I've noticed such a big improvement at this McDonald's! The service used to be a little inconsistent, but it's really changed for the better. The staff was friendly, quick, and made sure everything was right with my order. The restaurant was super clean and well-kept, which made the whole experience even nicer. I will say that if you expect fine dining don't go to a fast food restaurant. These are definitely younger employees, but with that being said I cannot complain with this visit! read more

Today I visited your McDonald's branch located at 307 N Andy Griffith Pkwy, Mount Airy, NC 27030, United States and unfortunately I received unfriendly customer service. At the time of giving me my food and my drinks, the staff attended me in a rude and unfriendly way I asked him to please put more cream on my frape and my English was not good, the one who attended me was the one who did not understand what he was saying. I consider it important to express my experience because I have always expected respectful and professional treatment in their premises. Out of the 3 in town this one is the most incompetent. Staff: More than half the time you will be handed your food with no response, no "you're welcome" and Lord help you if you have a question or need ketchup or whatnot. There are a few, like 3-4 in total that are wonderful people in regards to friendliness and being accommodating. Service/Food: THEY WILL leave something out that you have paid for. Pancakes no syrup, happy meal no apples, happy meal no drink. I was literally handed a happy meal box one time with just a lone box of nuggets sliding around inside. No drink, no apples, no fries and no toy. On this particular occasion when I politely pointed this out, the lady who was in charge of the happy meal assembly threw everything inside and shoved the box outside the window with no words uttered. I'll never knock someone working fast food. It's tough work, anything dealing with the public. I've done it myself but it's one thing to be a petty complainer like you see on social media versus handing an establishment money for goods that are not exchanged. That being said, whether or not there's a narrative that all customers are bad or not nowadays, at the end of the day it is the employees job to be pleasant and provide a service and product paid for. It's not just to shove food out a window. It is the job to conduct themselves with politeness while being accommodating and not vilifying the customer just because they had to ask for the food that was paid for. Another thing I've noticed is the push to not hand receipts back anymore. I get it. From a business standpoint if you can save for example $5 a roll on receipt paper per month, per store, by simply assuming the customer will be fine with being handed their card back with no receipt, that's a lot of profit annually that requires no additional labor or training but if it's a common occurrence that $3 to $6 worth of food is left out 3 out of 5 transactions in just my experience alone, multiply that by the number of customers who frequent this one restaurant per day, per month and year while having no proof of purchase. Its actually baffling at the amount of pure profit being made. It's essentially stealing and I do not say that as being "extra". Logically argue that with me, please. Call me old school but I don't believe it wise to cop an attitude with the hand that feeds regardless if you are in the right or not so I am leaving another review so that maybe I can help a future customer out by preventing them from literally paying money for a lack of requested goods and bad service. So far the McDonalds on Renfro has the been the best. I go there daily now and everyone is polite and kind and the food is hot and accounted for. I cannot tell you the last time I received hot, crunchy fries at Highway 52 location. Limp noodle fries are their specialty. It's a shame that you have to shop around to find this when it should be the minimum you receive regardless of which one you go to. I've voiced my concern for the 307 N Andy Griffith Parkway location for years so it's obvious that this isn't just a frontline-employee level issue. Just went through drive-through and a young dark-haired man maybe teens early 20s, couldn't even look me in the eye or speak a word to me, had his back turned to me the whole time. The customer service was terrible, I waited at the counter for over 15 minutes cause I just wanted ketchup and the guys there just kept looking at me but wouldn't come over to the counter ! There was also lots of swearing going on in the back, my child could hear this language too which is appalling ! It was insane ! Never coming back here again. Trash. When we were paying we had a few questions but the employee was talking to another employee we assumed management since they were not working but talking to this employee while he was waiting on us. My wife had to raise her voice and interrupt there conversation to ask about getting a strawberry pie. We were told we could on get apple with our discount card. And he went back to talking and when he gave us our receipt and our card back he was turning his back on us to talk to her. I yelled thank you but they were busy talking and didn't acknowledge us. We were happy with our food until our grandson told us they didn't give him a toy in his happy meal. Will try another location since my grandson likes to go but even he was upset with them for forgetting his toy. Maybe Wendy's next time. Makes me want to sell my McDonald's stock!! read more

No the stuff is lazy and rude. They don't do anything but lay on their phone and then they touch your food after that, without washing their hands and also my whole order was completely ice cold I got all the way home and my whole order was wrong and then when I called them about it, they wanted me to come all the way back out with my child that is 2 and bring the food back so they could replace it along with the receipt that you can't even read so I do not recommend this business at all one of the nastiest McDonald's I've ever been in and all they wanna do is play on their phone read more

We have visited this McDonald's several times because it's the closest to our home. Every time we go the staff is very rude and the food is mediocre! On our last visit, which will be our LAST visit to this location, we used the app to obtain a promo code for a free medium fry. When we were rudely ask, at the drive thru, to "go ahead with our order" my wife told the guy that we had a promo code. He asked for the number and she gave it to him. He said, "ok, what else". She then placed the rest of the order which was a happy meal, a fish sandwich, and a frappe. When we got to the window to pick up the order, the girl handed us everything but the free fry. When my wife asked about it she was told it wasn't on the order. We told her that the guy taking the order took the promo code when we order. Her response to my wife was, "I don't know what to tell you". So I told the girl that we wanted the get that we ordered! She the screamed at me to stop yelling at her! She then went and got the fry. The kicker is, there was a manager standing right there and smirked when the girl yelled at me! I hope life hell that this place eventually shuts down! This McDonald's had been in our town since I was a little boy and I'm almost 50 now. It has gone to complete shit over the past 10 years! And nothing can be done because the GM there is just as bad as the rest of the staff there AND the franchise owner will not respond to any complaints! When the workers get your order wrong they would rather argue with you then correct their mistakes.

There are many McDonald's in our area that are professional and efficient with dependable standard fare. Not this one in Mt Airy near Hobby Lobby. I went to McDonald's yesterday (Jan.21, '23) to get my dog a couple of hamburgers for dinner. While I was feeding him, I noticed the buns were molded! I'm glad I didn't get a hamburger. On the norning of Sunday, April 28, 2019 I enter a McDonalds in Mt. Airy, NC. This has got to be the worst customer service that Ive ever experienced in a McDonald's franchise. There was 1 young lady running the front end, no company indentification, 1 young lady running the line, no company identification, 1 female shift manager and 1 young man working the drive thru. After checking out and asking for alot of sugar for my med. cup of coffee, I got 4 packets and a "have a nice day". The young lady wouldnt even acknowledge me any further at that point. My husband just asked me to go sit down, he would get more. He returns to our table. I go back to the front counter to ask for an additional item. No one would acknowledge me. No customers beyond myself were there. I stood there for 60 seconds before asking the young man at the drive thru for my item. The female manager and the other female turn around to see me standing there. The shift manager literally rolled her eyes in my direction. I had not had any interaction with her until this point. The disrespect and extreme lack of customer service was apauling. As a manager for a big box retailer this behavior saddens me to experience. I wouldnt recommend this location to anyone and most certainly will never return to this location. Customer service is their job. Being respectful is their job. Serving customers or serving those who do serve their customers is their job. No one working is this location clearly understood that or received this training. read more
