I was just in the Submarina in Menifee. A clerk was mopping when we walked in and a sandwich maker began making our sandwiches. The one mopping, came to the counter to finish our sandwiches and didn't wash her hands after mopping before making the sandwiches. It was closing time and we took the sandwiches to go but I can't make myself eat a sandwich made by someone who didn't wash their hands after mopping. I went to this Submarine for the first time, I ordered a 6" combo sandwich which came out to be $14.72. WELLLLLL the cashier there yesterday around 1:00 in the afternoon decided to help herself to a TIP. She is American, short blonde hair or it was up in a bun. I've been very happy with Submarina. Haven't been in years though but the last couple of months have had really good experience. Except yesterday I got a Turkey Club Salad and it was a terrible experience. The second pic shows what kind of old gross salad I got. The first pic was what the pic looks like on their website. But it was nothing like this. There wasn't cubed chicken, just deli meat, no avocado and no green onions. Which I find crazy because they don't even offer green onions. But what I got was half the salad was disappointing. I picked out all the bad lettuce but I ended up ditched the salad because I was just grossed out. I would assume if they are known for handmade salads. The employees would see lettuce that looked like that and throw away. I won't be eating there anymore. read more

Holy Crap, I have been looking for a good grinder forever and guess what? I finally found it. Submarina is a versatile Sandwich shop that does not disappoint. I have had sandwiches from them for two days in a row the first day I had a turkey grinder on a hoagie roll made exactly how I asked for it and the second day I had the triple which was roast beef ham and turkey which was absolutely amazing and again made exactly how I asked for it.The prices are reasonable and even if they weren't I would still eat here because I love a really good grinder I can't wait to try other options and I will definitely be returning. Just a warning I'm a big eater so the first sandwich I got I got a 12 inch thinking it would be like Subway and boy was I wrong I ate off that thing for like three meals the portion size is really good worth every penny!!! read more

Extremely rude and unpleasant experience. Notified by text and on DoorDash app that order was ready for pickup. When I arrived was told they were still working on the order. After a few minutes I asked if they were sure it wasn't ready due to messages stating it was ready, a large bearded man raised his voice and shouted, "we send the messages out when we toast the bread". That has not been my previous experience. I told them, "I did not appreciate their rudeness". To which he asked, "Mine or yours?" I said, "Yours sir." Having recently moved to Menifee I was very happy to see multiple Submarina sandwich locations in the vicinity, the one we had in Cypress closed several year ago. I tried the East Coast sandwich on Squaw bead (vs. the baguette) and found it to be DELICIOUS. I was also pleased to see several options for side dishes, not just CHIPS which is what many of their competitors. I have now been back 4 times in the past 3 weeks. Didnt figure it would be too busy as it was a later afternoon visit from craving a fresh sandwich... ended up finding this place to get away from 105 degree weather (who knew it was that hot outside)... There was a steady line the entire time we were there but ready and eager staff to assist us in our sandwich and topping selections! They offer free water as well as cool a/c interior seating. We had a school function, had ordered two big sandwiches for a staff/student luncheon on September 17, 2024. Many, more than 10 teachers and students all ate the sandwiches and all got sick, very sick. I Spoke to the owner on Friday, two days after getting sick, September 20th, and he stated they, he and his family had the flu a few days prior, but funny how nobody in my family of other families got sick. I visited a Submarina location today and the first thing I ask both employees was "if they could change their gloves?" , they both did so without any issues. I'm a chef with over 15 years of culinary experience, and I love to see food service done right and without any issue. Ashley and Taj showed that's they are amazing employees by: taking customers request and handling it professionally, accommodating a customer need to ensure food safety, and for making customers feel welcome and comfortable while making orders. It took me a minute to let off some steam from how annoyed this place made me. I usually go to the Murrieta location on MHS and I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE them there. I wanted to order a party platter (4 subs cut into smaller cuts) for a small event that evening, I usually call the Murrieta location the morning of and it's never been an issue. Well unfortunately the Murrieta location was closed this day 3/1/24, so I called this Menifee location instead. I called in the morning a couple times, nobody answered so I gave it a rest. I waited about an hour before trying to place the order again, when a very rude guy answers the phone "we are too busy to take your order right now, call back in 15-20 minutes". I totally understand if this was the case, but the attitude was a little much. I should've gave up at that point, but everyone always raves about submarinas sandwich's so I figured I would try and give them a chance... since it's normal for people to get frustrated when they are busy and stressed. I called after some time, to when the same rude guy answers. I explain I would like to place an order for a party platter, he says "oh I can't do that, you're going to need to talk to someone else"... placed me on hold. Again, so rude. Another guy answers, I explain how I had attempted to place the order earlier in the day, as I felt like I was cutting it closer to the end of the day to place the order...(it was 3 hours prior to needing the sandwich's, but I wanted to give them enough time) Unfortunately he was another rude employee who says "You want this TODAY?! We have to order those weeks in advance." I explained how I do not understand why, since it's never been an issue for the other location... and it's literally 4 sandwiches. He explains they order a different bread...? So I asked if I could just order 4 different sandwiches. He again states in a rude manner "um are you talking about a party platter?" This is where I gave up. Thank the Lord for helping me control my patience because this was beyond annoying at this point. The attitude, sass and disregard to a customers order was so unprofessional. I called in to ask about their vegetarian sandwiches and I got GREAT service over the phone and I went ahead and ordered and when I came in to pick it up around 1 it wasn't busy at all so all the workers were just having a fun time talking while working and upon arrival I said I had a pick up and I'm assuming it was the girl who took my order remembered my name and said it in a cheery way and that seriously turned my crappy day around!
