Really tasty food, service was super as we were the only diners inside on a very hot day 103f... but they had lots of take outs while we were there. My mahi mahi tacos were $12 and beef enchilada was $4.50 which I find quite reasonable lately. Nothing is cheap anymore, but everything tastes great so no complaints. Ambiance okay. Customer service decent, but the food & drinks I tried are trash. Only ordered a strawberry margarita & quesa birria tacos but the margarita had no alcohol in it & the tacos had way too much cheese with no type meat & they used cheddar cheese. Never had that before, but absolutely not. I took one bite & couldn't do it. Flavorless & overloaded with cheese. They didn't ask how anything was & I didn't feel like complaining so I just paid & left. It was empty inside for a reason I guess. read more

A week ago, I was helping my son move from Glenhaven. Before we left Clearlake, I took him to a late lunch at Cabo's. He had lived in Glenhaven for 2 years and never ate at Cabo's. I ordered the same combo plate that I ordered 3 weeks earlier. I told my son to order his own combo plate. He got a shrimp taco, chicken burrito, and a shrimp enchilada. 10 months ago I wrote a raving review. I've been back 4 times. Each time a worse disappointment then the last. Last week my husband got a chimichanga- stuffed with boiled pork and blah rice/ that's it. Absolutely no flavor. My try of a new dish the taquitos was prompted by last shrimp taco was old soured shrimp. The choice was beef or chicken. You have to get a set amount. I got mixed. At least the beef had a little flavor added. The chicken was so over cooked it split open and dry fried the chicken to a tasteless crunch. Inedible. The male serving was unfriendly and uninterested. Unfortunately visited this place last week. I tried to review on their website, but apparently since the review was bad I was not allowed to post it. I ordered a mango margarita and when the server delivered it he advised me to drink it slowly because it had a lot of alcohol in it and a lady before me drank four and got very drunk. He must have thought because I have grey hair that I am stupid. There was no alcohol in the drink. Did not want to cause a scene with my Mom there so I said nothing. When my Mom's meal arrived it was burn to a crisp. The shrimp were little charcoal bricks - server was not concerned. He did not offer to make a new dish or another dish. I advised that we would not pay for the dish. My Mother did no realize until she returned home that the server had added $9.00 to the bill after she had already given him a generous tip. We will never ever return to this scamer location. Mom was unable to return and demand a refund and I live out of town. On top of that the food was only mediocre - Nice work to save on burnt food and alcohol. Was he putting the money in his pocket? Shame on them. read more

My wife and I became instant fans of Cabos on our first visit. So much so that we're currently celebrating our 3rd anniversary here. We walked in, and were immediately recognized and welcomed back. Not only was that a great personal touch, but a sign of the attentiveness of the staff here; you can count on them to get things right. The atmosphere is wonderful. It's bright, airy, open, and very comfortable. Mexican music plays on speakers, the Mexican art and decor are a nice touch to the overall atmosphere. As for the food? That's what made us such instant fans. This is easily the best Mexican food I've eaten, north of Sonoma County. Rich, flavorful, and served in perfectly sized portions. I don't know how they do it, but I leave here knowing I've eaten exactly the right amount. All in all, I personally cannot say enough about Cabos. Great location, nice place to eat, and outstanding food at an unexpectedly good price. read more

Update: The we haven't ate here in over a year. The last time we ate here my husband and I were served rancid ground beef enchiladas. The meat was so gone you could smell it. It's very sad to see a place like this go down hill. Now this is great Mexican food! I'm addicted to their green salsa! Things I love about Cabos: * The staff - everyone who works as Cabos is friendly * The food - we eat here a few times a week for years and everything is delicious. I love the rice and beans. The enchilada sauce is wonderful with deep layered flavors. * Something for everyone - If you aren't into Mexican food, then try their cheeseburger and garlic fries! * The salsa bar - I like the fact that I can go fill up on salsa * Cold beer - Cabos keeps their beer cold * Salad bar - If you are in the mood for a salad, they have you covered. You can build your own salad. * Fresh iced tea - Once in awhile the tea is funky but for the most part it's always fresh. * The older male waiter - He's a dancer, singer, and will do magic tricks for your kids! I took my fiancee here soon after New Years Day. The good things: Service was quite good, and the waiter was attentive. The restaurant was very clean and with friendly decor. When a variant of one of their menu items was requested, it was fulfilled without question. The not-so-good things: I constantly found myself wanting more flavor out of the food. I ordered my standard "two tacos, beans and rice". The beans were almost flavorless, and the taco meat was. . .monochromatic in flavor. My fiancee ordered a chicken dish that tasted better, but still had little dimension to its seasoning. Nothing really tasted bad here, and all of the food looked delicious, but the cooking here appears to have a seasoning problem. I really wanted to like the food here, but when the rice and the chips and salsa are the best tasting things of your meal, there is a problem. I might want to go back some time, but first, I am going to check out the other Mexican restaurants in the area. read more

Cabo is at a nice location. Near a Safeway in a small shopping center, meaning there's plenty of parking. The indoors setting is very nice. Had a salad that came with main special dishes.we ordered a couple micheladas which were delish.. A chile verde which my brother in law liked somewhat. We also ordered a carne asada and a couple of tostadas de ceviche. I was surprised that the carne asada was the first one to arrive to our table, since red meat usually takes longer to cook. Assumption was right! The meat was too hard. I'm a rosa tase de ceviche gal. It is my go to at any taqueria I walk into. The Obed served here; huge chunks of all shrimp, cucumbers, tomatoes and onions. Fine, I can eat big, but the flavor... Wait, there was no flavor. no sour taste not any bit salty, none. This was the sadest part. In general, there was no passion for the authenticity. Sorry, but I did not like the food. Overall, the service was great. Atentive and quick. read more

I highly recommend the Mahi-Mahi tacos with the Mango sauce. Fresh, savory, hint of sweetness and delicious! There's nothing on the menu that isn't delicious. I don't really get why this place has so many good reviews. The service was good, but the food was just horrible. I just moved here from Santa Rosa so maybe I have a higher expectation when it comes to Mexican food. I ordered nachos and my fiancé ordered a burrito. Both were so bland!
