! I got sugared elsewhere before, but with Vi I felt a lot less pain and it was so quick. She was so sweet and made me feel in a safe place. 10/10 would highly recommend getting sugared here! read more

As I've gotten older, I've come to despise shaving. But I love going to the pool and hate thinking that everyone is staring at me for all the wrong reasons (long hairs on my legs and arm pits....eeeewwww!) Anyway, as I was searching on Yelp for a few recommendations for waxing, I stumbled upon Sugar Bar Hawaii. One...there was a discount for newbies, two it was a couple minutes drive from my office and three it sounded less painful than waxing. Bet! I booked an appointment immediately with Vi. When I first walked up, it looked a little suspicious. Mostly cause it's a bunch of closed doors and no windows with signs for various businesses. I was greeted at the door by Vi. As I walked in, you see the bed and a cute board that was giving total Instagram vibes. I got changed right there in the same room as my treatment and Vi got to work immediately. I loved it and I'm hooked. After my first session, I booked an appointment for my sister as a Christmas gift. I'll be returning soon for my third visit. No more shaving for me anymore! read more

Manda is amazing, I'm so happy I decided to go through with sugaring. I had been thinking about it for a long time but never really had the motivation but going to Sugar Bar has been of the best SELF CARE decisions i've made for myself. Manda is super nice, professional, and supportive. I'm really happy with my results. read more

I love sugar bar they have a welcoming environment and I love Brooke!! Most importantly my hair grows back so slow and smooth and the pain is very tolerable! read more

Sugar at the Sugar Bar, you won't regret it! Do you want someone you can feel comfortable with? Someone who doesn't make you feel uneasy because you're stripping naked bottom down? OR top down? Or both?? Do you want someone who provides excellent service and attention to detail? Someone that gets every part of the area you need sugared and areas around the area? Do you want someone affordable? With understandable prices that are not out of asking because she is a self-owned business? Do you want someone who isn't too far from home? Someone who has a business located on KING ST that is literally like one of the main streets in town? Not to forget to mention, you don't have to wait for parking because it is always available and you cannot get lost. Finding Kimi was fate, as dramatic sounding as that sounds, whomever reading this needs to know that I'm very picky when it comes to quality of services I'm paying for. Sugaring is a luxury and to lot of people especially because of this pandemic. As a customer, I want to go to a business that I feel deserves my hard earned money. Idk how that statement will sound to people but it's true. I rather give to small businesses that provide quality over big businesses that focus on quantity and low quality service. I will keep coming to see Kimi for as long as she's open and will continue to support her vision because her work is amazing! XOXO read more

Kimi is so awesome! I've started going to her mid-last year after my previous sugaring lady left. She's very easy to feel comfortable with!! I brought a stress ball to use during my session to distract me and she now has one to use for her clients. With her new location, she made it really relaxing. Only sad thing is now that she's so busy it's hard to get an appointment :( but gotta be happy she's staying busy, happy for her! ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND KIMI read more

Kimi is great! Love each session, easy to talk to, really accommodating, professional, and her sanitation is spot on! Location and parking is great, right next door to the humane society and down the street from UH. Also Raising Cane's for a little snack after a session Overall experience, she's the best in the game rn. And she's really educational about the process and products she uses, which is great for the newbies and just good to know in general. read more

I came here for my very first time ever sugaring/waxing experience & it surprisingly exceeded my expectations! I was preparing for it to be much more painful, but Taylor helped me thru the process & expectations. I've come back 3 times now & continue to be satisfied by the results :) read more

I had my first sugaring experience with Nicole a couple months back, and I truly enjoyed the experience. She has a wonderful bedside manner (which is a must for an intimate job like this!) and the physical space is a clean, well-run establishment. I would recommend Sugar Bar to first timers as well as regulars wanting to maintain silky, smooth skin. Great value for the price, so tip well! read more

I never write reviews but I need to share how awesome Kimi is! I've been here three times and I'm obsessed. I feel so comfortable coming each month, and at a great price. I used to get waxes and personally prefer sugaring. For me it's less painful and so much quicker. Kimi is amazing and can carry a conversation with you during the whole process. This really helps to distract me. Kimi also informs you about aftercare and I have found it so helpful. Her tip of using witch hazel is life-changing! She even offers you water and candy afterward. I will never go back to regular waxing again :) read more

I'm new to sugaring and my experience at Sugar Bar couldn't have been better! I booked my appointment with Vi for a brazilian and I don't think I'll ever go back to traditional waxing. The studio is spotless and has such a cozy vibe. Vi made me feel comfortable and relaxed from the moment I walked in. She's incredibly friendly and easy to talk to, which made the whole experience so much nicer. The sugaring process was quick and almost painless, and my skin has never felt smoother. Vi's professionalism and attention to detail really stood out. I highly recommend her services at Sugar Bar! read more

This was my first time sugaring and I'm so glad that I chose Sugar Bar for a Brazilian and Underarms. My skin is sensitive, so I decided to do sugaring over waxing since it's only lemon, water, and sugar. I inquired about an appointment through Yelp at first, and Kimi messaged me a few minutes later with her number. I decided to text her and she asked for my availability. After the appointment was set, she sent a Pre-Sugaring FAQ/instructions that I needed to follow prior. On the day of, I was really nervous because I have a low pain tolerance. But I'm so glad Kimi helped me through it. She kept a conversation going throughout the whole procedure which helped me distract myself from the pain. She even offered a stress ball and advised me to tap on my chest when I knew it will start to hurt. That helped A LOT. She asked me how I was doing and allowed me to take breaks because of the pain. After the appointment, she instructed me on what to do for the next few days and also texted me after so that I can refer back to them. Overall, the appointment was about 45 minutes for both a Brazilian and Underarms. The total was $85 ($65 for a Brazilian and $20 for Underarms). I definitely recommend Kimi for hair removal, especially if this is your first time. I will definitely go back in 3-4 weeks!! read more

Since I haven't been out much due to COVID, it has been awhile since I've written a review but I couldn't pass on the opportunity to let others know about this sweet little gem I found! I have diligently gotten waxed now for over 10 years but recently started focusing on a more healthier and organic approach to not only what I put in my body but what I expose to my body. I recently heard of sugaring and was referred to the Sugar Bar by a reliable source. When I arrived, there was easy access to free parking in front of the building and I texted Kimi (the owner) who quickly came out and led me to her room. She had all the safety measures in place such as a mask, hand sanitizer and gloves which made me feel comfortable and at ease. Kimi was very friendly and come to find out she used to be a barista and makes free espresso lattes for all her clients! I might come here just for a delicious caffeine fix when I'm in the area. Besides the amazing coffee it was the first time that I had ever been to a service where they used memory foam on the bed. It may seem like a small detail but my back always hurts after my sessions so this literally almost put me to sleep. The hair removal process consists of 3 natural ingredients; sugar, lemon and honey. You can actually eat her product if you want (don't worry I didn't eat it). Kimi was very friendly and made sure she addressed any concerns and answered all my questions before she started. I was nervous but to my surprise it was actually less painful and quicker than waxing! Another plus is that the pricing is very comparable to what I was paying for waxing minus all the chemicals of course. The entire experience from beginning to end was superb and I was happy to find out that she has different specials every month to show appreciation to her customers and help us save some money. I have officially given up waxing and highly recommend you do the same! read more

Sugar Bar - November 2020 special! - Sugaring Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

Omg Kimi is awesome! She's so friendly, is really detail oriented, and uses the best sugaring ingredients ever. The sugaring consistency is so good that it doesn't even hurt when being waxed. Also, she's always early or on time for her appointments. What's also nice is she has a lot of parking up front. I would definitely recommend her to everyone! read more

If anybody is looking for a Brazilian waxing procedure, I highly recommend giving Kimi a try. Today was my second visit with Kimi for a Brazilian and she did a great job - again. I wanted to wait for my second procedure before rating her on Yelp; and I must say I am totally happy to have found her on Yelp. She is professional and very friendly and easy to converse with. She makes you feel comfortable throughout the procedure and is always conscious of your reaction should she feel you may need to have her pause for a moment. * Thank you Kimi for your service. You have made me a loyal client for my Brazilian waxing. I look forward to my next appointment. read more

10/10 would recommend to get you right. Vi is a wonderful waxer and person. She waxes so gently y'all, come get at her!!

Let me start by saying that Kimi is amazing. She's so sweet and professional, I literally feel like I'm just talking stories with a friend. I was referred by a friend who had nothing but good things to say about her. She's located at The Bar Method just up the street from Rabbit Rabbit Tea near UH Manoa and there is ample parking. After parking you just text her to let her know that you're there and wait for her text to come upstairs, where she'll meet you at the door and take your temperature. Her room is very clean and it's so cute and spacious. I appreciate that there's a curtain that separates the bed and her wax station so you get a little bit of privacy while you undress (but just for a little while lol). I've been to her twice only for Brazilian waxes, but I don't think I'll ever go back to doing it myself. My first visit was the first time I've ever gotten professionally waxed and I was pretty nervous. It's awkward to think about having someone all up in such a private area, but Kimi made me feel so comfortable and talked to me throughout process, so time really flew by. You're literally in and out in no time. If you've been thinking about getting sugar waxed, do it. I highly recommend seeing Kimi for all your waxing needs. You definitely won't be disappointed. read more

Service is always excellent at the Sugar Bar. Environment and mood is peaceful and welcoming, and very clean. Taylor is always wonderful. I've gone in pretty regularly now for several months, and she (Taylor) has been consistently awesome. read more

Super-quick and thorough. Vi did a great job: skillful, knowledgeable, and great personality. I'll be coming back!

Kimi is amazing at her craft and is so knowledgeable! She works very fast, yet very thorough, and keeps the easy convo going to keep you distracted and comfortable throughout. Her space is also very clean and comfy. I'd never tried sugaring before when I first booked with her, and ngl that first session hurts! However, I'm completely converted now and have been going once or twice a month for a few months now. After years and years of shaving my super thick dark hair, I do notice my hair growing out more and more sparse and much thinner after each session. I look forward to my appointments every month and feel so confident and smooth when I walk out of there :) read more

Vi is amazing, she makes me feel super comfortable every time and does a clean job. Highly recommend it.

Vi is absolutely amazing! I've always been open to trying sugar wax but I never found the right place or esthetician to do it. Vi exceeds my expectations! I've tried different hair removal methods over the years and sugaring has been most gentle on the skin. Intrigued by the 5 star reviews and convenient location I decided to give Sugar Bar a try. The Sugar Bar is inviting and cozy. Kimi (the owner) follows thorough precautionary and sanitary procedures. Upon arrival, Kimi take your temperature and offer hand sanitizer. After several appointments, I am happy to say Kimi is warm, welcoming and friendly. She is always very polite and professional. I would highly recommend but schedule 2-3 weeks in advance because loyal clients such as myself fill slots quickly. read more

Kimi is wonderful and attentive to detail! I haven't been sugared in 5 years...after my favorite sugar specialist retired I gave up! Well what are the odds, Kimi is a protégé of my old sugar specialist! You aren't left with any stragglers, and she makes the whole ordeal quick and as painless as possible. I also love that she sends you home with a special package of witch hazel and a exfoliating cloth! Definitely the best in Honolulu by far!! read more
