Let me just start off by saying, I'm going to become a regular for sure. They have more meat options than what's one the menu. My priority being tripas (intestines), which is my favorite. I think the only thing missing is a good standout salsa. Luckily it's also a supermarket so I just bought a hot sauce I know I like to eat with my meal. The quality and flavor of the tripas was amazing. I drool a little every time I think about it. The horchata was very good as well. My husband got a carne plate and the carne didn't taste great to me, I think it just needed different seasoning or maybe it was an off night for that meat. Doesn't change my mind this place is great! We got a tripas burrito to go. $18 is kind of expensive but it was filled with tripas meat. The lady who works the register and taking/bringing your order is so nice, patient and friendly. The decoration/ambiance isn't amazing and I wouldn't say it's a fancy place but quality over aesthetics is my personal feeling in the subject. The gal behind the counter was friendly and answered our questions about the difference in some of the meats. We didn't have to wait long & the burritos were ginormous! Ester and Mondo have a great little Market. They serve mexican food and burgers. If you want food to go, order ahead of time because food normally takes 20-25 minutes and on busy nights it could take longer. I like the cheese enchilada plate and I get two extra sauces because they don't put a lot of sauce on the enchiladas. read more

We were craving Mexican food and fortunately we stumbled upon Rosales Market that provided a simple casual atmosphere surrounded with/ everything your heart (stomach) desires: panadería, Tamarindo Mexican candies I grew up on, all kind of drinks (Modelo Michelada pineapple cha cha cha), Fresca ice cream and little Restaurante to enjoy all the goodies and good down home meal. Rosales is an unexpected gem in South Lake. Many don't realize there's a taqueria with dine-in seating inside, making it a great casual spot when we're craving taqueria-style Mexican food. The staff is always friendly, and the food is generally consistent--though occasionally the carne asada can be a bit gristly, likely from being reheated. Our main issue has been with takeout. We've had orders lost or delayed, even when calling in 30-40 minutes ahead. Food tends to come out slowly whether dining in or picking up. Wow we had such a delicious dinner and the service was excellent. We had the prawn Diablo and the carne asada plate. Both were huge portion so had to take half of it home. Started out with free chips and salsa and they were also really good. It was so good. We came back for dinner again and shared a 7 mare seafood soup. If you're driving through Middletown I highly recommend Rosales. Not only do they have amazing Mexican food but they also have fantastic breakfast food up the street at their second restaurant Beuhlahs. Service is always good here, ambiance is alright. It's based inside a little convenience store but it's still very friendly. You can buy pre-marinated meats as well, which tastes amazing. read more

We had the Huevos Rancheros and some kind of Chorizo scramble that they recommended. Both were outstanding. Lots of food for $35! Solid food. Only taco joint I find myself coming back to in South LC. Anything asada is good. Get the burritos without cheese and crema, they already come with guac and pico. They also have soy meat substitutes for the vegans/veggie peoples. I had the super burrito with their soy meat and it was delicious! I love that the tortilla was soft and almost doughy instead of dense and hard like other tortillas. Their chips and salsa are amazing! I've never been to a restaurant where they serve their to-go salsa in three different size containers, but they did! Usually the salsa comes in the tiny single serve cups, but not at Rosales! The smallest container was more than enough salsa for our chips and our burritos and tacos. My Cal Fire friend loves going here all the time, and now I know why! We will be going back for sure! read more

Wow, what a funny little joint. This place reminds me of any number of little grocery store/eateries that you can find in Cabo, Cancun, PV or elsewhere in Mexico. Basically, you walk in and you are in a grocery store. If you take a gander to the right, there are 5-6 tables for sit down. If you take a goose to the left, you see a cash register and some refrigeration units with beverages, ice cream, etc. Definitely do not go for the ambiance, because, ambiance sprinted by this joint. But then again, does one always need ambiance in order to get good, authentic food?? I say not. I moseyed into the joint with the in-laws tired from a weekend of doing plumbing. We had never tried the place before and thought we would give it a whirl. I had the combo plate of chile relleno and carne asada taco - it came with the typical rice and beans. the relleno was cooked well, not hard, not too soft - the cheese was doing the necessary ooze which is important. The taco was a double tortilla filled with tender, well-spiced meat, cilantro and onions, once again, very tasty. All in all, the food is worth the entrance. As long as you don't mind eating in a grocery store with racks of potato chips and Hostess ding-dongs lining your table, you should enjoy the experience. I am in town for the disaster relief after the Valley fire. I get a one hour lunch every day and so are so many options in this town! I've been blessed to be working in the middle of the town, so everything is in walking distance! I love this town! Don't pass this place up thinking that it's just a small grocery store. The outside sign reads Rosales meat market, but once inside you will see their small dining area! It's amazing! I see a full blown restaurant in their future! This is one of my favorite places to eat! I eat here 2-3 times a weeks and the quality of food is always phenomenal and the customer service is great! Big portions and food that is flavored so well! My favorite dish so far is their Chile Verde , The pork was so tender and flavor was amazing! The best part about this place is The Chips and Salsa! Best salsa i have ever had in my whole life! Came in for a quick lunch after seeing their food next door at the local rock shop. The restaurant is inside the market so be prepared to expect this kind of set up. The server was very friendly. The chips and salsa are fresh and yummy. Chips are very light and thin and not heavy with oil. Salsa is fresh with raw onions and cilantro. Love it. They have bottled Coca-Cola from Mexico so I really liked that. I ordered carnitas plate. Super flavorful, comes with rice and beans, fresh salsa, guacamole, sour cream and tortillas. Large portions. The food is delicious here and the price point is awesome. However, the food is really inconsistent and the service can be hit or miss. We have waited in the seating are for 20 minutes (I wish I were kidding) while our food was sitting behind the counter, all while being told it wasn't ready yet. We got home and realized our order was cold. It's also very tricky to get them to make the food the way you order it. I always ask for extra onion and extra cilantro, yet hardly recieve any. I have recieved a burrito with the wrong kind of meat in it. When they're good, they're good. Unfortunately, they're just not always on their game. read more
