You know you are desperate for change when you are pulling into an Arby's for a quick bite to eat…read more Don't get me wrong, there is nothing bad about Arby's, but it is not my go to place for when I think of dining out. But I have to say that I was tired of nearly everything else available in the area for the to go option. I should have known something was up when I pulled in and the drive thru line wasn't moving very fast, but I was like, who cares, it's fast food. I finally get to the menu board and wait to give my order. Silence. I do a little worried look about to make sure this place was opened. A line had started to form behind me and I'm all like a dog with it's head hanging out the window waiting for a treat. When I finally did get someone to respond from within I had to repeat everything I ordered several times...if I'm being honest, it was for naught. *Sigh* My order was fairly simple, turkey gyro meal with crinkle cut fries, I also ordered some mozzarella sticks to eat as I drove the rest of the distance home. Get to the window finally to pay and the guy again repeats back to me my order, I hand him my card to pay and then wait again. I could understand if they were open for inside dining (at the time I visited they were not) them being busy. But it was like they were preparing everything for each order from scratch. Finally get my order in hand and start the trek home. Mozzarella sticks are as I expected from a fast food restaurant. Hard, hot exterior with a lukewarm, unmelted interior. Finally get home and dig into my crinkle cut fries, which I guess are a new item here, and they were not bad at all. Nice consistency, enough potato to satisfy me. The part that makes me mad at all of this is the following. I ordered, and reordered, confirmed and reconfirmed what I wanted from the menu. You would think with as thorough of a vetting process for fast food you would get the order right. I open up my gyro and had a tear in my eye. I wanted that turkey, that turkey that takes you back...but what do I get, a roast beef gyro. I am not the biggest fan of roast beef...I know, I'm weird like that, so sue me. Ruined the whole meal for me. Ugh, what an experience.
