    Mango sago pomelo coconut!
    Suanne L.

SugaBox is a dessert cafe in Manhattan Chinatown specializing in fruity, not too sweet, Asian desserts. I wanted an after dinner pick me up and ordered a coconut pudding. It was light and refreshing and pretty. The cafe is casual, small and narrow, and has seating for a dozen people. When I went on a Thursday evening, it was pretty empty, and perfect for catching up on journaling while I waited for a friend. Clean, fast, tasty, and cute!

Stopped by SugaBox for a bubble tea. It was good overall and a nice refreshing treat. There were several flavors to choose from, and the drink was made quickly. The shop was clean, and the staff were friendly. Not the best bubble tea I've ever had, but a solid option if you're in the area and craving something sweet.

Ordered comb 3 for $20. It was a good snack and dessert for two! Comes with choice of milk tea, snack and the dessert bowl. Plenty of snacks to share.

Small location for drinks and snacks. There is currently a BOGO 50% off. I like their passionfruit drink as its not overly sweet. You can also opt to add additional toppings. My friend's yakult drink wasn't overly sweet as well. There is some seating if you decide to dine in. Ordering and service is friendly and quick.

Three sisters (lychee jelly instead of popping boba)

Stopped by at this small dessert shop for a sweet treat after dinner nearby. There's a handful of seats but when we came by it was still pretty empty, just a few other people eating. We got the "three sisters" which I liked! The jellies were very yummy without being too sweet, and I appreciated that they let me switch out the popping boba (hate!!) for lychee jelly haha. Portion size was pretty big (fair for the price) Would definitely come back :)

Came here for a quick bite of after-dinner sugar. We got the Pandas on Pandan. It was cute as a button but bland as.....a button? Anyway, it looked on point but lacked actual pandan or coconut flavor. Textures were nicely chewy, though, and the panda marshmallows themselves were sweet. If you don't care to 'gram your dessert, maybe try something else.

    Specials for the summer

It's a cute small dessert place in the heart of Chinatown. There's a a couple of places to sit inside but mostly it's a take out dessert place for shaved ices and other sweet treats. We got the special matcha shaved ice. The water melon and popping boba was sweet. The matcha flavor was strong. The ice had a slight creamy texture. The cool treat was perfect for a hot summer day. The staff was friendly.

This place was adorable, brightly light, and well decorated. I got the milk tea with boba and it was super good. Boba was the perfect consistency and the tea had great flavor. The staff was friendly and helped with any questions I had.

I've been wanting to try their pandas on Pandan for a while and glad I got to try it on a hot summer day. There's limited seating so that's something to keep in mind if coming here. This is actually a pretty decent sized portion and there's quite a bit of topping. I was always curious what the pandas tasted like, and it's marshmallows!

Visited this place for the first time and this is a super fun dessert to try. It's great for the summertime and will keep you cool. This chilled dessert came with mangoes, watermelon, jelly, and pudding. This option is dairy-free so i love that they had this option! The coconut milk was also super good and paired well with the dessert. I rarely see desserts like this in Chinatown so happy to hear that there's something like this now.

Roaming around and decided to stop by this Chinese dessert shop on a 90+ degree day in NYC. The shop is new! Opened maybe a few months. Small shop, friendly service and very clean. The desserts are sooo refreshing and just sweet enough. A welcome treat on this super hot day! Only wish was that they had a branch in Philly!

    GAVE ME THE WRONG ITEM!!!
    Christopher Y.

I would give them a zero if I could!!! I had placed an order over the phone, arrived at the location, paid and was given something completely different. I had ordered taro mochi (hot dessert) & was given taro mochi milk tea.... After I paid and was given the wrong item I wasn't even offered a refund or something to make the situation better. It's also a joke how this milk tea costed $8 and was a medium (which looks like a small) & the funniest part is, IT DIDNT EVEN COME WITH MOCHI!! What a scam/rip off!! The girl in the front who served it to me basically guilt tripped me into taking it saying "we don't have that on the menu sorry, this is what we made" (keep in mind it's on their menu loud and clear under hot desserts). I would've asked for a refund but there was a line and I didn't wanna hold it up. Very poor customer service & I WONT be coming back! Don't have items on the menu you don't serve anymore & don't guilt trip and force customers to take something they didn't order!

What a cute little shop! Service was fast and the dessert was cute and quite yummy! we ordered the pandas on Pandan and thread sisters dessert . The coconut milk came separately in a pouch for you to pour over your dessert. Choice of sago or bingfen jelly on the desserts as well. Both looked amazing. The noodle jelly was different and tasty. Very filling so can definitely share btw 2 people if you want . They do serve snacks as well but we were too full to eat it. Will have to try next time !

We walked into a casual setup with kiosk ordering that makes it easy to browse through the large menu and adjust your drink with different sweetness levels, toppings, and add-ons. The shop is more focused on quick visits rather than being a large café space, with some seating available but a feel that leans toward grabbing a drink while exploring the area. The variety of choices stood out, from fruit teas and slushies to matcha and specialty drinks. We tried the hojicha latte, which had a smooth roasted flavor and felt like a nice alternative to the usual matcha drinks. Their fruit-based drinks and slushies also stand out because they feel lighter and more refreshing, especially compared to heavier milk teas. The menu has a lot of creative combinations, so it feels like a place where you can keep trying different drinks instead of sticking to just one favorite. One thing we appreciated about Jooy Tea Shoppe is how customizable the ordering process is. The kiosk system makes ordering simple, especially when the menu has so many options that it would otherwise take longer to decide, and it makes it easier to experiment with different combinations. The pricing is a little higher compared to some traditional bubble tea shops, especially after adding toppings, but the drink selection and specialty options help make it feel different from a standard boba stop. The variety is probably the biggest reason to come here since there are many flavors that are not as common elsewhere. The service was efficient and the ordering process kept things moving, though the wait can depend on the crowd. Jooy Tea Shoppe is a fun bubble tea spot with a wide selection of drinks and plenty of customization options. The creative menu, fruit teas, matcha options, and seasonal flavors make it a good place to visit when you want something more unique than a regular milk tea. It offers a thoughtful, customizable drink experience that rewards exploration and repeat visits.

The result is a drink with warm boba at the bottom and cool milk and ice at the top in addition to your flavors of choice. I had the brown sugar boba with oat milk, and I liked it. To make it non-dairy, I skipped the cream on top, so my drink looked a little different than the pictures, yet it was still yummy. The indoor tables are standing only which works well given the busy area. The staff is cordial and somewhat aloof but it works because the customers are literally watching them make the drinks which is a very fascinating process. The aesthetics of the store are minimal but still stylish. Most decor is white and black with pops of red here and there as the accent color, and everything is clean.
