Bar stools and a couple of older gents having their coffee and morning banter. We got a variety, they were boxed up and we went on our way. If a cake variety is for you, the cinnamon sugar can't be beat! Standard glazed were good and obviously fresh. Filled donuts were equally as flavorful. Yum, yum, YUM!!! Donald's Donuts is a staple in the lovely little town of Zanesville. If you live there, you gotta love it and have likely had too many of their donuts to count (guilty)! If you don't live there and you find yourself passing through, then do yourself a favor and stop in for a tasty treat. This place is open early and stays open longer than most donut spots so it's very likely you'll snag a delicious cinnabon, cake donut, or maybe even a powered one. If you're really luck maybe you'll snag one with your favorite color sprinkles on it. Either way, you definitely will not be sorry! This place has always had a classic feel to it and from the moment you walk in, you can easily see why. From the paintings on the wall to the old school cartons of milk, it's like you took a step back in time. There's a bar available for seating and you'll likely find a few folks reading the paper or chatting amongst themselves. I don't typically stay to eat. I generally grab a box of goodies and surprise someone with them. It's well worth the smile on their face. My absolute favorites include the old fashioned donut. You don't find these often these days and they are so freakin' good. You can identify them quickly by their classic shape and glaze frosting. The maple bars are also to die for, that maple icing just melts in your mouth! The donuts are always so moist and flavorful, it's hard to put them down. If you need another reason to visit this place well... here ya go! It is locally owned and operated by the sweetest family. Tom took over for his father and has done an amazing job keeping the spirit of the place alive. It's always packed on the weekends and it's not hard to find a Donald's Donuts box on a friend or family members counter top. Stopped in for a breakfast donut fix on our drive across Ohio on I-70 during covid mask season and was not disappointed. A short drive (1-2 miles) north of the interstate. Counter help all wore masks. Picked up an apple fritter and an iced jelly donut. Both were exceptional and reminded me of the donuts I ate before some bakers started to make them healthy! Also bought a large coffee and it was also good. At the time we stopped, maybe around 8:30am, the place was empty, but as we were leaving the parking lot was filling up. One of my favorite things about visiting my sister and brother-in-law in Zanesville is this extraordinary little family-run donut shop. Its donuts are quite simply the best 80 cents you'll ever put in your mouth and the tastiest I have eaten anywhere. Our trip would not be complete without stopping by for our usual dozen cremefilled LongJohns, half-dozen Apple Fritters, half-dozen Buttermilks and a dozen mixed all of which are completely consumed by our family of 12 by mid-morning. Be on alert when looking for it the first time however, as the faded, green-topped, Wafflehouse-esque exterior is easy to miss. Just look for jam-packed parking lot beside the new Popeyes, and then pray you'll find an empty space. Once inside, you will typically find its bustling little dining area itself full of regulars and a continual line of to go orderers. One last very important note, you gotta get there early as they usually sell out fast, and when they're gone, they are indeed gone. It probably pretty obvious, but this place is definitely a Gotta Try in my book! read more

Tom was great to work with and was willing to do whatever he could to help us get what we wanted.
