If you are an adventure traveler this is a must visit spot in Tiffin. The nostalgia of the building adds to the vintage homey feel of a road side iconic Americana. What can be more America than a hot dog? Not just any hot dog but a proprietary dog, one live I've never had before. I had a foot long with chili and onions and the dog was delicious, meaty and flavorful. The bun was a surprise, it was nothing short of perfection. And the chili was astounding! Just a hint of nutmeg or something along with just a hint of sweet and a hint of heat. I had a root beer and again it was another treat to this full blown American experience. Walk up to the counter and meet one of their friendly helpful workers who happily Shepards you through your order. I wish I was local because this would be my go to place of a hot dog or other roadside treats. Oh I did try the chips later in my hotel and I was slightly disappointed. I'm a huge fan of Jolly's Drive In and believe everyone should go here at least once in their life! They are an old school drive up restaurant, where you eat your food from the comfort of your car. Before I began eating here the girls wore roller skates now they just wear sneakers. They make a mean Hot chicken sandwich that has gotten a bit skimpy on the "meat" but is still very tasty and worth a try or two! They also serve Sloppy Jo's, Hot dogs and Foot Longs. They make an amazing Root beer that is second to none and I do mean none! It is the best you will ever drink!!! I highly recommend going just for the Root beer it is that good. Home sweet home. Or at least it was for my moms family. Many a Day and Weekend trip was spent cruising the smooth country roads from Cleveland to Tiffin. We'd climb in the car and rock out to Majic 105.7 and cruise into Jolly's upon arrival. Hotdogs and root beer were our jam. The root beer is sweet and tastes like that delicious vanilla sassafras combo we all know and love. Carbonation is low and the flavor is big time. $1.75 for a Jolly's root beer float. Give me 2! Menu is simple and priced to sell. This place does not complicate it. I rocked the hot shredded chicken sandwich while my Aunt B had a chili dog. Whatever they are doing to that chili really makes it unique and stand out. Gotta try it. All of it. Right now. Jolly's...this well known drive up root beer stand in Tiffin, Ohio has been around for many years. After hearing that it will soon be closing the drive up business as of August 20th, I figured I better get one last chili dog and root beer for old times sake. They have not only been making memories, but make some of the finest root beer you will ever taste. They make their root beer on premise and it is still served in the glass mugs. Their hot dogs are nothing special, but I do enjoy the coney sauce, mustard and onion toppings that somehow make up for the "OK" hot dog. My meal would not be complete without a bag of Ballreichs Chips. These are made locally and they just go together with the chili dog and cold root beer! What a trio!! It's sad to see businesses like this close, but for now I will hold on to the fond memories I've shared with my hubby on our visits there, along with the times we took our dogs, "Buddy" and "Alvin" who thoroughly enjoyed their dog treats they used to get when the car hop would bring them to the window of our car. Note, Jolly's root beer is served at a local restaurant on tap called "Wall Street Pub & Grill" and I hear they will have a downtown location opening in one of the old Tiffin Bake shops, still the same food and drink without the drive up service. RIP Jolly's!!! This location is responsible for many of my childhood memories; good ones, at that. Their food was never the best in town, but the feel of this car-hop style dining made the food only mildly important. They had standard fare for a drive up joint, meaning they had hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, roast beef, and local Ballreich potato chips. EVERYONE knows the real star of the menu was the house mixed A&W root beer. It was made on premesis, and had a Sweetser taste than your normal canned or bottled root beer. Watching the counter workers pour the beer from the draft always made your mouth water. There was nothing better than a hoy dog with mustard, a barbecue chip, and a large beer to wash it all down with. Many of my summer nights were spent at car shows here, chasing all the cute girls that worked as car hops. I'll miss this spot, but the memories are robust! read more

Came here with a local friend because we were waiting for MST to cook our chickens and boy oh boy was I thankful. Best root beer I've ever had. Exceptionally creamy even without the ice cream to make it a float. My favorite part of the experience was the TV behind the counter was only the size of a computer screen and it didn't intimidate me. You never want to be intimidated by a TV in a root beer stand.
