I have a bridezilla who is adamant about the entire bridal party getting alterations - I walk in and sue was so honest with me! She watches the dress as I walk around and says, "The dress fits perfect!" No alterations needed! This woman could have charged me lord know what for cutting a millimeter off but she chose not to :) I think this speaks more to the character of the business than its tangible abilities but honestly, if your character is in order I have no reason to believe your work isn't. This is the 2nd time I have gone to Sue's Alterations. Not only is Sue so friendly, the staff is too. I took 2 pairs of my husband's baseball pants in to be hemmed and elastic added to bottoms of the legs. He couldn't come so I took a older pair he wears with me and asked they be done the same. Sue said yes she could do and gave me a date for completion of 9 days later which was fine. I received a text from her 2 days later that she was finished with the pants. I am and husband too very happy with the value and care put into both pairs of pants along with the speediness that she put into getting them done!! If I need any other alterations done in the future I will definitely go back and highly recommend Sue! read more

Wonderful staff and wonderful work! A friend of mine took her wedding dress to Sue to get altered and was very pleased with the work, so I followed her lead and took my bridesmaid's dress there, too. I brought it in about 2 weeks before the wedding, and received a text from Sue less than a week later that my dress was ready! This was during the peak of prom season. My dress didn't need much work, just a hem and the straps shortened. I believe the hem was $60 and the straps were $15. Not bad! She explained everything to me prior to doing any work. Her work was clean, and my dress fit me perfectly. The length was great with the shoes I brought in to the shop. Everybody at the shop is super friendly and helpful. The shop is small and only has two dressing rooms. However, Sue and her team work quickly and efficiently, so wait time is little to none. I will definitely use Sue again in the future! read more

They tailored my dress just as wanted but added an additional cost without telling me first. The price was already expensive, if they would of told me about the additional cost I would have never asked for it but then I got stuck having to pay in order to pick up my dress. Alterations came out beautifully, wondering why 2 stars then? While their craft work is wonderful, their bedside manner is not. I got a hem down on my bridesmaid dress, but there was a problem with the zipper. Every get that problem where the teeth of the zipper is coming off the hem so when it's going up it doesn't close? Yea, I had that problem, and she refused to fix it. When I presented this issue to her, she said it would go up bc it was too tight. Basically, calling me fat. Oh, and guess what the zipper when up perfectly fine. Anyways, she's a good seamstress, but the bedside manner is not so much, especially for a being a customer service kind of job. read more

I would give them a solid 3 1/2 stars with the current pricing. We paid $78 to have a jacket altered simply bringing in the waist a little bit. Compared to other alterations places the price is about double and while the quality work is great just can't justify that much of a price difference. If the prices were more aligned to be a solid five star experience. I wish I would've asked price on the phone. read more

To say how wonderful Sue is is an understatement! I brought my very sequin-detailed wedding dress to sue in January for length only alterations because I had seen what great reviews she had received. I even drove 30+ minutes to her shop because of the high recommendations in hopes she would do a great job on my dress...totally worth it!! Sue greeted me immediately in her very cute shop and asked me about my alteration needs. She let me try on my wedding dress in the store and pinned the dress in the perfect areas for my short height (I'm 5'1 and this dress was made for someone at least 5'5). She was very customer oriented and asked about my Big Day the whole time. Within only 2 weeks Sue had my wedding dress ready to go!! Sue even was tech-savvy enough to send me a text about my dress being done, which was a nice touch! I was shocked because of all the fine detail, but I was amazed at her work when I returned to try on the dress. It fit perfect! Pricing was adequate for what I felt like was a lot of fine detail for a seamstress ($95). Sue was so customer oriented and even hugged me when she handed me my dress on the way out like I was family! Loved being her customer so much! read more

Wow. Just had my third gown altered at Sue's. She is phenomenal. She literally had to redesign the back of one gown to make it work, and did an outstanding job. The latest alteration is another redesign - she is doing hand stitched shaped lace on the trumpet hem of a dress. Yes, she does wonderful tailoring on shirts and can replace zippers and hem jeans, but her real magic is her knowledge of fabric and fit, and her ability to reshape to perfection. At great prices!!!! Decided to give this shop a try. BAD...BAD..DECISION. Very disappointed in her pricing. Had 5 patches sewn on a vest. Was quoted $38-$40, which was within the price I paid with another alteration facility. Had to drop it off and was told to pick it up 2 days later. Went to pick it up, the price doubled, what was supposed to be $38-$40 turned into $70!!!!!!. I could have had this done for half the price elsewhere. I got my daughter's homecoming dress altered with Sue. She is extremely sweet which was very important to us. My daughter is very particular and she loved her. She had great ideas of how to alter the dress without breaking the bank. She had an ingenious idea of how to handle the train in the back where she could still function and dance and still look beautiful. She is more than competent at her craft (A veteran alterator obviously) but we were most impressed by how kind and sweet she was. Her sister was also very nice. Have had clothes taken in and out and coat sleeves shortened, etc there. She always does a good job. Just make sure you bring cash, as she doesn't take credit cards.... It's not very millennial friendly to have an all cash business, so I think she would loose money to people who simply don't carry cash like myself. Sue is absolutely great! I stopped by on a Tuesday, two days before she had to go out of town for a wedding. I told her i needed a pair of wide leg pants hemmed by this weekend. I figured she'd send me somewhere else Bc she'd be busy with getting out orders before her trip. Nope, Sue took my pants and promised me they'd be ready the next day by 3. The only good thing was it was a fast turn around. My daughter's 350 dollar dress was 140 to hem including a shoulder tuck. The dress had a large make up stain on the front when we picked it up. Someone there rubbed up against the dress. My daughter doesn't wear make up and steps into the dress. I will not use this shop again. read more

Highly recommend! I brought my first suit to her and she did a wonderful job giving me the look I was going for. I ended up having to bring my pants back for further adjustment. However, it was my first time and I believe I didn't specify enough about the fit so it was my fault. She took them back, quickly adjusted them, and then didn't even charge me! I took 10 pairs of pants in for alterations on both length and waist as needed. The quality of the alterations was excellent! My only caveat is to make sure you get a written quote on the work to avoid possible confusion. I thought the original price quoted was $9 a pair. But the price charged was $9 a pair for the cuffs PLUS $16 a pair for the waists. Perhaps I just misunderstood, but a word to the wise is sufficient. read more

Sue is the business owner and the man who did the altering used to work in NYC, I'm sure doing work for Wall Street types.
