We stopped in for lunch and were treated to an excellent meal. The menu is quite extensive, keeping with the "diner" theme but everything we had was top notch. The cream of broccoli soup was piping hot, thick and creamy. The club sandwich came with a very thick serving of sliced, tender turkey breast. The Greek salad should be considered a specialty of the house. I had it with the grilled chicken. The chicken was succulent, obviously coming from a savory marinade and grilled to perfection. The salad came with generous portions of feta cheese and kalamata olives and was topped with two stuffed grape leaves (dolmades.) Altogether, it was enough for two. Service was gracious and friendly. This is one of those places where everything is cooked in butter -- which makes it delicious. We couldn't have been more pleased with our brunch on our drive back from the beach. Looks like a just a pizzeria, but what a GREAT breakfast! The sausage gravy is excellent! (Almost as good as my husband's!) The lightly scrambled eggs were PERFECT and lightly scrambled as ordered. We just left Roma's with 11 stuffed and happy bellies! We had 6 adults, 4 kids and 1 toddler. Our order was taken quickly - with everything from pizzas, an omelet, burger and sandwich. Pleasantly surprised! A hidden gem in Nelsonia. Extremely clean throughout, including the restrooms, unlike other establishments on the Rt. 13 corridor. Very friendly staff and attentive. I had the Italian Omelette and my wife went with her go to two eggs and bacon. Omelette was good and very cheesy. Bacon was cooked just to my wife's liking. I was so disappointed today. Went for lunch at Roma's and ordered my usual Buffalo Chicken Salad. Instead I was brought a regular chicken salad. I told the server my order was incorrect and she agreed, then returned it to the kitchen. Instead of preparing a new one correctly, the cook simply doused hot sauce all over the chicken and sent it back out. No roasted peppers, no melted mozzarella, and there was so much hot sauce I had to push the chicken back and mix part of the lettuce with salad dressing just to make it edible. This is NOT what I have come to expect from this restaurant, but if that's the new standard of service I'm very doubtful if the new improvements will matter much. read more

Not a great experience. Wife ordered side of crab soup and said the base was flour and tasteless. She also ordered a crab melt and said there were no chunks of crab as described on the menu and again, not great. I ordered a patty melt WITHOUT mushrooms and got a pile of, well, mushrooms. (The kid even had even repeated the order to me.) When we pointed it out he said sorry and walked away. The patty on the melt was very small and the bread was hard as a rock, as if they grilled it without butter or anything else and left it on way too long. And while the blue cheese for my salad looked like mayo, it tasted like blue cheese, sort of, so that's a positive. The kid never came back to offer a soda refill. Finally, the most egregious thing ... on the seventh page of the eight-page menu was a card taped to it that said prices on some items were raised $1-$2 due to price increases. You had no idea what you were paying; my meal was a couple dollars higher than the menu, and my wife's was $3. read more

Well this review should be no stars for the trouble. This place is in a rural area that is maybe 10 miles from another restaurant,and I think they know this. The food used to be pretty decent ,portions were big, and prices were reasonable. So one lazy Monday night,the wife and I decide to feed our family of five at Roma's. Pick up our to-go order,but when I get home, my steak and cheese sub is not there. So I climb back in the car and make the 8 mile trip back to the restaurant while my wife calls it back in. The owners wife says the guy who took the order forgot to add my sub to the ticket. So she rings me up puts my sub on the counter and neglects to add the fries my wife orders, and charges me full price for the whole shooting match! While waiting a few minutes for the fries they forgot to cook, I have my back to the counter, I turn to see her trying to swap out another sub for the one on the counter!! She was trying the "sneaky swap" hoping I was so absorbed by the copper pan infomercial, I would not see she got it wrong again!!!! I guess they know they are far from other places because they just smile and say "sorry"!, after making a 15 mile round trip twice, you'd think I could get 10% off or a cannoli?? Something???? Came here for dinner and ordered the Italian pizza with a garden salad. Though there wasn't anything special about the salad, it was large and fresh and the croutons were delightful. The pizza came relatively fast given the decent amount of reviews claiming they are slow. It had thicker fluffier crust which was good though I do wish there were more toppings(meat) on it. If you're all about the sauce, I did find their sauce to be less flavorful and taste more generic but it wasn't horrible. I have had better pizza from other places(not around here) but there was no reason to down a star for this place about. The staff were also very friendly and the phone seemed to be ringing off the hook with orders. read more

So this joint has been around for a while, I can't explain why, they should be out of business by now. I called a simple order in; a Blanco (sauceless) small pizza with ham, bacon and sausage. I get it and leave (I know better, I should have checked) I get home, they have charged me full price but only half of the pizza has any toppings! I call and talk to the twelve year old that was running the counter, she has no clue what to do, says "talk to my manager", the inarticulate foreign goob would not even speak to me. He asks stilted questions through this child, who can barely form a sentence on her own, she stammers out that that's what I ordered (wanna bet that I actually know what I ordered?), and then claims that a small (now it's called a medium) costs $12 (it's still a small by any standard, and in my "old" menu, it was only $7) Okay, I give up, she is on the phone, witless and frozen, and I realize I am just screwed. The pizza was stale, dry and tasteless (I know, surprise, right?) So, here I am to tell my tale. I would urge you to avoid the heartburn (on several levels) and skip "Roma". Drive a few miles north and try Ocean Deli, a decent place, with friendly staff, that makes good food right the first time! read more
