Look.. it's a chain. It's Frische's. We all know what to expect. For me, it's always going to be a Big Boy w/onion rings. I love the monthly specials. This place is perfect for a Tuesday night when you don't feel like cooking. My parents even insist that we eat there when they come to visit because they don't have a Big Boy near where they live. I've never had a bad meal at the Tiffin Location. The service is almost always EXCELLENT. The staff are generally friendly & attentive. From the people that have been there for years to the high school kids working there after school, I always know I'll get great service. Obviously, I can't speak to the kitchen, but the only real criticism of the Tiffin location is that the dining room needs a really good top to bottom clean (maybe during off-hours) or close for a day or something. The actual surfaces are clean enough, but it's kind of gross sitting under those weird track light fixtures that are caked with dust. Same for the window sills if you're in a booth toward the front. But there's opportunity to easily correct that; and I hope they do. But it's been like that for the 3 years I've live in Tiffin, so I'm not going to hold my breath. read more

I do NOT Recommend! Only one waitress was working and she came back only like every 20 mins and didn't ask if i wanted a drink! And then when i finally complained and she did give me a drink there was something clumpy like dirt looking floating in it! Very disgusting! read more

Food was good. The waitress we had called herself Mo. we had our food and drinks in a good time but after we asked for boxes we still waited another 40 minutes for our bill and I asked her for it three times. I finally went to the front and asked for it. The first girl just walked away from us. The second lady gave me a check that was for another table and had nothing on it that we ordered. I had to tell her what we ordered so she could ring us up. The original bill they gave us to pay would have been 10 dollars more than what we spent. We will not be back. read more

I have been going to Big Boy restaurants for years mostly in Ohio as there are not very many in Indiana. This location is slightly above average as far as consistency of food quality and service. They do experience a lower than average turnover of servers and some of them have been there for years. I have always been waited on quickly and received drinks right away. The food usually comes out fairly quickly and if you don't want it right away because you're getting some soup and salad on the salad bar you need to tell them to hold up putting your order in. They have always gotten my order right and I've never had to send anything back as it has been cooked the way I requested. They do serve breakfast all day and have a nice breakfast brunch buffet on Saturdays and Sundays. We frequently travel between Indiana and Ohio. This is one of our favorite spots to get a quick lunch and occasionally enjoy the weekend breakfast buffet. The restaurant is located on the main traffic area and is easily accessible. This weekend we stopped by for lunch with a couple of our grandkids and had excellent service. Our meals came out quickly and everyone was pleased with their choices. Our grandson had the Super Big Boy (which he quickly devoured) and fries. Our granddaughter decided on breakfast, which you can order any time of the day. She got 2 pancakes, bacon and an egg. David and I got the Regular Big Boy. He ordered onion rings for a side and I got the fries and Cole slaw. Service was great, food was tasty and came out quickly and just as we had ordered. Will definitely be back again. read more

Frisch's is a community staple, and for good reason. The food is consistently good, and the service is great. Most of the waitresses have worked there for decades, so they know the business well. The burgers are tasty, and the deep fried food is as good as any in the area. Even though Frisches is a chain, you get a local feel when entering. Let's be honest, Frisch's isn't winning any Michelin stars, but it's good for fast service and dependable diner staples. read more

I live in Iowa and was visiting my grandmother in Tiffin. My meal was good. I had the buffalo chicken wrap with fries. I would definitely get it again but request lightly salted Frieda, they were WAY too salty. During our meal the lady sat next to us complained about the coffee tasting burnt. I didn't try the coffee but I just over heard the woman. My mom and I decided to get a slice of pie to go, my grandma didn't want one because "they're frozen". We both got a slice of coconut cream, our favorite. It was the worst pie I've ever tasted. The crust had that freezer burn taste to it and the cream part of the pie was so thick and horrible. I had to throw it away. I would definitely return for food but the frozen pies need to go. read more

Truly, there is no restaurant quite as perfect as Big Boy for that all American old school fast food dining taste. The classic Big Boy signature sandwich inspired the whole double hamburger industry, and still leads them all in taste. Big Boy restaurants once lead the way with curbside service in the fifties. Big Boy has been a family favorite all my life. The service is always great and the food is always yummy.

One of those places you just go for a consistent meal at reasonable price. Tonight wasn't consistent or good, but everyone has off nights.

Tiffin has terrible food. Big Boy is a good exception. Cheap & tasty for what it is. Servers are always nice.

The food is the blandest I have ever had. Every time I eat there it is a disappointment. No flavor, no consistency, usually bad service. Don't bother. read more
