I asked the employee if I could use the restroom and he told me that it was for employees only. I had just finished purchasing food and told him that I urgently needed to use it. He told me I can go to the laundry mat that is two businesses down. It amazes me that a restaurant that is serving food does not have a restroom for paying customers. Where are customers supposed to wash their hands before they eat? I'm not sure if that's even legal. When I went to the laundry mat they told me the restroom is only for customers washing. I ordered 2 sandwiches using DoorDash. Meatball and Steak. The meatball was good and hot. The steak (if you could call it a steak) was somehow cold and completely botched. I ordered a Hot Steak sandwich and they sent me a cold Vegetable sub with a sprinkling of steak as topping? $8 for that? Mistakes happen, I get it. But that's a straight up treason. Trying to short change me because I used a delivery service? Not standing over your worker making sure they're doing they're job? I wasn't planning on writing a review for this place because it didn't urge me to write one until now. I've came here three times, and I've gotten the cheddar broccoli soup twice within a week or so time gap in between each visit. I had no issues with their sandwiches or their service, but the soup is what really gets me! I don't know if it's dirty or how it's made, but I've had stomach problems on both occasions. I feel like I'm experiencing food poisoning symptoms, and then the next moment I'm on the toilet releasing whatever is in me! TMI because that's how bad it is. I've come to the conclusion that people should stay away from this soup. If you've had it and didn't have any problems, then lucky you. For me, this soup is my worst enemy. read more

Despite there being four of us in a store the ladies behind the counter were quick to help us. I asked for my sandwhich toasted and it came out a little black around the edges but I didn't taste any of it so that was fine with me. When I asked for toppings I specified I wanted "three onions and a little Mayo and mustard." She took a handful of onions and threw them on my sandwhich then proceeded to put the same amount of mustard and Mayo as she did on my husbands sandwhich. I'm finally understanding that certain parts of Whittier are kinda rough around the edges. Some parts of town are much older, even though new businesses sprout up in other areas. Still, it would be nice to see an occasional smile or two, maybe a hello here and there. No luck at this Subway location. Not even a simple greeting, just a slight grunt of what appeared to be the words - "what would you like?" No expression or energy, just what appeared to be body language in the form of - "hurry up and tell me if you want your bread toasted and what condiments do you want on your hoagie?" There are some formalities to any job, but I don't know if this person is having a bad day or maybe their mind is on something else. But, I thought that a business would appreciate their customers in order to have them back for future visits. I went to this location today and I was told that I had to pay extra money to have my bread toasted!! I found that to be very suspicious in addition when I inquired of the cost she did not know. This subway is conveniently located for me. I can easily pick it up on the way home from work. They keep the inside clean and neat. The parking in front is limited. There is a laundry mat next door so the parking fills up fast. The service has always been nice. I was just in here the other day and ordered sandwiches to go. I was in a bit of a rush since I had to be somewhere so I walked out pretty fast once I got my sandwiches. The lady came running out because I didn't grab the cookies I purchased. I thought that was great customer service on her part that she remembered and got me before I left. Sandwiches are getting pricier, as is the rest of the world. Quality of sandwiches is good, but I feel it depends a lot on how the employee makes it. Sometimes they can get really sloppy or not add enough sauce and it's dry.
