I'm generally not a "sweets" guy, but I travel into Zanesville for work a few times a month and had to stop by to see what all the hype was about. Their variety of old fashioned doughnuts are simply amazing. Not overly sweet, also not overly plain, but a perfect balance of both. The glazed old fashion doughnuts are an amazing accompaniment with black coffee, a must try! Also highly recommend the boomerang looking things, these are always a hit with the office staff. Stop what you're doing and GO NOW! read more

Get here early! We arrived around 8:30 and they were already running out of select items. Small inside, typical 80's donut shop feel. Bar stools and a couple of older gents having their coffee and morning banter. We got a variety, they were boxed up and we went on our way. If a cake variety is for you, the cinnamon sugar can't be beat! Standard glazed were good and obviously fresh. Filled donuts were equally as flavorful. I particularly enjoyed the pudding filled Boston creams. read more

10:30 in the morning Donald's donuts practically sold out. I guess it's a good thing Dunkin' Donuts is coming to Zanesville. It's a Local favorite, but you need to have product. Stopped here multiple times before 10 AM this being a donut shop. Do you think they would have donuts to sell if you're lucky enough to get what you want they are a good product, but only on the day you buy they go stale quickly. read more

Food is delicious Service is good. Always a good variety. Nice clean establishment Would recommend this place for great donuts.

Donald's donuts is always busy and for good reason they have the best donuts in town and the staff is always friendly.

Donald's is a Zanesville staple. If you move away from Zanesville, it is one of the first places you want to visit when you return. It has been open every since I can remember. My mother was a very big donut fan and she frequented here very often. Their donuts are spectacular. The place is pretty small like most donut shops, so you might want to plan to take your items with you. The staff is always friendly and inviting. I highly recommend them if you want a next level donut. read more

The best donuts in the world!!! Nothing else comes close!!! The apple fritter is amazing

Yum, yum, YUM!!! Donald's Donuts is a staple in the lovely little town of Zanesville. If you live there, you gotta love it and have likely had too many of their donuts to count (guilty)! If you don't live there and you find yourself passing through, then do yourself a favor and stop in for a tasty treat. This place is open early and stays open longer than most donut spots so it's very likely you'll snag a delicious cinnabon, cake donut, or maybe even a powered one. If you're really luck maybe you'll snag one with your favorite color sprinkles on it. Either way, you definitely will not be sorry! This place has always had a classic feel to it and from the moment you walk in, you can easily see why. From the paintings on the wall to the old school cartons of milk, it's like you took a step back in time. There's a bar available for seating and you'll likely find a few folks reading the paper or chatting amongst themselves. I don't typically stay to eat. I generally grab a box of goodies and surprise someone with them. It's well worth the smile on their face. My absolute favorites include the old fashioned donut. You don't find these often these days and they are so freakin' good. You can identify them quickly by their classic shape and glaze frosting. The maple bars are also to die for, that maple icing just melts in your mouth! The donuts are always so moist and flavorful, it's hard to put them down. If you need another reason to visit this place well... here ya go! It is locally owned and operated by the sweetest family. Tom took over for his father and has done an amazing job keeping the spirit of the place alive. It's always packed on the weekends and it's not hard to find a Donald's Donuts box on a friend or family members counter top. The donuts will likely be all gone at that point... here's your sign! read more

One of my favorite things about visiting my sister and brother-in-law in Zanesville is this extraordinary little family-run donut shop. Its donuts are quite simply the best 80 cents you'll ever put in your mouth and the tastiest I have eaten anywhere. Our trip would not be complete without stopping by for our usual dozen cremefilled LongJohns, half-dozen Apple Fritters, half-dozen Buttermilks and a dozen mixed all of which are completely consumed by our family of 12 by mid-morning. Be on alert when looking for it the first time however, as the faded, green-topped, Wafflehouse-esque exterior is easy to miss. Just look for jam-packed parking lot beside the new Popeyes, and then pray you'll find an empty space. Once inside, you will typically find its bustling little dining area itself full of regulars and a continual line of to go orderers. One last very important note, you gotta get there early as they usually sell out fast, and when they're gone, they are indeed gone. It probably pretty obvious, but this place is definitely a Gotta Try in my book! read more

Their Apple Fritters used to be great. Real apple chunks. We had them this morning early when they opened up and got a few for the family and everyone was disappointed. Now it appears they are using apple pie filling instead of fresh apples and it is not good. read more

I'm not a big donut eater not because I don't like them, but simply because they have a ton of calories. Especially the cream filled which are my personal favorite. I've eaten cream filled from other places and more times than not, you're have way through the donut before you reach the filling. Donald's filling is end to end. Would put their's up against any. Also a big selection of other kinds read more

Stopped in for a breakfast donut fix on our drive across Ohio on I-70 during covid mask season and was not disappointed. A short drive (1-2 miles) north of the interstate. Counter help all wore masks. Picked up an apple fritter and an iced jelly donut. Both were exceptional and reminded me of the donuts I ate before some bakers started to make them healthy! Also bought a large coffee and it was also good. At the time we stopped, maybe around 8:30am, the place was empty, but as we were leaving the parking lot was filling up. Definitely will stop again when in this area. read more

The search is over! Donald's Donuts is hands down the best donut in all of Ohio!! If you follow my Yelp reviews, you will notice that I have been on a quest to find the best donut. Well I think I can stop looking because the strawberry glaze cake donut at Donald's Donut may just be it! While I was there I overheard a story from a customer. There's just something so nostalgic about this place! Stepping into Donald's feels like stepping back into the 1950s. My recent concern regards their counter area open during the covid virus. I stopped in for a few donuts and those counter seats were packed with older gentlemen all sitting next to each other and not wearing any masks. They were in loud and very active conversations and I left as soon as I could. I'm not going back until there is stronger enforcement of the covid rules. read more

It's been a favorite for many years, but having Donald's cater our wedding was such a huge hit with our guests. Tom was great to work with and was willing to do whatever he could to help us get what we wanted. He even made us a special, larger donut to be used as our "wedding donut," which could not have been more perfect. So many guests took or or two home with them for the next morning! As a testament to how the hometown crowd appreciates Donald's, when we announced that their donuts were the dessert, everyone from Zanesville erupted in cheers! read more

Can anyone REALLY say something negative about this doughnut shop? I know doughnuts are primarily a breakfast thing so to complain that the shop is closed after the daily fresh yum yums are gone is a hard complaint to push. Donald's Doughnuts are the BEST I have ever had...... From a young boy growing up in Zanesville Ohio and going to the original building on the corner of Jacobs and Maple Ave c have enjoyed these fantastic doughnuts. The coffee is great and the doughnuts will keep you coming back..., always a line in the morning and they sell out of the favorites by 10 AM. The Sticks are to die for and the cream filled and Bavarian Cream Cant be beat! All fresh and homemade from scratch every day! I mean everything is made from scratch! Small local donut shop that deserves the 5 star rating. I had a cup of coffee and a couple of plain donuts, yes I ONLY eat plain donuts and many if not all of the chain type franchise donuts shops don't even compare to the plain donuts I had at Donald's. Good coffee also. What's better than fresh donuts and coffee in the morning. read more

I was rather skeptical that such a nondescript donut shop could be as good as the reviews suggested, but I'm fine with admitting I was wrong. Donald's Donuts, to me, is the pride of Zanesville. I know it's not exactly a contested field, but I gladly boast to my friends about how we have the best donut shop in Ohio, and I often ferry samples back to my friends and family who live in Lima. The result is always humbling for them. My personal recommendation? The apple fritters are insanely good. I think an apple fritter from Donald's with a scoop of Tom's vanilla ice cream would put me in the grave. But I would die happy. read more

Just so good. So darn good. I love walking in and seeing the old-timers sitting around and telling yarns and reading the paper, too. Whenever I've been in the service has always been rather short, but I'll bet it's because they're so busy there probably isn't time to be pleasant. That being said, the person at the counter could punch me in the face every time I checked out and it wouldn't even matter, the donuts are THAT GOOD. read more

Donald's Donuts are fantastic! Every time I'm in Zanesville, I get Donald's Donuts for breakfast. Cake donuts are far superior to Yeast Donuts and Donald's has some of the best. the perfect donut shop! admittedly, I lack a sweet tooth but even I love a Donald's donut. their model is very stripped down, no b.s. you walk in, order which donuts they have left & pay the lady. there are no signs calling the donuts fancy names. there isn't even a price board. Donald's is so on top of their game that they sell out of donuts every single day. that statement speaks volumes as to the quality product this Zanesville institution churns out. read more

Very delicious and courteous service. The only thing is, for donuts... They are pretty pricey. But it's really great for a local donut shop and we should support them! Donald's donuts put all other donuts to shame. If you were blindfolded and ate a Donald's donut, followed by any other donut, you would think the second donut was a handful of dirt.
