So far had the best mole sauce I've ever tasted! Their chicken enmole was so full of flavor and comforting textures, it was hard to stop eating after I was full. We rolled in thinking "taqueria" - which it is, but the prices were on the higher side for a taqueria. Two meals and two cokes were nearly $60. The huarache was delicious, but I think we missed out on the amazing customer service that others were raving about. The guy that rang us up seemed to be learning both English, and the ropes of a new job, so service was perfectly adequate, but nothing to comment on. It was also HOT AS HADES inside despite the fact that we sat immediately in front of the AC. I'm definitely willing to come back to try this torta, and I'm sorry, did someone say coffee horchata? Still in love with this place. Tried the veggie huarache recently - O M G. So. Good. The perfect consistency and freshness of each individual ingredient- how do they do that? There are so many ingredients and despite the variety of cooking times there must be to get each ingredient perfect it somehow happens. From the potato to the squash/(zucchini?), to the grilled nopales and onions then all the fresh shredded lettuce/veg toppings, oaxacan cheese- what the...? Not to mention the fresh homemade huarache-shaped corn tortilla it all sits on is so fantastic in its own right. Top everything with their perfect tomatillo salsa- so amazing. Literally felt energized like I just had some caffeine or something after eating this meal. I work at the middle school across the street. 10:45am an employee was outside cleaning, blasting obscene-N-Word music. So loud that I heard it across the highway inside my space with a shut door. I went out looking for a student and found that it was coming from the restaurant. I called/I sent a text. Someone finally answered at 11am. When I told her what was wrong she said I don't speak English. I said can I talk to someone who speaks English and she said no. Ok not cool. The N words have still continued. So not cool. I wrote a review May 2nd; I was so upset about getting ripped off, that I not only posted on Yelp, I also called the owner and told him how I got ripped off. I was furious about this. I happened to be in the area last week and I pulled in and spoke with the owner's wife? She gave me back my $32.00 and apologized. She said her husband was so angry about the Yelp Review, that I told her I was going to post this on Yelp to let everyone know , they did right by the customer and they gave me my money back. Best Mexican food hands down in LC! There's no need to take a flight to Oaxaca, Oaxaca came to us! Food tastes exactly how they throw it down in Southern Mexico. For the people that are saying, "What, another Mexican restaurant?!" This isn't yo average fajita grillin, pina colada blendin, weak salsa makin, taco Tuesday specialin, El Torito vibin spot. You can't find cuisine from this Mexican state at your regular everyday taco joint and they do it right. My Mexican peeps who say they can just cook this at home, I can too, but food taste better when someone else makes it for you and these guys cook your food in under 10 mins instead 2 hours. Get anything on the menu, it's all good. All ingredients are fresh and good quality. They don't use select grade B meat cuts like the taco trucks. Asada is thinly cut, juicy, and tender with no gristle for you steak snobs. But if you were to try one thing, get the Tlayuda. Look at the picture with this review. It's worth getting. If you don't know already, Oaxaca is known for good cheese and nopales. Every dish comes with cactus, so if you don't like it, omit it. Also don't be scared of the prices, you most def get your money worth with the big portions. Veggie peeps...black beans are fire! Support this local joint, food is legit. For those still sour from not getting another burger stand with soft serve, drive your butt down to foster freeze, they were always better! read more

I came to the hot springs and stayed in a motel. Me and my friends were looking for a good place to eat and we found this place. It was kind of late so not many places were open so we decided to come here. Everyone there was so nice and the food was amazing!!! The decor in there felt nice and it was pretty comfy. The horchata was so good, but I accidentally spilled it and I was devistated because it was so good. We started to clean it up and then the guy cleaned it up so it wasn't that dirty and he was pretty cool!! The quesadilla and the quesbirria were really big and were definitely worth the price. We all shared our food because it was all so good and we wanted to try everything. Overall everything was good about this place and if there was one near where I lived I would probably be 20 times heavier because I would be coming here everyday!! read more

This place is amazing! The lady at the cashier was super friendly and offered to explain anything on their menu. We ordered a regular horchata, COFFEE horchata, quesadilla with carne asada, and torta with pastor. We waited outside in the shade, eating homemade chips and salsa they brought out, watching the groups of motorcycles ride by; very chill place. After a short wait they brought us the best torta and quesadilla I've had in my life. Huge serving, and amazing quality. The tortilla for the quesadilla was homemade with blue corn and had an amazing chrispy outside and soft interior. The torta was indescribable how good it was. I'll be coming back again. read more

This is a small, no frills restaurant right off the highway where you're going to get some authentic Oaxacan food. It's counter service and everyone is very friendly. I went straight for the Tlayuda because it has so much variety. It's basically a layer of all kinds of food on top of a fried tortilla. It's a great size for one person and tastes amazing.
