Our waiter recommended a great bottle of wine which we finished very quickly :) I had the french onion soup which was to die for and my steak, even though a little more rare than I would like, was sooo juicy! We were seated outside and it started to rain and I panicked. But the waiter just rolled out the canopy and the good times continued to roll. Found this little gem on Yelp and stopped in for dinner my first night in Paris. Loved it so much that I came back for two more dinners. The servers were all very patient with me and spoke English. The food was delicious and the other customers were friendly and gave me suggestions on what to order for food and drink. Didn't get the courage to try the escargots, but enjoyed watching other patrons maneuver the escargot tongs. On the last night, some locals helped me order a "spritz," a drink made with Prosecco and Perrier sparkling water. Overall, a pleasant experience for an English speaking visitor. read more

We come here everytime we are in Paris, as its my aunt's local brasserie. What to say except this is exactly what you would want in a brasserie. Classic menu withclassic french dishes very well done. I discovered this place when I was in Paris about 4 years ago. Now I end up here every time I'm near the Eiffel tower. Many tourists seem to find this place but its never to busy. The prices are what you expect from an establishment so near an iconic landmark. Still it's a great place to replenish your energy after a long walk through the city with all the typical Parisian cafe clichés you'll wish to have. read more

Had my very first meal in France here. The staff was welcoming, our waitress was extremely kind even though the place was very busy and she seemed to be the only server in our section. The tables were very close together but we did not mind it added to the atmosphere and the people watching. This Parisian restaurant was extremely close to our hotel so my fiance and I had dined here twice during our stay. I agree with all the Yelpers that the seafood platter here is absolutely amazing. I have never seen anything like it! It comes with crab claws, prawns, shrimp, oysters & etc. Although it cost quite a bit, it was well worth the experience and everyone who walked by was practically drooling at our table. The service was horrible compared to "American" standards but beyond exceptional for "European." I still can't get over the fact how horrible the service is in Paris. i would be more than willing to pay 20% tip as long as they check up on my table from time to time..... read more

We had a wonderful lunch here today. My husband had a Caesar salad with grilled chicken. I thought, it would be boring but it was delightful. The salad was served on a plate of dressing drizzled with balsamic vinegar. The chicken was juicy and very tender. I went for the oysters and mussels with tomato, garlic and white wine. Wow, stopped for lunch and it was amazing. Oysters were delicious, we each ordered a diff entree, lamb, sea bass, Hake, and mushroom pasta!

As many others have already said, there are far better choices in the area. The atmosphere and wait staff were good but where the rubber hits the road, THE PLATE, they are definitely lacking. Looking around the room it appears that shellfish may be something they do quite well. I had the thinnest, driest sea bass you can imagine. At first they served us a basket of something I thought was impossible in Paris, bad baguette. I noticed several other tables had sliced bread of two varieties and asked for some. It was very good. My first menu choice from the daily specials was already not available at 8:15. My wife did enjoy her curried chicken but her apple dessert was below average. Enjoy a drink or two outside and move on down Avenue de la Motte-Piquet for dinner. read more

Nice, but not the right choice unless you're eating early in the evening (few other choices before 8pm). Arrived in Paris in the morning, toured all day, then wanted dinner and to crash. At 6pm, there are few choices. I had the terrine de lapin, then medallions of veal, with a nice bottle of Brouilly. It's a busy brasserie with good service. I see the mixed reviews about service, but we had a very pleasant waiter who was more than willing to speak to us in English. We ordered jumbo snails (when in France...). This was my first time having snails and I thought they were damn good. For my main dish I ordered the curry chicken. It came steaming hot over a bed of rice and it was delicious. English speakers did not appear to be welcomed here. We attempted albeit poor French but were treated with annoyance and received poor service. We did not get water or wine refilled and watched the waiter go by us numerous times without checking in or offering service. Food was decent but felt like they did not want or care to have us as customers. We were part of a Rick Steve's tour and this was a significant departure from the kindness we encountered elsewhere on the trip. Tourist dollars can be better spent elsewhere. read more

I am leery of any commercial business near tourist attractions, so when someone tipped me off to this place I was more optimistic, and was not disappointed. Very friendly greeting. Excellent small menus - I always have better luck with restaurants with small menus it seems. I ate the fish soup which was one of the best I have had, followed a plate of French cheese and bread. I knew the soup will be very filling, so skipped the entree. My colleagues ordered seafood main courses and were very pleased. From my understanding the menus come in a variety of languages and the waiters are very kind and are willing to figure out what you are trying to say. Way too expensive for the average, not-homemade cuisine that is served here. I had the €16 Italian salad and the €10 apple pie- my salad was full of canned vegetables and I had to wait 20 minutes before I got served bread, and there was Apple skin all over my pie, making the texture unpleasant. My husband and I blindly stopped into eat as everything on our first day in Paris was so overwhelming. Our overwhelmed feeling was quite instantly melted away with the cold service that was provided. The staff was for the most part, not friendly, unless they were making fun of us in French to those eating beside us. Then, there was laughter. We are Americans and tried to eat here for breakfast and the staff was incredibly rude to us and would not serve us. We tried to order water and coffee and took 20 minutes and then they took our breakfast menu away from us because he said they were no longer serving breakfast even though we tried to order prior and he would not attend to us. I love it here! I used to live up the street and never went in until we came back to visit Paris a few years later. We ate here just after my husband proposed on the Eiffel Tower! Maybe that is why it tasted so good hehe. We had oysters on the half shell...so yummy!! I love the vinegar with shallots and pepper. Coffee was good, if you are looking for something like a flat white (hard to find in any country other then Australia) get the double espresso with milk. I went to Suffern for lunch on 06/29. We arrived around 11:00 a.m. The first waiter that greeted us was super nice and he was wearing black and white. The waiter that wore all black with white/gray hair was vey rude to us from the moment we sat down.
