Update: business changed names it's the same place but must be different owners from the last time…read moreI visited years ago. I Had the opportunity to visit the bakery yesterday, bought two different kinds of brownies. The brownies were the length and width of a triple A battery with the price of $2.00 a piece. These were not worth the price. The peanut butter frosting on the brownie was good. I ate the brownies the next day and had to warm up the peanut butter one in the microwave to get it soft enough to eat. The chocolate brownie was much better and did not have to microwave it. When I picked out the chocolate brownie I asked what kind it was and the person that helped me didn't know. I decided to get it not knowing what kind it was. It was good. I felt like the brownies should have been bigger for the price. The cut out cookies were 1.50 a piece but I wasn't willing to pay that for one cut out cookie. I understand that prices have gone up everywhere. The cookies were decorated nicely. The prices were not marked within the viewing area of the goodies unless I missed it. I did ask how much the cookies were. They did have a nice selection of donuts and different assortment of cookies. The clerk put my brownies in two separate small waxed paper baggies. I have never had my baked goodies packed in waxed paper baggies before. Most of my frosting was left on the baggie instead of the brownie. Not sure of the purpose of a waxed paper baggie. If it's supposed to keep your item fresher or softer.

The frosting was horrible and we ended up not eating any of them. $135 for a cake and cupcakes. Yes... i paid for their time but the quality was horrible.

I walked in and ordered in the store and noticed that there were people walking in after me and leaving with drinks before me. I soon found out I was not being skipped over as I assumed, they were in fact behind on mobile orders. I could only see 2 employees in the store. 15 mins went by and I was greeted by a younger employee who stated she was very sorry about the wait, she had just arrived and I could tell she was overwhelmed but working diligently to get everything caught up. That is when a customer started yelling belligerent things at the employee. The employee kept a smile on her face, apologized, and explained to the customer that she just arrived and would be more than happy to take care of her order after she finished up the 2 drinks she was working on. The irate customer continued to carry on and it actually made a few other customers uncomfortable and they left to wait in their car. The barista made the customer's drink (it looked delicious) and sat the drink and straw on the counter within arms reach, apologized again, and told the lady she hoped her day got better. The customer took her drink and continue to carry on all the way out the door. I wanted to hug this employee. She stayed professional and focused the entire time. The things the lady was yelling would have made me cry. My coffee was amazing and done correctly. I asked to speak to the manager to praise the young lady but was told by the manager to call cooperate as she did not have time to deal with my concerns.

There was one in Maine every bit as good. To be fair some states were just drive-through, but we tried coffee shops in all but 2 of those listed. This was a really great place. Quiet, brightly lit, nicely decorated. A quaint mix of old and new. Excellent coffee. Excellent pastries. Roomy enough on a weekday morning.

They have a private parking lot and a drive thru... however I recommend you dont drive thru. Nothing wrong with driving thru... its just the inside is so perfect and welcoming. They have friendly attentive staff and most of all, the way they present their baked goods and the quality of said baked goods is worth the steps inside. Everything is hand created there. Speaking of the food: The breakfast biscuit made on the herbed biscuit is a MUST get. If you don't get one and someone in your party does.. you "will" have food envy. Not even joking. It is that good. We surprised our friends at a dog show down the road ag the richland county fair with breakfast sandwiches and baked goods from Nickel and Bean and they multiple times brought up how good the sammie was. If you havent stopped in... go! Now!!!

A Slice of Simple Life at Pickwick Place - Bucyrus, Ohio…read more If you're road-tripping from Columbus to Lake Erie and craving a pause from the gas stations and fast food chains, make a detour to Pickwick Place in Bucyrus, Ohio. It's more than just a pit stop--it's a charming taste of Ohio's heartland, served up with a side of fresh jam and a blackberry lemonade slush. A Market Made for Food Lovers Pickwick's farmer's market is a celebration of all things local and delicious. Picture this: crates overflowing with vibrant, seasonal produce--ripe tomatoes, crisp cucumbers, juicy peaches, and sweet corn picked that very morning. Alongside the produce, you'll find a bounty of locally made goods--jams and jellies in every flavor imaginable, homemade pickles, fresh-baked breads, and dressings that taste like something your grandma whipped up in her kitchen. And let's talk about the fry pies. If you know, you know. If you don't--these handheld pockets of flaky pastry filled with gooey fruit fillings are reason enough to turn off the highway. They're my personal favorite indulgence here. Good luck stopping at just one. The market also stocks frozen meats from a local butcher, so if you've got a cooler in the trunk, you can take a little taste of Pickwick home to your own grill. Handcrafted Charm in Every Corner Step into the second building and you're met with a world of homemade crafts and rustic decor. It's like walking into a Pinterest board come to life--wooden signs, hand-stitched items, seasonal decorations, and more. Whether you're looking for a cute centerpiece or just browsing for inspiration, you'll find something to warm your home and heart. A Garden of Sunshine Out by the greenhouse, nature puts on her Sunday best. When we visited, sunflowers, zinnias, and wildflowers painted the landscape in bold, beautiful color. And here's the best part--you can grab a jar and some cutters, stroll through the garden, and build your own bouquet of fresh-cut flowers. It's a peaceful, slow moment in the middle of your day--and it smells amazing, too. Sit. Sip. Savor. If you're feeling a little hungry (again), Pickwick's small café has you covered with sandwiches and comfort foods that are perfect for a quick but satisfying lunch. Pair your meal with one of their frozen slush drinks, like the tart and tangy apple cider or the refreshing blackberry lemonade--trust me, it hits the spot on a summer day. Whether you're stocking up on fresh goods, hunting for homemade treasures, or just craving a peaceful stroll through blooming flowers, Pickwick Place is a reminder to slow down and enjoy the simple things. So next time you're heading north to the lake, carve out a little time to pull off the road and experience this gem tucked away in Bucyrus. Take the Trip. Your next adventure is waiting--maybe with a fry pie in hand.
