The brea here is very soft, so if you like a fresh baked hard bread this is not for you. If you like the soft bread, this was great- I'd take this place over subway/blimpie/jimmy johns any day of the week. Great amount of meat, oil and vin was just right, super pleased with the veg. The service and food was impeccable. I ordered the day before for my daughters birthday and the owner accommodated me completely. There was so much food and everything was fresh and delicious. Had Sub-Ology for the 2nd time today and absolutely loved it!! I am usually hesitant about eating a sandwich/wrap just because I have stomach issues, but my sister and I split the chicken Caesar wrap today and it was amazing! Mind you I am also a picky eater, and this was probably the best wrap I have ever had. I love how they chopped up the chicken and lettuce and it was very tasty! Disappointed ordered here once and it was great turkey was delicious order here a second time and it was NOT boars head turkey I dislike any other cold cuts and was disappointed when I had to waste $10 on a half of sub that wasn't even quality board head. I called the store the day before my daughter's birthday party to order a standard mixed platter of wraps to feed about 8-10 people and they accepted the order with no problems. We ordered Buffalo chicken, caprese, turkey/lettuce/cheese, and an extra pesto wrap. I received a call the morning of the party to confirm the contents, the order, and the pickup time - very professional. Everything was very reasonably priced and affordable. Normally a sub shop wouldn't get me excited (especially when I'm pregnant since cold cuts = no no). But Sub-Ology offers a bunch of options besides the normal subs and sandwiches. I ordered the Smashed Panini which had avocados, chickpeas, and roasted red peppers. It was really good and very filling. Plus it was only $6 which I thought was a great deal. I ordered a sub via seamless at 12:59 and at 2:14 it still had not arrived so not only did I reach out but also seamless reached out to check the status and no one answered so I cancelled my order. I then get an angry call from the owner asking why I cancelled and the order was delivered. I checked outside and there was no food after he so angrily informed me it had been delivered on time. I always liked this place prior but this issue left a bad taste in my mouth. Maybe he should have called the delivery person or seamless before calling and giving me attitude. read more

I was excited to see Sub-Ology open up where Dubs Subs used to reside. To get a really strong sub, I would have to drive out to Kenilworth, so the possibility of a really great sandwich shop had me intrigued. Overall, Sub-Ology is a strong addition to the neighborhood with a couple flaws needed to be ironed out. The Good: 1. Very nice menu beyond just sandwiches. There are a lot of inventive flavor combinations in their salads and wraps. Much beyond just a regular deli and sandwich shop. 2. I got a sub, salad, and wrap. All were of very good quality and delicious. 3. The bread was extremely fresh and soft. Just how I like it! The Bad: 1. The prices were quite reasonable for most items, but I still struggle with $6 - $7 for HALF of a sub. I was able to overcome this hurdle because the half sizes are actually pretty large for a sub. Not quite as large as, for example, a full footlong at Subway, but filling nonetheless. The Ugly: 1. While everyone working there was plenty nice, the service is incredibly slow and unorganized. I saw orders mixed up several times leading to the entire line waiting for the employees to sort everything out before we could get moving. I'm assuming this confusion is mostly due to the recent opening, but the process problems are definitely something the owner will need to address going forward. If Sub-Ology is able to correct the process issues, I see no reason why it won't become a staple in Cranford (and my routine) for a long time. read more

Great addition to the neighborhood! Cranford has been in need of a really good sub shop and it looks like this is it. The bread is fresh and the portions are generous. The menu is pretty large for a sub shop, includes a lot of healthy and vegetarian options, as well. I've been back several time already and have always been pleased. They offer sides like hummus and carrots, instead of just the basic Mac salad. My only issue is the person who built the subs the last time I went must not have been too experienced, because she added the oil and vinegar in the middle of the sandwich, so the bread didn't have deliciousness it gets when it absorbs the dressing.
