The menu offers a wide variety of sandwiches, soup, and appetizers. Hop in line and place your order at the counter. Snag a seat, and prepare for a treat! We ordered a few different sandwiches and were pleased with all of them. The portions were generous, and served with a side of your choice. The stand out was the lobster bisque. Rich and creamy and delicious! I'd drive back just for a bowl of soup. Pro tip: we highly recommend the wine slush. The peach was a fan favorite. Wine, ice, and fruit blended together is a winner!!

All the employees were really nice along the way, no issues there. He also had signed pictures from different movies all over the walls, which was pretty cool to look at while waiting for your food. I felt like the prices for what we ordered were good too. I also did not love the ambiance of the restaurant. It felt tacky and like it was out of the 80's. Additionally, my wife and I had waited 10 minutes in store before realizing we could just DoorDash it and it would be done faster based on the app, and it was. Overall if I could give a lower review I would. It also seems like they do not know what they are trying to do. There is just a lot going on with the menu, and I am confident if they focused their menu, it would be much better.

I have no idea what it looked like before (still haven't seen the episode) but it looks nice, if a little dark. I do get the vibe and what they are going for. I do wonder if there are any actual ties to prohibition activity in the area? Our solid, effective server, Molly, was holding things down for the whole place, there were people at the bar, and another table came as we were leaving. I was a little fooled by the name "hot salami" because I thought it meant spicy salami, but it actually means the salami is heated up! You learn something new every day. The best advice I got that first time, and the advice I still follow today, is to order your sandwich on cheese bread. Trust me, it takes the sandwich to another level! This time, I ordered through the app, and my sandwich was ready and waiting for me when I arrived. The parking was easy to navigate, and pickup was quick and convenient. I ordered the six-inch sandwich, and it was hearty and filling. They pack it with so much meat that you definitely get your money's worth. These are made-to-order, hot sandwiches, so if you order in the store, expect to wait around 10-15 minutes. That's understandable when they're making your sandwich fresh! The food is delicious, and Gioia's has become one of those places I make a point to stop at whenever I'm in the area. I'm glad they have a location out in St. Charles County because it makes it that much easier to get my sandwich fix. If you haven't tried Gioia's yet, my recommendation is simple: get the hot salami on cheese bread. You won't regret it!
