On our way to the lake we thought we would grab a sandwich. It had been a while since we had been to subway, and I imagine this was our last time. 18 dollars for a foot long Italian BMT on Italian white roll. The guy making our sandwich wasn't super friendly, whatever. I normally don't tip if I am standing, but I had a grandbaby with me and was feeling good, so I even tipped this fool. When we opened the sandwich while the ingredients were fine and generous, the bread was stale and falling apart. This guy had to have known that when he sliced it.. but he chose to make my sandwich using that bread anyway!!!!! We fed the ducks with it. Bro, your job is to make 18 dollar sandwiches.. the difficulty level is low, do better!! Subway is not worth your money. Why was there stale bread in the morning anyhow? I never write reviews but feel I need to on my last 2 visits. My first vist a couple weeks ago was horrible, the place was extremely hot even though they had the door open. The worker making my sandwich seemed annoyed that I was there to order a sandwich. I ordered a 6 inch salami and he put 3 slices of salami on it! 3 slices! WTH! Hardly any veggies also, including lettuce. My 2 visit was to give benefit of doubt since we live close by and thought maybe new employee ‍ Even worse the 2nd time. Seems like I was unlucky and stopped in the same day of the week as the last review did, Shelli. Extremely hot, hotter than the outside temperature was and it is only 75°. The brown skinned employee was extremely rude by looking at me and then turning around to ignore me when I said, "Hi, how are you?" I generally give this location a ton of business as I run a large company with several employees that I was hoping to feed today. Instead I was completely ignored and I'm not sure if the guy even speaks English to be fair. Way to assimilate into our culture here. My rating of 2 stars is comparative to every other Subway I have been to. This employee is 100% a "Help Needed" hire. Could be a friend or family member of the owners of the ARCO station that the restaurant shares a building with, but he needs to go. I hardly ever write reviews but this prompted me to write one today. Instead I took my business over to The Sierra Sourdough across the street and I recommend anyone stopping or living in Pollock Pines to do the same until that employee is removed. This past week, i ordered a footlong Subway Club togo, 14.99 on freshest white bread possible (specifically). 1. Bread harder than a rock in places (stale) 2. NO Roast Beef at all. 3. RAW bacon strips (I NEVER asked for bacon). 4. Asked for TONS lettuce, got token amount 5. Asked for Swiss chees (always have), got some slimy provolone OWNERS HAVE CHANGED! When I called, I could hardly understand any English other than being told "TOO BUSY TO TALK TO YOU" and being hung up on. * The entire sandwich went into the trash, because I don't eat raw bacon contaminating my entire INEDIBLE sandwich. Excellent location next to the I-50, this Subway is a must-stop on your way to SLT. Crew was very friendly, smiling and clearly interacting with customers. Sandwiches were perfect and tasty. Finally, the inside was clean well-maintained. read more

Stale food with small portions and a not so friendly staff. Used to be good when we moved up here, but it went downhill.

The. Best. Subway. I've. Ever. Been. To. My standards have gotten so high with this Subway. It's pretty outrageous. So, I get that subway is just sandwiches, chips and cookies, but this place really blew quality and taste out of the water. How can I ever eat Subway and not think of this place? First of all, the sandwich artist (yes, that is the correct name, at least it was when I worked at Subway when I was in my youth) did an amazing job of displaying and layering the ingredients. This seems like such a small detail, but it makes a huge difference when you are biting into your sandwich. We ordered these caramel chocolate cookies that I've never seen at a Subway before and they were just the greatest thing. I would legitimately drive all the way there for a day trip for some snow again and those cookies. The workers were all nice and friendly. I was very impressed with the cleanliness, as well. I definitely will stop here again, in the near future, on our next trip. read more

While on a bike ride from Placerville, I started to get hungry and could only think about this Subway I knew that was at our turn around point. Service was fast, incredibly nice (even though I was a little spaced out from hunger and kept asking for more veggies- everyone was really friendly and jovial), and the fireplace was a nice touch! I'd never think to review a subway of all places, but this one is bomb af. They don't skimp on anything, their staff is friendly and moves quick. Idk what is different but their sandwiches are just extra good compared to other subways. We make it a point to stop at this particular one when we head up to Tahoe. 5 stars! I would say that this particular location of the subway is pretty interesting in a very good way. It's located off the sly park exit. The dinning area looks like Starbucks. It had soft chairs a tv and a lot of other cozy stuff. The workers are very nice they did my sandwich the way I wanted. Bread was fresh I could taste it. There is also plenty of a parking spaces with a fabulous view to the mountains. read more

Okay, I have been meaning to write a review on this one particular Subway location and I kept procrastinating it; my apologies. In early May, my husband and I were driving home from Tahoe and we were both hungry. As you probably know, driving home from Tahoe, there are not a lot of places to stop and eat at since you are driving and navigating through some very tall mountains and little towns like Strawberry with a population of 15 people. My husband noticed a sign for Subway so we both agreed to grab some sandwiches there. When we entered the deli, there was a long line of people; I figured it was probably because this was the only stop between home or driving to Tahoe. I was wrong; it's because the food and customer service here is amazing!! This place was nice. It had (catch this) comfy sofas and a beautiful fireplace too, lots of tables and booths as well. I order a 6 inch veggie sandwich on wheat bread with an oatmeal raisin cookie (since I was craving something sweet) and my husband ordered the meatball sandwich and a chocolate chip cookie. Our sandwiches were legit; the bread was super soft and the veggies were super fresh and delicious. My husband loved his sandwich too and the cookies were super warm and moist (almost as if it almost it came right out of the oven). I honestly never been to a Subway where the sandwiches and cookies were this delicious. Best Subway location by a mile; recommend! read more

This was the best Subway ever. The sandwiches had so much meat and the freshest toppings. My husband can have 2 foot-longs and not get full and got full off of almost a 6 inch. They always make an awesome sandwich, but I was served by Bri, who was very friendly and helpful. Had the most awful dining experience of my life at this location tonight--if there were a way to give this place zero stars I would. My sandwich "artist" was shaking to begin with, with a hacking cough that she couldn't be bothered to cover her mouth for. Her eyes were wild, in the drug addled way you expect from a washed up rock star, but not the person who is making your food. That should have been my cue to leave, but I was hungry, so I put on a brave face. The boy I nanny for ordered first, and she got mustard on her glove. No big deal, she wiped it off with a napkin. Then came my sandwich, which she used the same mustardy gloves to make. After throwing my sub in the toaster, she proceeded to empty the garbage. THEN MADE MY SANDWICH WITH HER GARBAGE GLOVES. Not only did she violate health code, she also got my order wrong but did not apologize when I corrected her. "No, you wanted mustard". But Nate swears I said vinegar. WTH. I wish I had gotten her name so I could report her to management, but--oh yeah--no name tag. Compared to other Subway locations, this one is above average. From the moment we walked in we were greeted by a couple of very friendly girls who were very eager to help us get our order started. They worked well together getting our order completed and the sandwiches were very good. The staff was extremely friendly and always smiling. The location was very clean with a lot of seating. My son loved the television in the back and the comfy chairs. Hope to make it back to this place on our next trip up to Lake Tahoe. Management should be proud of these ladies! This place deserves negative stars! The employees are disrespectful and wouldn't let me use a coupon because "people use them too much". They argued with me and when I asked to speak with the manger they told me they would call them but avoided it. I have never had a worse experience in my life. As far as subways go, this has got to be one if there best. It is definitely the cleanest and freshest subway that I have been to. This place nestled in a beautiful little town on your way to or from Tahoe, they have this really nice outside dining area and the inside has a neat fireplace and television viewing area with couches and everything. I will never come here again. I'm tired of going to every subway and something being different. This subway doesn't allow you to get a footlong and get a half and half because the prices of the sandwiches are different, however I don't know why they can't just charge me for the more expensive sandwich. When they do the $5 footlong promo you can get a decent sando by tossing half the roll and doubling up the meat. I never thought I would be writing a review for a Subway. They are all the same, right? Well, I found this Subway to be better in many senses and thought that I should give them credit. Visited this place during Dec 2013 on our way back from S. Lake Tahoe. First of all I found their staff to be very courteous. They don't seem to cut corners and like to please their customers. We wanted to have something light, so went for 2 foot long subs for 4 of us. Since the person knew we were 4, she packed the 6" pieces individually, marked them very clearly (for the different ingredients - with/without mustard etc). The second thing I liked about this place was the layout. usually all Subways are "corridors". with the dining area at the back of the restaurant. But this place is refreshingly different. It has a large area to start with. Also, as somebody has noted there is a nice couch to sit and enjoy the flat screen TV. The place is also very clean, and yes, that includes the rest rooms. These folks deserve credit for standing out. read more
