Subway is trying to change. They have lost considerable popularity, and I don't think the slicer machine makes a difference. Also there are new meal deals, but I'm stunned by the price increase. Subway was often known for $5 meal deals, and that's simply not the case anymore. No $10 meal deals either. I understand all companies are dealing with inflation, but they aren't the good value they used to be. It's the reality, and why they aren't doing so well. With that being said I've been here a few times. Dropped in today and got my tuna sub, with chips and a drink. To the credit of this location, extremely clean which is a wonderful thing. Just like other visits very kind and polite employees. Yet getting in and out of here, and the so so ingredients at this price make it less viable than ever. Is it worth an occasional stop by? Sure. Yet I won't go out of my way, as their competitors are also more tasty. read more

This is probably the cleanest Subway that I have ever visited. I agree with the other reviewers. There is always a place to sit. The ambient temperature is comfortable, and the lighting is bright enough to see what you want to order and what you are eating, no matter how bad your eyesight. Your order is filled quickly. Sometimes, there is insufficient parking at certain times, but it is worth this minor inconvenience to visit such a well-run establishment. read more

Everything was going fine until I asked for tomatoes. Edwin from Subway reached in the tomato container and he and I saw the cockroach at the same time. He tried to hide it with his hand so I wouldn't see it. So I said something and he literally didn't speak a word back. He grabbed a stack of tomatoes and threw them away and THEN STARTED TO PUT TOMATOES FROM THE COCKROACH CONTAINER ON MY FREAKING SANDWICH. I said the coach roach is still in there and me and my boyfriend pointed it out to him. He saw it again and once again SAID NOTHING TO US. He then grabbed tomatoes out of a different container and acted like he was going to leave the other container. The entire time he didn't apologize, agree that it was gross, or offer to discount anything. DISGUSTING. And we were very polite about it. read more

Subway is a go to staple of mine. Today due to many factors I needed to buy lunch and was on 123. I saw this subway and pulled in. First off they greeted me as I entered. Nice touch. The store was adequately staffed and turning sandwiches fast. Everyone was friendly and professional. I ordered the subway club which is thankfully back on the menu. When I started eating my sandwich the first thing I noticed was the roll. This was much better then any subway I have been to. The roll had a nice crust and was soft and fluffy on the inside like it should be. All the ingredients tasted fresh and I have never been happier with a sandwich from subway in all the years I have been going (20+) Great crew at this location. read more

Have you ever had one of those days when you are simply dying of hunger because you haven't eaten all day? Today was the day for me as I decided to put in some overtime hours at work. I skipped breakfast and worked right in thru lunch. Besides a couple of bananas on my way in, and some mineral water, I was going on fumes at this point. I came in and zi knew exactly what would hit the spot. The e meatball marinara with Priceline cheese was the ticket. I decided to get the foot long for about $6.50 and it carried with it 760 calories. There were two employees Workin behind the counter when I walked in. They went straight to work by taking my order and preparing the foot long sub. I requested some lettuce, tomatoes, and some of those red bell peppers that always set it off for me. Plus they lightly toasted the sandwich for me and I appreciated it. Once I pad and walked out, I jumped right in my car and took more than a couple small bites. It was excellent as always! read more

The owner did not honor the promotion he was running with James Madison High School. My son ordered a ham and salami sub and I ordered a BMT and a drink. The sub of equal or lesser value was supposed to be free but after paying and sitting down I realized he charged me $1.50 for salami. I approached him about the mistake and he told me my son got a ham sub for free but had to pay for the salami. I then explained that the salami was a part of the sub and that the cost of my son's sub was less expensive than my sub. He got extremely agitated and argued with me in front of my son. He would not admit he had over charged me and claimed that the salami was extra. I asked him if the sub would have been free if I had ordered a BMT without pepperoni (which is a ham and salami sub) and he didn't have a response. He finally admitted it would have been free if I had ordered it that way. He was clearly trying to over charge me.... Don't run a promotion if you don't want to honor it. Everyone from the owner to the employees is friendly and the service is always fast and efficient even during a lunch rush in this busy area. I frequent several SUBWAY and this is my favorite. This Subway is the cleanest Subway I have ever been to! The service is always quick and accurate and they go above and beyond with customer service. My work is in Fairfax and I always order here for lunch when my company has special events. The owner, Min, always takes the orders for me and always confirms back with me a couple days before the actual day of pick up. When I come to pick up the orders (couple trays of sandwiches and cookies), he always comes out and shows me each tray to make sure my orders are correct. Sandwiches and cookies are always perfect! He also gives us a bunch of side dishes so if we need extra jalapenos or lettuce, we can. He understands that it is for a company and provides us with extra mayo, mustard, and all the other sauces that Subway provides. I was extremely surprised when he carried the bags for me to my car. Not only did he put them in the back seat of my car, but he wrapped the seat belt around them so it does not move when I drive! Who would have ever thought of that?! Genius!!!!! So by the time I get back to work, everything is still in place!! Awesome work! Min truly understands the meaning of customer service and we really appreciate that! I've been stopping by for over 5 years now. Having visited dozens of Subways throughout Northern VA, I've come to expect a similar mildly above par service. Always polite, always speedy; however, never great. After all, this is sub making 101 right?.......Not so at the Vienna Subway, the service has always been GREAT and the owner, a somewhat young man who introduced himself as Min, was working right there besides his employees and his charisma fills the entire store. The food is fresh, nothing additional if you're expecting more than subway ingredients, but again.....always FRESH. As far as Subways goes.....best around. Jack P. read more

I went to this subway and the hours said Sunday 9am-10pm. It is almost 9:30am and the door was still locked. A worker inside saw me standing outside the door and instead of opening the door, he just turned back around and kept cleaning. This is the only time in my life that I had to walk out of an establishment. I went in at lunchtime to order a sub and there was only one other woman putting in her order. I am next and start to give my order which was for a six inch sub, Italian bread, double meat roast beef, provolone cheese...etc etc. It started out fine as the girl got the bread and cut it to six inches. Then it was time to add the roast beef. She apparently didn't know what to do so asked her coworker how much to put on the sub. After whispering back and forth they decided that a double meat roast beef would comprise of four of there shrinking slices of roast beef. This barely would cover the sub, much less being a double meat order. I decided to see where they were going with this and she asked what cheese I wanted on the sub. I told her provolone, and then clarified again, and I don't know what she tried to pass off as provolone but it wasn't close to provolone. At that point I decided it was pointless to continue this charade and indicated that to forget about it and would go to another Subway. Sad...just sad. on the bright side, the Lee Highway Subway managed to get my order correct with no issues. I am sure this obviously doesn't happen to everyone but I don't think I was singled out so who knows how many others they do this to. Alas, my record of never having to walk out of an establishment has been broken. read more

I never tried Subway food before, I guess because I have some preconceptions about food quality. A friend and I were at the Dahn Yoga nearby and were looking for a light meal. This is my favorite Subway! I come here once a week with my father, and the staff is always so friendly. The manager (I can't remember his name) knows my order by heart, and so do a couple of the other workers. As for the food quality, it's the same as at other Subways. I go to a number of subways in the area but this one is by far the best. The owner is there almost always during lunch and he is very friendly. Their staff is by far the nicest of any subway in the area. Most importantly, they actually LISTEN to you when you say something like "very little mustard" or "lots of lettuce". That may seem like a minor thing, but it's been a big issue for me at other subways in the area. Fortunately that's not an issue here. read more
