Then, this year happened. I wish I knew what happened, but Odell's is BACK! They have the same yummy food they were known for and the service is great! They are so friendly and prompt. We always joking called it "Slow-dells" because of how they would take 45 minutes to bring the food AFTER you called it in prior to driving there. Now, we pulled up and placed the order and it was out piping hot within 10 minutes. Absolutely amazing! I don't know what they changed, but they've cracked the code and I wish them all the success in the world! Our food: Mom got a cheeseburger basket, which was perfect! Husband and Dad got Big Moe baskets, again perfect. I got a hotdog (for old time's sake) and it was everything I remembered as a kid. So delicious and nostalgic. I also had a chicken tender basket and it was good. It wasn't the same chicken tenders and bbq sauce that it used to be, but like most places, that is hard to keep the exact same over the years, especially with varying food service providers and whatnot. If you previously had stopped going here, give them another chance. You'll be pleasantly surprised!

Dear Lord, I have no idea why people are dogging this place with all the low-star reviews. I've…read morebeen down here the past couple summers, and every time I've swung by Cookout, it's hit the spot. Look--this is fast food, so I'm not expecting a white tablecloth experience. But even with expectations set low, Cookout has consistently impressed me. The first time I ordered hot dogs, I'll admit I was a little thrown off. I'm from Michigan, so when we say hot dogs, we're usually talking Coney-style--mustard, chili, onions. At Cookout, I got these bright pink hot dogs with slaw. Totally different vibe. But I've gotta say... they were delicious. I've ordered them more than once now, from different Cookout locations, and they've been solid every time. Bottom line: If you're expecting a gourmet meal, you're in the wrong place. But if you want good food fast, and you're open to something a little different, Cookout delivers. I'm a fan, and I'll keep coming back.

I have been a Bojangles fan for decades. The Bojangles chicken and biscuit recipes really tickle my…read moretaste buds. That said, the operation of the Bojangles on Andy Griffith Parkway in Mt. Airy has broken me of my craving for Bojangles chicken. I keep trying to give them chances, but every time they find a way to screw it up. They have some of the most unmotivated and sloppy employees I have ever met. Over the last eight years, every time I visit I have come away, disappointed, or angry. The employee attitudes are awful and they just don't care. Yesterday we went to the drive-through and ordered an eight piece box which they told us would take 15 or 20 minutes. We paid at the window and were told to wait on the opposite side of the restaurant and they would bring our food out. After 27 minutes, nobody had come out, And we think it was because it was raining. We went straight from the drive-through to the parking space. They directed us to and waited there, until we couldn't wait anymore. Went inside to check where our missing order was, and saw it sitting on the counter. Unattended. When we asked why they didn't bring it out to us, they claimed we were not there to accept the order which was a pure lie. The truth is, it was raining outside And none of the under motivated lazy rude employees wanted to step outside across the drive-through lane to deliver our food to our car so they just left us to wait for 10 or more minutes after our food was paid for, boxed and ready to go. There is not enough space in a yelp review to summarize eight years of lousy order fulfillment and apathetic service employees that seem to thrive at this Bojangles location. Somehow, the miserable crew that operates this restaurant manages to find a way to screw up any order or come across as unpleasant and bothered by your interaction by ordering. I am still a Bojangles fan, but I will never again order from this location as they have set a high bar for consistent apathetic, lousy, unaccountable Customer Service. Nobody stays at a fast food job for eight years, but management has found a way to keep a consistently apathetic and ill mannered staff For nearly a decade with underwhelming results. Save yourself some time. If you have a craving for a delicious Bojangles biscuit, or some tasty Bojangles chicken, go to Greensboro. Or Winston Salem.Or Raleigh. Or Clayton. Or Charlotte. Just avoid the location in Mt. Airy that is a repeating cycle of failure, disappointment, and disrespect.
