Ma Po Tofu
Ted K.

Converted diner which was a little odd but pleasant. When I went it was very cold inside so dress appropriately. The parking lot seemed a bit small for the size of the restaurant. I went for lunch on a Thursday and most of the business was take out. The star of the show were the steamed pork bao buns which were amazing. The steamed crystal shrimp dumplings were good and the ma po tofu was a little disappointing. But those steamed pork bao buns were amazing

This place is amazing! Everytime we come it is the same person taking our order, he is very attentive and the food is always made quickly. There is rarely anyone else in the restaurant when we are here which is so upsetting because this food is SO. GOOD. It is very clean inside and the tables are huge so you can fit all the food you order on it! The red bean bao are delicious and my go to. Very fluffy and flavorful, same with the pork bao. The wontons are chewy and delicious, perfect taste with the oil. The mapo tofu always blows me away. Can't wait to come back!

Best Chinese food in upstate NY I've ever had! It tasted like I was in NYC Chinatown. Very good quality, quick service and everything came out nice and hot! I'm so glad I saw this place on TikTok and decided to try it with my sister. It was such a pleasure to have one plate after another come out on point. I loved their pan fried buns, the beef ho fun had just the right amount of sauce, the sesame chicken was soo good and even the bok choy was tasty. Highly recommend and I'll definitely be back soon.

Su Su Dim Sum has a large menu with lots of options! My favorite so far is the sesame chicken and spring rolls.

Didn't realize that the food was picture worthy until we had finished most of it! Chicken pan fried dumplings.

I would have given this a 4.7 but Yelp only allows four or five stars so that's why we're giving it a five star because it wasn't perfect, but overall really enjoyable First and foremost: The food was better than expected. The hot and sour soup had a nice heat level - about a 3 out of 10, I probably would prefer a little bit more spice, but I think it was just right for the venue especially considering so often times hot and sour soups have no heat and it's flat without some spice. Short rib soup was delicious and shareable. Yakatori chicken skewers were also great. Lightly charred and very flavorful. We also ordered various dumplings from the dim sum menu but everyone at so fast that I only tried one pan fried and it was very good. Service: Sufficient but not super friendly. Quick service. Bathroom: Very clean, there was soap in the dispenser and paper towels to dry hands. Overall a pleasant surprise on the road.

Honey Walnut Chicken

Sad. I cant get around when a restaurant has no consistency. Ive ordered this honey walnut chicken many times as its one of my favorite dishes but today it came to me totally different. This dish is like the plain breaded chicken you would use in a sweet and sour dish except they covered it in some honey flavored mayonnaise . The dish ive had in the past was a brown sauce that was incorporated into the chicken breading sorta like the general tso dish and it was wonderful. Please be more consistent.

I've heard so many good things about this restaurant I had to try it. The inside was very casual and clean and I was greeted when I came in. You can order at the counter for take out or sit down and they'll take your order for dining in. I ordered an egg roll and Steamed Pork Bao Bun. 8 buns in the order. The egg roll was okay but after trying other items that were really excellent I'll pass on the egg roll next time. My pork buns were delicious, the bun itself was soft and thankfully thinner than most places ! The pork filling was flavorful and dipping the bun in the sauce added that nice umami taste. Most places the buns are so thick that the filling gets lost. I ordered the Roast Pork Fried Rice to bring home. I could hear them making it fresh in the kitchen and I couldn't resist trying some as I sat in the car because I knew it would be so hot and fresh. It was some of the best I've had. Lightly sauced with lots of Roast Pork pieces and lots of flavor.

Cute little Chinese take out restaurant that took over an old diner so it looks like a Chinese diner lol. Lots of room to spread out. Friendly staff and kept our tab open vs some Chinese restaurants that charge you per interaction. Only canned drinks, definetly prefer fountain for a sit down experience. Food tasted great. Was exactly $20 a person with tax and tip which is not bad. They also had duck on the menu which I love but definetly need to prepare for so I will be back!

The interior is clean and nicely decorated with some greenery and pictures. They have a pretty extensive menu but I was keeping it simple and tried the hot and sour soup and the steak and cheese bao buns. The dough on the buns has a semi-sweet flavor to it. I'd like to try their dumplings in the future. The hot and sour soup had nice fresh veggies and I could taste the notes of sour but I didn't get the spicy kick I was looking for. There was one server and the place wasn't packed but he was very friendly. I'd definitely go back and try more of the menu.

Shrimp and pork dumplings
Tom M.

Great service and convenient location with plenty of parking! However, the dumplings were pretty bland and seem to be predominantly the frozen variety that you can get at any Asian grocery store. The shrimp dumplings actually tasted handmade, but lacking of real shrimp or they just were not fresh. The ingredients were either stored for a while or just not balanced with the protein. Of course, there are few places that offer dim sum in Syracuse so I was excited when I discovered it but also it seems that most people would not have much experience with what good dim sum is. Great concept but poorly executed.

Shumai pork and shrimp

You drive up and see that the parking lot is empty. Initial thought is that this place sucks so much that no one wants to dine there. You open the doors and find yourself greeted by staff welcoming you to sit wherever you like. You patiently wait for your friend to show up because you didn't want to be dining alone in this aesthetically pleasing and clean establishment. What you don't know is -- this place has only been open a month! No wonder it's not bustling (yet). The shumai shrimp and pork were my favorite out of everything I ordered. Everything tasted great -- even my friend that never had dim sum enjoyed the food and experience. I noticed a handful of people ordering food delivery from this place -- so while there may not be any people dining in house -- there are some eating take out from here. Looking forward to trying more of their food and supporting this new local business.

Salt and pepper shrimp.... Soooooo good, 1st time trying. Not a saucy dish but well seasoned ...

2nd time here, but 1st time trying Salt and Pepper shrimp.. soooooo good! Not a saucy dish but the flavors are savory... fresh onions and red/green bell peppers over crunch noodles and shrimp is not over breaded and heavy, it's light. Definitely try it

My order took about 10 minutes, 1 hot Connecticut Lobster Roll and 1 Cold Maine lobster Roll. It was a such a beautiful spring day I decided to open the back of my van and eat in the sun! ( There was no place to eat at this business.) The hot buttery Connecticut roll was tender and delicious, it had a nice amount of lobster meat. The other roll, the cold one had noticably less meat. I was disappointed but it was delicious and next time I'll try something else, people were saying that the lobster tacos and lobster quesadillas were very good too.

Cute crab shack ambience, it's a hot spot so order or arrive before the dinner crowd. My first visit was a Saturday around 6 and it was crowded and not a seat to be had! All the seafood platters being served looked amazing, so I knew I was in the right spot! I was greeted as I approached the counter and was assisted with my take out and recommended popular party sack combinations. I ordered #3 which includes a lobster tail, one cluster or 1/2 lb snow crab, 1/2 lb shrimp (I recommend requesting Head Off!) a piece of corn, and 2-3 potatoes. I chose Cajun seasoning and, very hot spice. Warning you best be a very spicy hot lover, it was challenging but loved it! I have already returned for a second time, also #3 sack added extra corn $3 and extra potatoes $3. CrabnGo special seasoning and still extra hot! Delicious not as over the top as Cajun Hot! $47 and change with the added corn and potatoes. $42 and change without. Only one quarter piece of corn first order and two potatoes. Love it! I very much enjoyed the ceviche and it was a large portion. My partner seemed to like the potatoes. I had the whole fish special. An interesting experience to say the least. No idea what kind of fish it was but it tasted good. Do not order this trying to look cool or attractive. This is a messy experience- not for a first date. My partner had a vegetarian entree, something with mushrooms. She enjoyed it. We had a total of 3 mocktails as well. Bill was almost 200 dollars. Steep for no booze and one person ordering all vegetarian. Take that into consideration when planning a night out as th drink menu looked great so you're destined to go above that if you booze. The tables were very close to each other and the dining room was loud. Not romantic in my opinion. Food was pretty good, rest of the stuff could use a little work.

TPOH nailed it: "Speaking of hearing, I can't take too much loud music I mean I like to play it, but I sure don't like the racket" I'm starting here, with the vibe, which sets the scene, dig? Decor-wise, it's luxe lounge, and is a welcome surprise in the Salt City. We use Resy, and...either the hostess misheard our party size, didn't really care, didn't really doublecheck to read our actual reservation, or whatever man, that's just your opinion. So, the backroom might have been a bit better suited for us olds, we were ushered into the front room. Not the window, but pretty darn close. Again, fun for people watching, inside and out. But damn it kids, if you have a DJ, I want to talk to Sir Vibes A Lot and ask them how they think thumping house music actually aids in digestion? Maybe I unconsciously started chewing to the unrelenting 4/4 beat, anything's possible. Now onto the menu, and back to the identity crisis. Like a lot of places, the York has a broad spectrum of offerings. Burger. Nashville Hot. Multiple pasta options. Sure, sure, sure. The porkchop with kimchi fried rice was the clear winner, hands down. The chicken, mashed and greens took second place (but I'll give ya a pro tip chef: the longer you cook your greens, the better they are). The salmon was a distant third because everything bagel seasoning is a lot after a while, and the veg was uninspired. Our TL:DR recommendation is come for cocktails and poutine. The poutine satisfied by itself. Our server was great- thanks, Destiny!
