Bratwurst Bliss at Carle's - A Bucyrus, Ohio Meat Lover's Must-Stop…read more When you're in Bucyrus, Ohio--the Bratwurst Capital of America--you'd be doing yourself a serious disservice if you didn't stop at Carle's Bratwurst. This small, no-frills butcher shop is big on flavor, hospitality, and quality, offering a wide range of fresh and frozen meats that'll have any carnivore grinning from ear to ear. A Local Institution of Meaty Goodness Carle's is more than just a place to grab a pack of brats--it's a family-owned tradition that's been serving up high-quality meats and hand-crafted bratwurst since 1929. You can taste the care and craftsmanship in every bite. On my visit, I picked up some truly mouthwatering selections: * Swiss & Rye Bratwurst - a classic twist that's as comforting as your favorite deli sandwich, but better. * Cheddar & Jalapeño Bratwurst - the perfect balance of creamy and spicy, with just enough kick to keep you reaching for another. * Cheddar & Garlic Burgers - juicy, flavorful, and bursting with bold taste, these patties are destined for the grill. All of their meats are fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared, with frozen options available so you can stock up for future feasts. Not Just a Butcher - A Full Deli Experience Carle's may be known for their brats, but don't overlook their fully stocked deli. Whether you're craving a thick, made-to-order sandwich or want to grab something hot and ready to eat, they've got you covered. Their ready-to-eat meals are perfect for lunch on the go, and the staff will treat you like family while you browse. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming--small-town friendly with people who are passionate about what they do. Ask them for a recommendation and you might leave with a few new favorites (and maybe a snack or two for the car ride). So if you're traveling through Bucyrus or just looking for a reason to fire up the grill this weekend, Carle's Bratwurst is a must-visit. From bratwurst bursting with creative flavors to perfectly seasoned burgers and a full-service deli, it's the kind of place that turns a meat run into a memory. Take the Trip. Your next adventure--and your next brat--is waiting.

They stock things esp. pickles and german cooking items that are hard to find and rarely stocked. They also carry local products like Ballreich chips, Tofts Ice Cream and Dairy, frozen seafood. My weaknesses are their hot bar where you can get a hot lunch or dinner to eat there or carry out...love the reuben panini and bratwurst casserole ...they have a variety of sides potatoes and veggies along with soup besides a fruit cobbler...they also have a deli cold bar...i typically leave with a lb or 2 of german potato salad..(nice and tangy) love the green pea salad with peanuts, too plus the chicken salad with grapes and ham salad. There are more options ie potato salad, bean salad, pickles...i have been known to sample on the way home. They do post the menu and weekly specials on their website. I get the specials by email on Sunday so I can plan a visit. Great place to shop, get a hot meal or meet a friend...also great to pick up soup or a meal for a friend under the weather.

And the employees were nice. And the ambience, despite being moderately loud, it doesn't really matter for the food you're getting.

It did not specify toppings were an additional charge of what was a small pizza at $16.99. After placing the order, with three toppings (one of which was bacon), ate the pizza. It was really good. After receiving the bill, I was SHOCKED that the toppings were an additional charge to the already higher priced pizza for a SMALL. The bacon alone was $5.98! My bill was $30 for a SMALL PIZZA - it was good but not THAT GOOD for $30! We did question this, after asking for the manager, and why the menu description would not have clarified that the toppings were an ADDITIONAL charge and she said its because its just like the regular menu. The waiter never mentioned that the toppings were additional or that a bacon topping cost the amount of a pound of bacon! She offered a $10 coupon that would be emailed to me since they already ran my credit card and could not void the transaction. I have not seen the $10 credit/coupon email as of yet... Bakers, while their food is good, need to do better on clarifying their menu.

A Slice of Simple Life at Pickwick Place - Bucyrus, Ohio…read more If you're road-tripping from Columbus to Lake Erie and craving a pause from the gas stations and fast food chains, make a detour to Pickwick Place in Bucyrus, Ohio. It's more than just a pit stop--it's a charming taste of Ohio's heartland, served up with a side of fresh jam and a blackberry lemonade slush. A Market Made for Food Lovers Pickwick's farmer's market is a celebration of all things local and delicious. Picture this: crates overflowing with vibrant, seasonal produce--ripe tomatoes, crisp cucumbers, juicy peaches, and sweet corn picked that very morning. Alongside the produce, you'll find a bounty of locally made goods--jams and jellies in every flavor imaginable, homemade pickles, fresh-baked breads, and dressings that taste like something your grandma whipped up in her kitchen. And let's talk about the fry pies. If you know, you know. If you don't--these handheld pockets of flaky pastry filled with gooey fruit fillings are reason enough to turn off the highway. They're my personal favorite indulgence here. Good luck stopping at just one. The market also stocks frozen meats from a local butcher, so if you've got a cooler in the trunk, you can take a little taste of Pickwick home to your own grill. Handcrafted Charm in Every Corner Step into the second building and you're met with a world of homemade crafts and rustic decor. It's like walking into a Pinterest board come to life--wooden signs, hand-stitched items, seasonal decorations, and more. Whether you're looking for a cute centerpiece or just browsing for inspiration, you'll find something to warm your home and heart. A Garden of Sunshine Out by the greenhouse, nature puts on her Sunday best. When we visited, sunflowers, zinnias, and wildflowers painted the landscape in bold, beautiful color. And here's the best part--you can grab a jar and some cutters, stroll through the garden, and build your own bouquet of fresh-cut flowers. It's a peaceful, slow moment in the middle of your day--and it smells amazing, too. Sit. Sip. Savor. If you're feeling a little hungry (again), Pickwick's small café has you covered with sandwiches and comfort foods that are perfect for a quick but satisfying lunch. Pair your meal with one of their frozen slush drinks, like the tart and tangy apple cider or the refreshing blackberry lemonade--trust me, it hits the spot on a summer day. Whether you're stocking up on fresh goods, hunting for homemade treasures, or just craving a peaceful stroll through blooming flowers, Pickwick Place is a reminder to slow down and enjoy the simple things. So next time you're heading north to the lake, carve out a little time to pull off the road and experience this gem tucked away in Bucyrus. Take the Trip. Your next adventure is waiting--maybe with a fry pie in hand.

The cooks the servers the host and hostesses all make it run smooth. What lacks is management...I'm not bitter, I was interviewed and told full time, I was told 10 am to 7. Guess what I got not even close..Denise the General Manager lied, I had the skills for all and the know it and acknowledged it, however I got a schedule as if I was living with my parents lol I'm 59. I had a rough week, health and family which could all be documented, I wasn't given a chance just said by Denise we are done lol lol....I was going to quit regardless because of her lying at my interview, just wanted to give a minute to see.. then life happens..I showed up always ready to work and was even told by Denise how I jump in and just know what I'm doing. Actually their loss...meaning you Denise...you say one thing and do another..that's a liar. Please go for the food because the employees are great..few exceptions however I'll leave the high school people out. Yall I love working with ya as short as it was..Brandy your amazing...Rachel you put up with treatment you shouldnt..your an amazing woman don't forget that! Brittany and Alexis sorry if I miss spelled you two rock behind the line..Ashley your awsome..probably not be so cocky but your awsome. Get it together yall. Kristine the assistant manager would even listen to me when I called because of kidney stones, she literally said I don't have time, however unfortunately how life sometimes goes which I had full documentation for all..a real emergency, called 4 times to talk to a manager..20 minutes on hold. I was dismissed for no call no show lol...I was quitting 2 days later anyways because of the lies in my interview with Denise..not much to say about Drake, but ask Haleigh...she told me when I unfortunately had to train with her lol. So many great employees, and so many not...it's all from Denise who I had respect for so much until she presented me a position with hours and shifts and lied. Spoke to her about it 3 times. I'll eat there always because it's clean and food is good for sure. Please don't work there unless your 16 which I was told...you'll never make money unless you live home with mom and dad...at 59 I clearly dont...I totally was lied to by Denise and treated poorly
