I love coming here. The business has changed ownership since my last review and has improved remarkably. The drinks are always delicious and it's one of my favorite spots to get out of the house or the office and bring my laptop and work for an hour or two. They have also added art from local artists and it adds to the atmosphere a lot. I'm excited to see the new additions as they continue to make changes!

Cute little local book store on Main in Mayberry. Decent amount of seating to relax and enjoy a cappuccino or iced coffee. They also make a variety of frozen frappuccinos and fruit smoothies as well. I stop in here every time we visit Mayberry and usually order a fun coffee concoction and pick up something new to read. Not a huge selection of books but my favorite section dedicated to local authors is very nice to browse through. I love their special greeting cards too; they are so adorable! My kids love the section in the back; happy to see a few books for young readers also. Service is friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back next time we take a day trip to Mt. Airy. Thank you!

I've been coming to Pages for 10 years now, and I stand by the fact that it's my favorite coffee shop in town! With delicious drinks and pastries, and always inviting atmosphere in a shop right on main street, and the ability to grab the local newspaper or check out a local author, this place is truly unique for the area and worth checking out. The café has a TV as well as four two-chair bistro tables and a couch for seating, and I've never come in and been unable to find a seat even during festivals and events like Autumn Leaves and Farmfest. It's also not just a great place to hang out with a friend either, but also great for bringing in a book or your laptop (they have easy access outlets at the back tables and WiFI). It's also worth noting that the place is always kept super clean, and the staff has always been super friendly and professional. When it comes to drinks they have something for everyone from black coffee, teas, smoothies, frappes, ciders, hot chocolate, and fantastic iced lattes and mochas. They also keep their menu interesting with seasonal specialties which can sometimes fall a little flat in my opinion compared to their tried and true drinks but usually are still interesting to try. They may be slow to advertise seasonal drinks, but always feel free to ask about them or ask for a recommendation. The last time I asked, the staff's top three drink recommendations are the Caramel Sensation, Zero Bar, and the Milky Way, and the Caramel Sensation has become a favorite of mine as well as the Hazelnut Toffee! The drinks are also the best value in town by at least fifty cents which really adds up if you're a regular, and they offer a rewards program as well. If you're like me and prefer using a reusable cup they also have no problem with iced or hot drinks as long as the cup is a reasonable size (mine is larger than their large at 20 oz, but they allow it). Pages is also well known for having a small selection of amazing pastries and desserts as well as instant oatmeal cups for the breakfast crowd. There is also a small pop box with sodas, water, and other bottled drinks as well as candy bars and small snacks if pastries aren't for you. Lastly, their book and magazine selection is worth checking out. They offer a good selection of newspapers (USA Today, Wall Street Journal, Mt. Airy News, and the Winston Salem Journal last time I checked). I have noticed that they aren't keeping every paper in with COVID-19, but hopefully, that'll change soon. They also keep a decent little selection of magazines in the back to peruse. The book selection has a whole section dedicated to local authors and locally relevant material, which is great if you're looking to learn more about the area. The rest of the books are more centered around new fiction, current events, classics, hobbies, and religion, but anything you can't find just asks the owner because she's great about ordering books for people and getting them in. Another great addition to their shop is that it has a whole children's section in the back which has lots of great books and games for kids to enjoy. Overall, I can't recommend this shop enough for both locals and anyone visiting Mt. Airy.

If you're stopping by Mayberry and craving some good coffee. You'll love this place, the customer service is excellent and their coffee is fresh. When I was confused as to what flavour to get, they were so sweet and really gave me a great recommendation! I took their advice and got the hazelnut toffee iced coffee. It was great, perfect combo and you could still taste the fresh coffee.

It is overpriced and not really much of a book store. It is more of a coffee shop with expensive lit on the shelves

Book Ferret is one of my absolute favorite bookstores, and I always make a point to stop in when…read moreI'm in the area! Though the shop is relatively small, it is not cramped inside and has a great selection. The majority of the store is a fiction section, arranged by author last name, which spans across most of the wall. They also have dedicated sections for several of my favorite topics, such as gender studies, nature, science, and local authors/interest. Each section is smaller than what you'd see in a big-box store, but it doesn't matter because they're perfectly curated -- I would read almost anything I've seen in this store. There is a cart of used books they've just gotten in, but most of the used books are actually shelved alongside the new books in their respective sections. I think this is an excellent use of space, and I like that I can just go look for what I want once, as opposed to searching for something in a used section and then having to search for the exact same thing in the new section if they didn't have it used. There is also a small selection of "last chance" used books at a greatly reduced price. Most, if not all, of the books I saw in this selection were only $2, and they were in great condition! The owner + staff are friendly, and I love their taste in books! If you are near Winston and like to read or know anyone who does, you HAVE to come here.

We bought several different books. Some we had not seen before. The staff member was very nice and helpful. We will definitely go back to get more books.
