I have shopped Mexi Markets many times, the stand out among their wares is most items are meant to make one's own meals. Stocked with all sources for a cook, it is harder to shop if you don't have a kitchen. La Monarce has all that, plus so much more... They have a mini restaurant with all the fixins. Tamales warm o cold, A perfect Chile Relleno that can be stretched 3-4 meals as an addition, or all at once. This restaurant is tied in with a full butchery, and they got the fresh meats. The produce dept. is stuffed with fresh fruits and vegetables, items supplied by independent producers. As independents there is serious lack of pesticides and GMOs. It's in the taste, then the feel. Tangerines year round, some high quality libations. The most amazing thing is you name it, they've got it or a good alternative. Just had dinner from there last night, really good authentic Mexican food, it can be busy in the afternoon and evening but you can call ahead. They also have a wonderful butcher with all kinds of stuff. Their Fajita mix is excellent and priced fairly. P.S. learn some Spanish ot helps. read more

Can I just say, BOMB DIGSSSSSSSSSSS! This is one of the most authentic Mexican food I have had. They had everything I wanted. My first day in this county for work, I ordered their carnitas tostadas for lunch. Post 2 days, I ordered their Chilaquiles for breakfast with fresh avocado. MAN, this place is legit! I loved everything I ate. the best part were the chilaquiles! I really enjoyed them! If you are ever here, this is probably the most highly recommended place I would force people to try. Haha. Awesome food. Great service...an all round great place. In a whirl wind of getting my hyper toddler out of the restaurant, and carrying to go boxes I had forgotten my purse. Every woman's worst nightmare...to top it off, I didn't realize it was gone until I got back to Sacramento!!!!!! I called the restaurant and they had found it, and held it in a safe place until I was able to have it picked up the next day. Everything was still in my purse...including $50 in cash(which sadly, I had already parted with mentally..assuming I wouldn't get it back)there are still honest and kind people in the world. My boyfriend and I went on a spur of the moment day trip to Lake Berryessa yesterday. We decided to take a random road out of there and see if it would take us to Cache Creek. It didn't. It did take us through a wildlife reserve where we saw a myriad of animals and 2 hours later we ended up in Lower Lake. For all the snakes, jack rabbits, turkeys, quail, deer, etc., etc., we saw and for tacos, it was well worth the adventure!! I was starving at this point and saw this Mexican market that was advertising tacos and burritos. This market is large inside and has everything you could need to satisfy your "I wish I was in Mexico" fix. From canned food, to bottled drinks, to dried animal parts, I'm sure you could find it at La Monarca. We ordered 3 tacos from the man behind the counter, two carnitas and one asada for $1.50 each. What I liked best about these tacos is that they were simple and reminded me of the ones I would get as a kid in Mexico. They came with meat, onions, cilantro and salsa. They gave us limes to squeeze over them and that taste brought me back. The price was right, the service was friendly and the food was authentic. Oh and the stop was very random and we did make it to Cache Creek an hour later! read more

Great find if you are looking for Mexican grocery store products. We find all the peppers for different sauces and salsas there. Plenty of kitchen items (tortilla makers, bean pots, etc) and the prices are very cheap. No green onions when we went, but maybe they were just out. They have a butcher shop with all your favorite cuts of meat for your Mexican dishes. Will try some of their meats next time. We did try their tacos and they are good. Not as good as Rancho Mendoza tacos in Santa Rosa, but these are close to home and the convenience factor does play a role in the 4 star rating. read more

This may sound silly but part of the reason i got my lil place was cause this place was closeby. This is the best mexican food for miles and nice to pop in to grab essentials, prices are decent! Sometimes cashiers can get a little snarky on a bad day but its hot in there and they get so many ppl, hey i would too. Suggestion: Just dont buy milk or products with important exp dates here, they are GOOD just itll only last a week maybe. read more

Unfortunately, I have to change my mind on This place. I recently went to this store. After taking my card and paying for my stuff I waited for her to bag my things. After standing there I realized she wasn't bagging it.So I asked her if she would please bag my stuff.She told me it cost 10 cents. Ok, that doesn't sound that bad. But I only use a card I had no change.. She did not ask me before running my card, and I clearly needed a bag... I had two 20. Oz sodas, a two lliter 2 limes , pack of cigarettes and candy.... On top having my stuff, my wallet, my keys and my phone. So now If I use my card they charge me 35¢ for anything under 5$ so now I have to run my card again and give them 45¢ to bag my stuff... no way I filled my shirt and left.....!!! read more

Really good food at la monarca, Lately though probably due to covode 19 the speed and service has been lacking. Also I have noticed the prices have gone up. Four Chile riano's cost around $15.00 plus tax .Other places I have found Chile riano's to be around 2.00 to 3.00 a piece. They are still very good though and I like their meat market. read more

They have sooo many goodies here you have to stop in!! Lower lake is small but main street offers a few shops and this one is the best by far!! They are part grocery store part Mexican grill. They offer a full menu. Enchiladas, tacos, tortas, tostadas, burritos and more. Fresh meat and produce as well. We always grab their fresh pastries and usually get some super burritos too. They are amazing and the food is authentic. They have amazing meat choices and its all killer. You Have to try this place when your near by!! read more

I work very close to La Monarca and have been a shopper there long before they began serving food. The tacos are delicious. I have never had anything that wasn't great and the service is always friendly and quick. Shopping in the little market is always an adventure and I end up eating there at least once a week. Do not pass up the El Pastor and Carnitas tacos! Delish!! read more

I'd heard really good things about their food and after a 5 mile run that ended in downtown Lower Lake, I decided to try it. I went in for a burrito and maybe a taco. Unfortunately, the food counter had closed 10 minutes earlier, but they were nice enough to offer to cook up a few tacos for me. I thought they were quite tasty. I got mine spicy and they had the right amount of heat. I look forward to going back for a burrito (which a lot of my friends highly recommend) and eventually trying some of the other menu items. read more
