Great old fashioned Root Beer joint. Friendly servers, great Homemade Root Beer. Love the old fashioned decor and colors.

Home sweet home. Or at least it was for my moms family. Many a Day and Weekend trip was spent cruising the smooth country roads from Cleveland to Tiffin. We'd climb in the car and rock out to Majic 105.7 and cruise into Jolly's upon arrival. Hotdogs and root beer were our jam. The root beer is sweet and tastes like that delicious vanilla sassafras combo we all know and love. Carbonation is low and the flavor is big time. $1.75 for a Jolly's root beer float. Give me 2! Menu is simple and priced to sell. This place does not complicate it. I rocked the hot shredded chicken sandwich while my Aunt B had a chili dog. Whatever they are doing to that chili really makes it unique and stand out. Gotta try it. All of it. Right now. Wouldn't be shocked if the college kids started making their menu a timed challenge to conquer in one sitting. Do it!!!

Jolly's...this well known drive up root beer stand in Tiffin, Ohio has been around for many years. After hearing that it will soon be closing the drive up business as of August 20th, I figured I better get one last chili dog and root beer for old times sake. They have not only been making memories, but make some of the finest root beer you will ever taste. They make their root beer on premise and it is still served in the glass mugs. Their hot dogs are nothing special, but I do enjoy the coney sauce, mustard and onion toppings that somehow make up for the "OK" hot dog. My meal would not be complete without a bag of Ballreichs Chips. These are made locally and they just go together with the chili dog and cold root beer! What a trio!! It's sad to see businesses like this close, but for now I will hold on to the fond memories I've shared with my hubby on our visits there, along with the times we took our dogs, "Buddy" and "Alvin" who thoroughly enjoyed their dog treats they used to get when the car hop would bring them to the window of our car. Note, Jolly's root beer is served at a local restaurant on tap called "Wall Street Pub & Grill" and I hear they will have a downtown location opening in one of the old Tiffin Bake shops, still the same food and drink without the drive up service. Great food for a great price! Try the homeade root beer. You'll want to pay attention to the drink sizes a large is pretty small if your really thirsty. I reccomend a half gallon of the root beer. Worst case scenario you'll have some to take home and share!

    He loves Jolly's hot dogs!!!

Popped in here for a quick bite after the Cross Country Carnival. Excellent service, even better food. Plan to come back again next year.

Al and his wife are as passionate…read moreabout customer service as they are about serving a great product, and they care so much about their product that they carefully source only the best, Midwestern-produced ingredients. Sure, other hot dogs might be cheaper, but they only serve Koegel Vienna franks, produced in Flint, MI. Likewise, other potato chips might be more profitable to sell, but they only carry Ballreich's chips, made locally in Tiffin, OH. Now Al might not tell you where he gets some of his amazing ingredients, like the neon green relish that makes his Chi Dawg so authentically Chicago, but you can sure taste the quality difference! Our family has been running into the Weenie Dawgs cart for years, especially on weekends at Mary Jane Thurston State Park in Grand Rapids, or on Wednesdays at the Bowling Green farmer's market. As one might expect, we all have different favourites: mine is the Chi Dawg, my son loves the Juan Hot Mama Dawg with the spicy Koegel sausage, my wife prefers the Detroit Dawg, while one daughter goes with the vegetarian dawg and the other the Texas Dawg. So no matter your interest, Weenie Dawgs probably has a dog for you! PROS: very friendly staff, very good food, and reasonable prices CONS: being a food truck, they can be challenging to locate Overall I rate Weenie Dawgs as being Very Good, and look forward to finding them again!
