So is there anything more local than a donut shop? Seemingly always privately owned and operated,…read moreby someone who rises way before the sun and creates magic while we all sleep. Or at least that's what I like to romanticize. My wife and I are kicking off donut Wednesday with a trip to Donut House on Morganford. I described ourselves to the proprietor as long-time passersby, first-time stopper in. We had been by Donut House 100s of times and decided to make Donut House our inaugural Donut Wednesday stop (we'll probably do every other or 1 out of 3 Wednesdays). We both have our favorites...hers blueberry cake, apple fritter, cinnamon roll. His...blueberry cake, apple fritter and a custard filled chocolate. Not disappointed at all, these donuts were great! The blueberry cakes were light, fluffy and blueberry bombs. The apple fritter was like a light, fluffy deep fried apple pie...great cinnamon and tart apple...maybe the best I've ever had. The custard filled chocolate is my personal litmus test...this one was good but not great. Could have used more custard BUT is there ever a bad donut??? NEVER. Glad we stopped in and will do so again. FYI there is seating inside and plenty of off street parking. Plus the light at Morganford / Seibert makes going an easy in / out. Oh and there is a drive thru...way too easy.

They were all very good. When I walked in, I was greeted by a very friendly gentleman. They had a wide selection of donuts to choose from. The apple fritter in the case was calling my name, but I decided I would wait and get that the next time. I will be back.

I usually get apple fritters, but decided the surprise bag would be a good & FUN way to branch out & try other donuts! I loved that the employee was excited for me!! It made me even more happy that he was happy, that I was happy loll. Overall, I'd highly recommend. Donuts were delish, including the jam filled one (considering I usually turn my head when offered one, usually too much jam & super messy to eat), and top notch customer service even if only a few words were spoken lol. ***Bonus tip...large-ish parking LOT for the area! I think there was about 12 parking spots on the LOT, then some additional street parking. This is a MAJOR plus in my book....my rims appreciate it not being parallel parking!

The service is the friendliest in town, and they're all just such nice humans. Highly recommend the Sunset Lotus, or really any of the lotus drinks. You can even ask the barista for recommendations as they've never steered me wrong. It's very cute on the inside, and worth snapping a pict for Instagram. It's a walk in and walk out place, so it's a great place to grab a drink and check out the other small businesses along Main Street.

The themed seasonal offerings are fun to try. Today I enjoyed the "Old News Latte" - espresso with brown sugar, toasted marshmallow syrup, oat milk. There are also some quick grab-and-go food items that go well with the coffee menu for breakfast. I'd like to try to visit later in the day for some of the other items on the food menu. No seating inside, but happy morning vibes. Such a cute space, with plenty of green and a tropical fish tank to take in while you wait to place your order- though the line moves quickly. They have some fun merch (think JavaSoks and stickers). Service is fast and friendly, and the ladies working always seem to be having a good time. This morning, they were in coordinating Halloween costumes. The Coffee Pot is a great addition to Columbia. :)

The moment you step into Diana's, you're wrapped in the warm, sweet aroma of a traditional panadería -- fresh breads, sugar-topped pastries, and that unmistakable feeling that everything here is made con amor. The pastry cases are a celebration of color and flavor -- pillowy conchas, golden empanadas, trays of vibrant pan dulce, and fresh breads like bolillos and telera rolls that practically beg to come home with you. Every bite feels authentic, comforting, and joyful -- the kind of baking that carries tradition in every crumb. The conchas are especially spectacular -- soft, lightly sweet, with that perfect sugary shell. Pair one with a cup of coffee and suddenly the whole morning feels like a little fiesta. I especially love popping in and picking up fresh bread for Sunday brunch. There's something about bringing home warm bolillos or sweet pastries that instantly turns brunch into a celebration. But what really makes Diana's shine is the spirit of the place. There's warmth, laughter, and that welcoming neighborhood energy that makes you want to linger just a little longer. The staff are so gracious and kind -- the kind of hospitality that makes you feel like familia. Diana's Bakery is more than a bakery.
