We were looking for a light lunch so I decided to go with a freshly prepared sandwich - an avocado egg salad sandwich on toasted whole wheat. It was really green - which might not be the most appetizing color for an egg salad - but the balance of egg, avocado and herbs (including cilantro) was just right. The salad was creamy and well seasoned. The bread was under-toasted - I like to see some nice golden-brown on the surface and not just a toasted texture on a slice of bread. My dining companion took a readymade Italian sandwich which he enjoyed. While it skewed generic, it was obviously prepared the day it was sold. All in all we were satisfied with our lunch. Now that I know their system, I'm anxious to return to try the rest of their menu. While my initial rating is "average," that could easily go up. Especially because we don't have many classic deli options in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. I was at the window and asked the clerk if Filet of Fish meals have fries. Was told I only ordered the fish and soda. I said that $9 is a pretty expensive fish sandwich and soda. I ordered the value meal I said. Clerk disappeared and immediately said the other worker says she punched in your order correctly and I checked with her and the manager. Her attitude was fine. No one likes complaints but I was cheated. I will no longer go to this restaurant. The customer was not treated fairly in this case.

No other Culver's has ever filled an order incorrectly in the eight years I've lived in Wisconsin. Only the Rhinelander location! Is it improper training? Individual incompetence?
