I stopped in to Sucre Table yesterday and overall I'm very impressed with the selection and quality. *Although it's a solid 4.5 stars for me I'm not sure that I can actually give it a half star.* This was my first time visiting but I've had pastries from them before. I think the macarons are good but I feel like I've had better macarons from other places. I ordered the strawberry Japanese cheesecake, chocolate praline, chocolate croissant, XL pistachio croissant and an iced lavender latte. My favorites were the chocolate croissant and strawberry Japanese cheesecake. The pistachio croissant had a really good filling; the pistachio flavor wasn't as strong as I had wanted it to be and the outside wasn't as crispy on the outside as I was hoping/thinking it would be. I'm usually not a big fan of cheesecake because I find it too rich but this isn't and it's not overly sweet either. I had seen a few people recommend the chocolate praline and it was very good and not too rich like I was thinking it would be. Other reviewers mentioned that the pastries are a bit pricey and that the lattes are ok. I agree that the pastries are on the expensive side, but I can also tell that they're made with quality ingredients and think it's worth it once in a while. The latte was good but similar to the macarons I've had better lattes at other places. I'm looking forward to coming back to try out more things! read more

Kouign-Amann. I cannot pronounce the name of this mind blowing pastry, but it is the number one item on the menu that you must order at Sucre Table!!! This rich and buttery pastry has many layers and the name literally translates to "cake of butter". It's so rich and heavenly and worth every single calorie! Everything I have tried at Sucre Table has been amazing so far. The croissants, the chocolate croissants, the cinnamon apple brandy rolls and the kouign amann are all amazing. The breakfast sandwich I ordered was one of the best I have had. The sandwich included eggs, honey caramel bacon, and smoked gouda on a soft and buttery croissant. Other than the breakfast sandwich and pastries I have yet to try anything else, but it's only a matter of time before I return for a slice of the goat cheese carrot cake. read more

I would never expect this bakery to be located in this type of plaza. The desserts are so elaborate looking you would think it should be at Hyde Park or something similar. I've only heard good things and was dying to try the white chocolate pistachio latte. The coffee machine was broken! I went with a matcha latte and the smoked gouda bacon egg sandwich. The sandwich was so good I forgot to take a picture to post on the review. The matcha was good I just wished it had a vanilla flavor to it. I also got a pistachio croissant which was sooo big. This is my favorite bakery ever! The best way to describe the sweets is balanced! The ever changing croissant muffin fillings are amazing. Sweet buttery balanced!! Their goat cheese carrot cake is amazing. The goat cheese is sweet but not overly sweet and whipped so light you don't feel the goat cheese. It's the same with the sage chocolate cake. Many times chocolate icing can be too sweet but this icing is balanced. What I love most is how gorgeous the sweets are. So inventive. They are pieces of art. The st. Germaine matcha cake has got to be the coolest little dessert. I love how nice the man at the front is as well. He is very helpful and is great with coffee pairings for the different desserts. First of all, I have noticed that a new place was opening soon in my area but I did not know it was a bakery. So, this week, I saw that a new bakery was opening on Kennedy & then, I figured out where it was. When I walked in, I was greeted right away. I noticed the bakery case right. Chef Brenda has created a nice oasis to eat some pastries & have a good conversation. I ordered the pecan sticky bun and boozy chocolate orange. The boozy chocolate orange is very sophisticated & light. The chocolate is so good & inside was creamy with the boozy taste. It's excellent. The pecan sticky bun was crunchy & just the right amount of pecans. The bottom of the sticky bun has a caramel which is yummy. Go check out Chef Brenda who is super sweet. Omg this dessert was the best tart I've ever had. My sister took me here and during the time they had ran out of most pastries. But we got this yuzu tart and almond bear claw and it was fantastic. Totally recommend. It's on the expensive side. I think the tart was $17 but it was so good that I got another to take home. Very cute interior. Visiting the Sucre Table has been on my list for the past year or so. Two weeks ago was my BF's bday so we stopped in on a Saturday Morning for some coffee / bite to eat and I am so glad that we did! I could smell the bakery from the parking lot. It was divine. Walking in, there are a couple of outdoor dining tables, but what makes it special is on the inside. The space is modern/minimalist, but with a cozy feel. We both ordered the honey caramel bacon,smoked Gouda and egg croissant sandwich. I think it might be the BEST thing I've ever had and I MEAN IT. I went back the next Saturday and ordered it again! The croissant is a perfect pillow of buttery gold that holds a heavenly combination of savory with a hint of sweet. I also had a cafe con leche too. Perfect pairing! The total was about $30. For the quality, attention to detail, and intention you have no doubt goes into the creation process, it is well worth the price! The barista was very friendly and knowledgable. It's worth all the hype! It's a bit expensive but worth it because of the quality and delicious-ness you will consistently receive! I've tried their cakes and individual desserts and they are good. But I personally think the croissants/croissant-based items are the real standout items worth getting here! They are far superior to any bakery in the area and are on par with some of the best croissants I've had in the likes of D.C., NY, London, and Paris. The drinks are also really delcious, but I'm not sure I can recommend a $9 latte with good conscience, no matter how good it is read more

Came here for the Kouign-amann and was not disappointed. Truest queen of butter and sugar and laminated dough. Butter me up and call me a croissant because I'm telling you that I'm a connoisseur and these were perfect. Since everyone is so braggadocious, I too have been to Paris and eaten my way through many a pastry case and Sucre Table holds its own! I also got the s'mores cruffin and it was overwhelmingly decadent. The cheesecake was amazing and the lychee tart bowled me over! I had placed this bakery in my "Must Try" Collection months ago due to its excellent reviews & my love for anything sweet. Today I was in the area on business & decided to stop in. I'm happy I did. This sweet shoppe is open Tues thru Friday 9 AM to 5 PM, & Saturdays from 10 AM to 6 PM. Owner & award-winning pastry Chef Brenda is professionally trained in French pastries, which is apparent w/ each bite of her beautiful creations. She is a two-time Food Network Challenge Winner. She is also a graduate of the esteemed Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. Due to her desire for others to "indulge in the true meaning of the art of pastries," she masters in "modern, minimalist & flavorful" decedent creations. The menu includes 8 pastries & 3 cake slices. The $10 Chocolate Praline was WONDERFUL w/ its salted caramel; chocolate; creme brulee; & hazelnut. (It didn't make it all the way home:). The Devils Blackberry Cake slice @ $12 w/ its blackberry marmalade mousse & fresh blackberries was just as DELICIOUS. It was so RICH that I stopped after two bites. The menu includes 11 baked goods. The $8.50 Triple Chocolate Bread Pudding was VERY GOOD. (A sweet sauce on top would have made it even better.) After reading other reviews, I obviously need to return to try the Kouign-Amann @ $5, which is a Breton Cake. It's often described as "the fattiest cake in all of Europe." (It's essentially a sweet & salty buttery cake w/ a caramelized crust.) This is a new business (at least for me) that specializes in designer desserts. Although I haven't been in the store (my roommate was nice enough to bring me what you see in the photo) I would recommend any business that can create such designs and with very flavorful food. The miniature loaf to the right is a very lightly sweetened meringue with the same fluffy consistency I remember from my mother's lemon meringue pie. The underlying wafer, although appearing solid, has a mouth feel resembling angel food cake while the pinkish layer over it takes on the flavor of the raspberry garnish. After reading the wonderful reviews my husband and I decided to have a morning date here. We love pastries and these did not disappoint! I had the chocolate croissant and I tried a bite of my husbands bread pudding as well... I can't remember the exact name of the flavor but I believe it had a rum infused glaze. Both were delightful and not too sweet but full of flavor. The espresso was also nice. My only complaint is I ordered a cortado and believe I got a machiatto instead. I enjoyed my drink so I won't take off stars for that. The interior was my kind of style! Love the plants and decor. All the 5 star reviews are totally on point. I've never actually said this before, but I would give Sucre Table more stars if I could. I never say that about any bakery. I am kicking myself for not visiting sooner. I've honestly had this place bookmarked for a while, and I'm so glad I finally got to try it. So, it's in that old strip mall where the Little Donut Shop used to be on Kennedy Blvd. It's in the same plaza as Chicken Salad Chick, Poke Burri, and Revolution Ice Cream. It's also across the street from La Segunda Bakery. If you haven't been to Sucre Table yet then you're in for a big treat. Seriously, these are high end, quality pastries with a beautiful presentation. The kind of pastries you can give as gifts because they are so beautifully decorated, and that's only if you think they will make it to their destination. I'm not gifting any of it. It would all be for me. Let me first start with the kouign-amann (KA) pastry. WOW!! I loved it so much that I bought another to take with me. I did not share it with anyone. I had it for breakfast this morning after heating it up in the oven and it was just as good as the day before. I've heard about this pastry before but never actually had one until this visit. All I know is that it originally comes from Brittany which is a part of France that I haven't visited yet. I'm putting it on my bucket list because now I'm obsessed with learning more about pastries from that region. I think I may even watch episode 7 of collection 1 of the Netflix series "The Great British Baking Show" to see how the KA pastry is made. Anyway, this buttery and sugary layered pastry is a denser version of the Dominique Ansel cronut. My description doesn't even give it justice. Just read about it. Chef Brenda is extremely talented and has worked in the best NYC bakeries. What can I say? I also had to try the sour sop passion fruit tart. Another WOW!! The natural flavor of the tart passion fruit along with the sweet cream layer of guanabana made this the perfect ending for me. I enjoyed savoring every last crumb off that plate. A perfect 10. The ube spiced latte was also a winner. It was made with coconut milk which really brought out the flavors. It's limited and it's not even on the menu at the moment, but they were able to make it for me. I appreciated that because it was one of the chai drinks that I wanted to try. Oh, and everyone was so helpful and friendly from the counter associate, to the barista, and to the owner/chef who was also there tending to her business. The tables are spaced apart and they even had a few tables outside. The décor and ambiance makes it a very relaxing and classy place to have a pastry with your coffee or tea preparation. They also have savory croissants, quiche, and soufflé. There's an online preorder menu and they take custom cake orders with some really unique cake fillings. Let me start by saying that I'm judging Sucre Table not in comparison to other spots in Tampa, but based on my own experiences. Living in LA, there's no shortage of amazing bakeries and patisseries-- so while Sucre Table is good, there's definite room for improvement. I arrived right when they opened at 9 AM on a weekday. Unfortunately, that day there were issues with the oven, so none of the baked goods were out yet. They also weren't making any kouign amann that day, which was a slight disappointment. I didn't want to drive all that way just to return empty handed, so I opted to wait the 15 minutes for a fresh croissant. I also ordered the croissant sandwich, the pistachio tiramisu, and the goat cheese carrot cake. Let's break it down: * Goat Cheese Carrot Cake: there's two types of icing on this cake-- a regular icing around the cake and the goat cheese icing for the middle layers. The slice of cake itself is beautiful and while I like the goat cheese icing, I thought the carrot cake was just ok. Also the ratio of icing to cake was a little too heavy on the icing for me personally. * Pistachio tiramisu: Once again a beautiful presentation! The coffee flavor was good, but I didn't feel like the pistachio flavor was incorporated well. In fact, it seemed superfluous and that it might actually be better without it, which surprised me given I love pistachios. * Croissant sandwich: My favorite of all the items. My sister, who I split this with, thought it was a little too sweet with the caramel, but I felt like it really hit the spot. I would go back and order it again. * Plain croissant: Very buttery and flaky, but not out of this world. If I was craving a croissant I would order it again, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. Price-wise, I did feel like it was a little bit expensive but it's because of the quality and honestly the fact that most restaurants undercharge. However, I was surprised they open at 9 AM as a bakery-- it's their prerogative, but I would love to see an 8 AM opening. read more

The most consistently delicious french bakery in Tampa. I'm from Montreal so finding a good french bakery is quite difficult here. I stumbled upon this bakery at the beginning of covid in March, when I was actually going to the Little Donut Shop (which ended up being replaced with this bakery). The owner and pastry chef, Brenda, is a lovely person and her pastries really show how much she enjoys baking and creating art with her pastries. I've had a good chunk of her dishes and here's my review on each one. I will continuously update with each dish I try there! Croissant: The best croissant in tampa! Wonderfully moist and buttery while having a crispy exterior. This is how a croissant should be. The price is a bit high per croissant, but the quality speaks for itself. 5/5 Honey Caramel Bacon Breakfast Sandwich- MUST TRY, that is all. 5/5 Spinach Gruyère Quiche (no picture): wonderful crust with a rich, cheesy quiche filling. 5/5 Kouign Amann (no picture): this is impossible to find in tampa (only in two places including Sucré Table) so thank you for bringing this lovely pastry here. It's a croissant with a caramelized exterior. Amazing 5/5. Goat cheese Carrot Cake: probably my least favourite dish here. The cake was amazing but the goat cheese icing was definitely a peculiar taste. It has a gorgeous presentation though! 3/5 Chocolate Banana Praline Croissant Muffin: this was a very good muffin. Only critique I have is the caramel mixed with the banana was a bit Smokey in flavour so that was a bit interesting. The chocolate hazelnut cream was amazing (like a Guylien Chocolate seashell) 4/5 Pistachio Croissant Muffin (no picture): a must have if you love pistachio! My favourite flavour croissant muffin! 5/5 Pistachio Macaron: a very good macaron but the macaron texture was less chewy and more crispy when I had it. The filling reminded me too much of icing, which I don't prefer in between macarons but the pistachio flavour was there. 4/5 Pumpkin Pie: Absolutely moist, delicious and creamy- but not so creamy that you can't have too much. The crust was to die for. 5/5 Apple Caramel Pie: Beautiful, delicious, tart, sweet and theres gold on it!! Wonderfully butter crust compliments the filling so well! 5/5 Gâteau Basque: This is not something you see in tampa a lot. This was the first gâteau basque I've had and I love it!! There was a layer of Amoretti Cherries! Everyone loved this cake. The custard was super tall and reminded me of a fruit tart custard, which is light and not too sweet! The layer of cherries was a nice touch. And look how beautiful the cake is with the gold on the blood red cherries. 5/5 read more

Croissants are excellent, but for a place to advertise and promote their excellent coffee, with coffee on the walls etc, and they couldn't make a correct coffee...then you have a bit of a problem. Nice place with nice music, friendly staff, but I came here for a nice coffee with a croissant. It's a $7++ for a croissant and $5++ for a coffee, it's supposed to be high end coffee. 1st time here but the persons with me today says it's usually not like this, hope she's right.
