Pot stickers were amply stuffed with meat which was really nice since some restaurants skimp on this. The Kung pao was good. I like mine a little spicier but it was fine. They chili sauce they have is the bomb so I added some. The dish also had way too many peanuts but otherwise it was fine. The young woman working the counter was friendly and efficient. Definitely recommend and will go back on my next visit.

Other people tell me it is their favorite Clearlake restaurant. There have been fewer and fewer restaurants in town since many of my favorite places shut down due to the COVID shutdown a few years back. I recently went back there with a few friends. I decided to avoid the eggplant dish, just in case. Most of the time I eat vegetarian. One friend had a shrimp walnut dish that looked really good. The shrimp was properly cooked and seasoned. My one friend also ordered an appetizer with fried wontons and little cream puffs and some other things. I would normally not order deep fried things because they tend to be greasy and hard for me to digest. These appetizers were not greasy and were tasty. The portion size was good for all our meals. The cost per meal was reasonable compared with other local restaurants. The vegetables were ample and very fresh. What I ordered was the Vegetable Egg Foo Young. It came piled with fresh vegetables atop the egg. I think of egg foo young as a Chinese omelette. The amount and quality of the vegetables makes this dish special for me. I have now been back 3 times, making sure to order that dish each time. One time I also ordered Mu Shu Vegetables which is akin to Chinese tacos with a plum sauce condiment. Yummy also. My sweetheart ordered cashew broccoli and liked that so much that is what they always order now. She also especially loved the abundant of properly cooked fresh broccoli. We always eat our fill and still have another full meal at home with our leftovers. Magic Wok and Kour Thai are my two favorite restaurants in Clearlakes. We also like certain Mexican restaurant across from Food etc. but that is in slot #3 because the Mexican restaurant does not serve many vegetables. It is otherwise hard to be a vegetarian in ClearLake. Lucky we sometimes eat fish. The only complaints I have about Magic Wok recently is that sometimes the tables are sticky, but the Lady proprietor usually wipes down the table before you order. I don't recommend touching the table before that. The other complaint I have is that the path to the toilets are obstructed with boxes and supplies which makes it impossible to get back to the facilities with my walker. Because of the bathroom access problem we have elected to order takeout if I need to use the facilities.

I tasted the beef and liked they made it spicy! The meat itself was alittle too chewey for me. Note this is Take Out ONLY! They have indoor seating but allegedly stopped serving inside after Covid hit. I think this is the only Chinese food in this town according to my girlfriend. Wallet friendly. No frills food. They forgot my chili oil but that's OK. I probably won't be back unless visiting in this area and craving Chinese food. The lady that took my order was nice so thats a plus!

Best Chinese food in Lake County by far. The owners are very nice and are quick to accomadate what ever needs that you have. I have eaten here many times and really enjoyed it. Thank God that new owners bought this place and remodeled it such a massive upgrade to the old Magic Wok here. read more

Their coffee and tea are decent. I haven't tried other options here. Their kitchen has different hours and located to the right of the drink window. It is where all cooking takes places and you can pickup food here. They used to call out names for your food but now has transitioned into a buzzing card calling you when your food is ready. They come in plenty of outdoor seating (no heaters for colder days) and a trailer for indoor seating. It is also close to the garden for additional seating with great views. I am a bit sensitive to smells. Trailer is warm but it comes with smells. Overall, their food is relatively healthy, definitely well prepared but a bit on a pricey side. Some wait time is expected. It has improved during my most recent trip. At some point during Covid, the wait could be 40min. I noticed it has come down quite a lot recently. They come with standard daily options and daily specials. I found them to be quite delicious. Their protein is always well prepared. Salmon is always crispy on the side for the texture and tender inside. Chicken have always been tender and juicy. They also come with a lot of sauces to your liking.
