Beautiful old inn dining room right on main street in cute Princess Anne…read more Selective menu and with food and atmosphere that felt upscale but prices and portions not that fancy. Attentive (not too) service. Oyster appetizer, rockfish main (split) filled us and left us with happy moans at each bite. They happily split the entree and the portion was plenty.

If historic old hotels (c. 1744) in backwater towns are your jam, Sugar Water is singing your siren…read moresong. George may not have slept here, but he may have stopped by for Sunday brunch on occasion during his Yorktown Campaign or his presidency. The Washington Hotel bears his name and it has been rehabilitated and maintained in colonial style to feel genuine and welcoming. When I walked in they were doing a bridal shower, so I grabbed a stool in the barroom near the back kitchen. Service was amenable despite working their tooshies off for the bridal party. I didn't mind waiting and having a break from the long drive home from Newport News. There were several ghosts accompanying me at the bar. The food was excellent. Veggie Omelet and Potato Hash were both farm to table fresh, and the coffee was brisk and hot. Worth the wait. The hotel was as much museum as bed & breakfast. Tons of charm without being gitchee. And, right off Route 13 on the Eastern Shore. Easy on and off. Five Historic Stars for Sugar Water and the Washington Hotel.

Had this place on my list to visit && so glad I went to my nephew basketball game at the school. As…read moreI rode by I knew i'd be zipping by on my way out! I got the Beyond burger and let me tell you... IT WAS HUGE! So fresh with all the toppings and be prepared it takes a while to make but worth every minute of wait (to the point I thought mine wasn't being made LOL). I got mine with onion rings and let me say i can't wait to get those again! I also added the dipping sauce to try since why not?! My family got the BLT, steak && cheese sub, and shrimp basket. Everyone CRUSHED! They don't skimp on the fries w each meal either. You are going to be full. Cute 'I Love Lucy' themed spot with the can in the parking lot. I wish i could special request tuna because i know it'd be amazing! THANK YOU NYID

Another 5 star review. These sandwiches are massive. They come in 11 in and 7 in. They are packed…read moreto the BRIM. Everything has the most intense flavor. The Castellano had a crisped pile of gorgeous beef, with crispy fries, and super fresh veggies (basically a cheeseburger on a sub). My husband ordered this one, so I didn't taste it personally but he absolutely LOVED it. The Thommy, The Three Fingers is a chopped cheese. It's, by god, the best I've ever had in my life. I add peppers, provolone and mayo and an extra side of tzatziki (labeled garlic cucumber on the menu), and oil and vinegar (which tastes like Italian dressing, but who's counting?). The bread is phenomenal. I may literally just order a sub roll with no ingredients one day, just so I can eat it toasted with butter, with every meal I have. It's soft and fluffy, crispy and chewy all at the same time. (It almost gives bagel, but not tough). I also got the y cheesecake. Not as special, perhaps from the Cysco truck (iykyk), but I still bought it and scarfed it down. Strawberry topping was def the average canned-strawberry topping (but I personally love that). I cannot stress, the food is OUT OF THIS WORLD! As for service, the entire team is so friendly and helpful. They kid around, make silly jokes and make sure your order is prepared fresh and fast. It isn't "fast food fast", but also doesn't taste like shit either, so the wait is worth it. At most 10-15 min if you don't call ahead. As for seating, in winter there are only two two-tops so seating is extremely limited. It is mostly a deli-and-get-outta-here kind of place, but nonetheless welcoming and charming. They have tons of Italian memorabilia all over the walls including giant GodFather posters, taxi plates and more. Today was my first time inside, but I've had my husband go pick up food several times on the way home. I cannot live without one of these subs AT MINIMUM once a month.
