I've been meaning to come here for a while and have heard rave reviews from friends and family. I…read morewas happy to hear that my wife secured reservations for us and another couple to try the restaurant out for the first time. Being the former Basil restaurant space, the interior is more intimate, darkly lit and a sure romantic spot for date night. The waitress was prompt and helpful selecting drinks off of their menu, inclusive of wine, beer and craft cocktails. Everyone at our table ordered a different drink or glass of wine and there were no complaints. For appetizers I ordered a bruschetta, which was served on a very crispy slice of seasoned bread. What was interesting was that the tomato topping (which was perfectly seasoned with basil, garlic and other spices) was served in a bowl on the side to allow everyone to top to their taste preference. It was a nice touch. We also sampled the cheese curds, which held up well to our Wisconsin standards, and a soup which I can't remember the name of but got high marks. Now for the main course. I was not expecting to be mind blown, by my god. The namesake dish, the Osso Bucco, was absolutely phenomenal. The veal was literally falling off of the bone and was easily, effortlessly separated with a fork. I have rarely had meat this tender. On the other side of the bowl was a fantastic risotto and a perfectly seasoned stew of carrots and onions. I did not indulge in the bone marrow, but I have heard it is a delicacy. Altogether this dish was worth every penny, and I will absolutely be having it again. To finish off this fantastic meal we opted for the tiramisu, which was elegantly plated in a creative manner I have never before seen. I enjoyed the wonderful ending to this delicious meal, and when you visit this restaurant I'm sure you will too.

I'll start with why I'm giving a 4 instead of a 5, then we'll end on the positive notes…read more.. I had the seafood stew, and it was quite underwhelming; it was more of an under-seasoned pasta dish. The bay scallops and shrimp were pretty tough and overcooked, BUT whatever whitefish was in the dish was outstanding. My hubby had a Caesar salad and the scallops entree. Both were wonderfully executed. The dressing on the salad was the perfect amount, lettuce crisp, and just plainly done well. And the scallops were perfect. Elaboration would take away from what was just 'muah.' :) Server was attentive, but not overly pushy. Ambiance was low key, quiet, and warm.

Portions are huge but unremarkable. I strongly suggest the busketty. Also if you have a baby go there immediately. You won't find a place nicer to your wee ones. My 10 month old had the time of his life dining on oyster crackers and noodles. And if they are happy does what I eat REALLY matter? 19/10 for family friendly 5/10 for food quality

He didn't read it back to us after he wrote it down, but I figured he would get it right. I was wrong. He had ordered 2 of them wrong and forgot one. I mentioned this to him and he insisted he wrote it down the way I told him. I explained I read it directly from my sheet and showed him the sheet, again. He finally agreed to have another pizza made, correctly, but after I had to 'act like a Karen', unfortunately. He was rude and seemed annoyed when I came in saying I wanted to place a to-go order. I don't think he would have fixed the issue if I hadn't made a big deal about it. The gentleman was very rude! We have been getting pizza there every year for 30+ years on our vacation. We will NOT be going back.

While not as chic as a fine dining establishment in a metropolitan area like Milwaukee, Madison, Chicago or New York, it's as classy as it gets north of highway eight. We made a reservation for a Saturday evening - they could have accommodated us as walk-ins (and walk-ins are welcome) but I'd err on calling for a reservation and securing a table, especially on a popular day of the week. With a reservation we were promptly seated and waited on. I started with a dry martini and my wife picked a wine from a pretty decent wine list. It was a great martini--see my photos. Many of the items on the menu are what one would expect, but there were a few that piqued my interest, in particular the schnitzel. As a frequent visitor to the Austrian Tirol and Bavaria, I had to give it a try. My wife opted for salmon. The entrees included soup or salad. I went with lobster bisque and my wife went with chicken noodle soup. The bisque was rich and flavorful. Though the bread stick was out of a box as opposed to baked in house, it was an acceptable accompaniment to the soup. As for the entree, the schnitzel was prepared the way I like it--pan fried and not deep fried. With a properly breaded, seasoned and crispy crust, the pork itself was perfectly cooked. I could eat a schnitzel like this every day! The Spätzle was fine and the sauce tasted good but it was a little thin. The red cabbage was definitely sour but lacked the sweetness necessary to balance the acid. I'd suggest that the chef check out the red cabbage recipe from Alinea which has an excellent balance of sweet and sour. And one more suggestion to mimic the schnitzel I've had in the Tirol and Bavaria, a dollop of sweet jelly to spread on the cutlet--preferably a white wine jelly fortified with herbs like rosemary. That said, the dish was great and I would order it again. I only took a bite of my wife's entree, but the hollandaise and salmon was good. She especially liked the kale. To end the evening we shared a dessert. My wife makes a DG tiramisu and we've had some great tiramisu's in Italy. This one was right up there, though the espresso soaked lady fingers were a bit weak. Nevertheless, as you can see from my photo, we demolished it. A nice grappa or Tirolian schnapps would have been the perfect finale but alas the bar was not that well stocked. All in all a decent dinner, a place I will return to in the future, and a great addition to the culinary scene in the region.

Everything was great. Food drinks service all good. Highly recommend. Pleasant environment.read more
