We stopped here for lunch. I give credit to employees that hustle, and the young lady working there did! She had a line of six and moved us through quickly. The store and restroom were clean. We were there for our late lunch on New Year's Eve when pretty much everything is closed but this Subway near the National Park. There were 3 people working and they were all friendly and working hard on New Year's eve. We were the only customers when we got there but there were 8 more customers came in afterwards. My sandwich was as good as expected and my husband's protein salad was good as well. Next day: 1 star: The food was still 5 stars, but the attitude of the person who, when asked, identified herself as the manager, was a big fat 0, There was an entirely new lunch crew who worked pretty slowly, but my issue was with the manager--one of the rudest food service employees I have encountered in my lifetime. It was the lunch rush, and she could not figure out how to apply my electronic gift card. She was clearly very impatient that I was holding up the line and said, "I don't have time for this." She finally gathered all my sandwiches pulling them toward her on the counter and said,"If you don't want to pay for these, you can leave." I finally ended up paying with a card. This is the best option in the area for those with Asian tastes (i.e. want to eat vegetables but not cold food such as salads). The food is more or less what you'd expect from a typical Subway, with slightly less variety and higher prices (but still cheaper than everything else). My mom and the Indian family before us both wanted soup, but it was not offered. Been standing in line for 20 minutes as one person handles the sandwich making and runs the register by herself at Noon. Terrible management. Nowhere else to go so I guess ownership doesn't care about customer service. Buy your stuff on the way here. A turkey sub is 8.99 at this location and other subs are 9.99. Stopped here for lunch after a day at Bryce. This location offers a complete menu and specials. Since this is the only fast food chain in the area, I was surprised to see that they offer the sub of the day special. The prices are a little on the pricer side but it's justified since it's the ONLY fast food chain in the area. Needed to grab a quick bite to go before our roadtrip back home so we ended up here, only to get our items charged individually when we explained that we wanted the meal combo with the cookies, drink & sandwich. Instead they charged us each item individually and only gave us one cookie. We ended up paying about $2-$3 more than what we were supposed to. After brushing that small inconvenience off, we also realized that our sandwich was clumsily made. Probably the worst subway we've ever been to. Bread was stale and hard, service was bad, loud music blaring. Not good at all.

Worst Subway experience, ever! To start, I could have eaten at a local sit-down restaurant for the same price as our 2 subs and 2 kids meals. I was so shocked at the cost that I said, "That can't be right!" to the cashier when she gave me the total. Next, apparently every one of their staff members are "sandwich artists" in training. Surprise! Amazing espresso for super cheap! It's hard to find a good espresso near the national parks, but the espresso at Subway has a great flavor. The restaurant is also open from 7am-9pm, which is a big plus if you want a good shot first thing in the morning. The sandwiches are as you'd expect from any Subway; fresh and made to order. I have never seen so many people behind a counter at subway. I've also never waited so long for a sandwich. I've seen single staffed subways produce more sandwiches than this one. The entire store seems to be run by kids. There were five people. In the 30+ minutes I've waited for my sandwich I've seen one of them warm up one portion of bacon, one guy was only putting the meat on the sandwiches while the third one was waiting and doing nothing until there was a sandwich warmed up and he could put vegetables on it. He was so bored he started cutting pieces of onion while there where 10 customers waiting in line. At the register there were two girls. They were chatting with each other the whole time. Thank Goodness for Subway. It is probably the best decent economic meal in the Bryce Canyon area. The menu is the same Subway menu you'll find anywhere. Hubby and I both had the foot long veggie sandwich on a whole wheat roll. They make it to order. I had all of the veggies plus cheese. H had the same without cheese. Two 12 inch veggie sandwiches were $10! Veggie patty and meat sandwiches are more. Staff was friendly. There were nice tables and chairs but we decided to take our food back o the motel. Sandwiches were decent and satisfying. If you're in the Bryce Canyon NP area you may want to consider having a meal or two here. So we decided that after snacking all morning during our drive to Bryce Canyon, we needed something fresh, with plenty of fresh veggies loaded inside. We got to Subway, ordered a footlong turkey breast (I know it's not part of the $5 footlong specials) and "made it a combo" with chips and a drink. And our total? $13.82. WOW! I had no idea it'd be that expensive for a sandwich that in my home town is usually $6. I guess freshness comes at a price out in the middle of nowhere! I can't complain about the sandwich; it tasted fine and it was refreshing to have a Coke to wake us up after driving nearly 8 hours. Still, $13.82 for what we ordered is outrageous. Plus, the kids that work there seem to have serious customer service issues, as they had no problem talking about their party the night before as they were making our sandwich. Pro: Food in the middle of no where Cons: Bad/slow service, 40% higher prices, false advertising, Out front they have a flag advertising the "usual" $5 footlongs. This is a ruse, as the only $5 footlong they have is breakfast. Instead, what they have, my usual $5 footlongs priced $7. Six inch subs vary in price from $5.50 to over $9. After our sandwiches were finished, the kid who looked 12 just stood and stared at me. I'm assuming he didn't know how to check people out, as he just gestured toward the back and looked at me as if I understood what that meant. To echo the sentiments of some of the other Yelpers, I didn't think I'd ever be reviewing a Subway, but I thought that other visitors to the area would appreciate a more recent review, especially considering the lack of choices in the area. Service: Pretty decent. I know that some of the other Yelpers have had bad experiences but the two gentlemen who were there when we went in were really nice. As a bonus, they gave us a discount on my drink (which they did not have to do). Food: Both my hubby and I ordered the new Smokehouse BBQ Chicken and though it wasn't our fave Subway sandwich ever, the ingredients tasted fresh and they made it exactly the way I wanted it (with extra tomatoes). Value. Here is where I think most people had the issues. The Bryce Canyon City area is an expensive area, and the restaurants (of which there aren't that many) charge a good 20% or more than other comparable restaurants in small towns. This Subway was no exception. Even though the sign outside the Subway proclaimed it to be the home of the five dollar sub, in actuality they only had one - five dollar sub, the special of the month. All the other subs started at six dollars and up. However, considering the area, this Subway was still the best value for a relatively inexpensive meal. To sum it all up: This Subway is the best option for folks looking for an economical meal in a relatively expensive area with very limited choices. This is a review by a vegetarian This Subway, at the turnoff to Bryce Canyon National Park, is a lifesaver. We all try to induldge in the local cuisine when traveling but that can be difficult for a veggie in a remote area. All the decent size restaurants within 40 miles of the park have signs that they "specialize" in steak, chops, ribs, chicken, and seafood (seafood?? really?). A premium priced Veggie delight Sub with a veggie patty here every night kept me from becoming a full-on potatato chip, banana, and trail-mix-a-tarian while visiting nature's wonders. read more
