Instead, everything was sitting out in the open, and condiments are only offered in lidless, open cups ready to spill all over the place. When I politely asked the girl at the counter to please put our order into a bag, she gave me immediate attitude and turned passive-aggressive. She snapped that "that's just how we do it when it's a lot of food," acting like I was an idiot and it was somehow my fault for not knowing their nonsensical packaging system. Completely impractical takeout model paired with dismissive, rude (passive aggressive) customer service. If you actually need food packaged for on-the-go convenience, look elsewhere. I also ordered a neopolitan shake and an animal fry with extra grilled onion. For those who don't know, "animal style" means extra sauce, grilled onions, pickles, and a mustard fried patty. The shake and fries were correct. The burger was not. First of all, my burger had a ton of lettuce on it. Secondly, it barely had any sauce or grilled onion. What little there was, was soaked up by the lettuce. There weren't any pickles on my burger, and the patty didn't taste mustard fried. There were two slices of tomato. I've worked in restaurants for most of my life, and it just surprises me that this burger could have gotten past the cook, expeditor, and window person with so much lettuce and a ticket that said "no lettuce." But it was still In N Out, and so of course it was still pretty good, and I still ate it. When I was little, In N Out used to advertise about how they specialized in custom burgers. The family dinners are the way to go, much better value over individual plates, so buy for a crowd or take home enough for leftovers. The tacos looked really good, although we just had the pollo asado. Kudos for the salsa bar; four tasty and tangy salsas - verde, house, avocado, smoky... all fresh. We'll be back to give it another try, stick with the dark meat next time.
