Hit or miss I guess. I used to go to the other location before, the food is always good. They have a great variety of seafood, which is what I like. The aguachile is amazing, and i order it spicy , we love the burritos too, the chile verde is ! The old restaurant was crowded, they just recently moved to a bigger location, so I finally was able to go in today, the food again was great, but the service was slow, they hardly ever come to check on you to see if you need anything else, a lot of waiting. And I thought because it was a new location I was going to have fresh paint, but it looks dark and it was a little dirty, maybe because they have the old paint and booths from the old restaurant. My friends and I took a weekend trip to clearlake. We didn't know any restaurants in town so we ended up just browsing yelp and choosing this restaurant. We came on a saturday night around 7pm, several guests were in the restaurant but we were able to get seated right away. The decor was festive and colorful, in an inviting way. Right away, we were given free chips with salsa and beans! I ordered the garlic shrimp. It came with a side of either corn or flour tortillas. I really loved this dish! While it was a bit different than a usual garlic shrimp dish (very saucy and garlicky), I found this dish more subtle and clean. Personally, I liked it. It came with a large helping of grilled vegetables - onion, bell pepper, mushroom. Of course, the plate also included rice, beans, guac, salsa, sour cream, and a piece of fruit. I enjoyed my meal. My friend got the fajita plate that came with shrimp, chicken, beef, and a ton of mixed vegetables. Corn or flour tortilla. Also, a side plate of rice, beans, guac/ sour cream/ salsa. First of all the food really is some of my favorite Mexican food but the move to the new building feels off. The aesthetic they are trying for I can see but nothing is finished. None of the paint is finished anywhere, the old ugly booths need to go, and the restaurant is so choppy that if you get put in that back room to eat you feel isolated, not to mention the place is filthy especially the bathroom. The food was good. Unfortunately, my fajitas had a lot of onion skin in them. My husband's birra tacos were good. The service was slow, it took 10 min to get a drink order in, another 10 min to get the drinks, and then another 20ish minutes to get orders taken. We had to ask for things like sugar, and a high chair multiple times after our server walked past us doing other things. Our food took over an hour to get to us. We didn't get drinks refilled. Really authentic and "Delicious" food. Everything we had over the past few visits was worth sitting down and enjoying right there in the restaurant. (I love the refried beans) and always get some to go and make a few burritos at home. Everything is prepared fresh and they also serve Margaritas and such. Right now Jan /1/ 26 it closed pending a new location 1 block down the street sometime in the next couple of months. They have a similar restaurant in Middletown with the identical menu. We just came here for the first time today and the food is amazing. We got chicken enchiladas and a grilled chicken super burrito both were fantastic. The staff is very friendly and attentive. They only accept cash, Venmo, cash app or pay by clover scan and pay. Which was okay but we scanned the clover thing and it was trying to charge us for food we didn't even order. The waitress said that it was glitching and adding things, unplugged it and turned it back on.... However when it rebooted she went to our table in the program and deleted 2 items (which I am assuming is the 2 items that were apart of the glitch. Took awhile to get our drinks, one of the gals came and asked us what we wanted to drink about 5 mins after we got our chips and such. Then never came back... our waitress then came to take our order and asked what we asked for to drink. We said orange crush sodas but then she proceeded to tell us the fountain drinks were not working due to no CO2. (Again that was fine) so she asked if we wanted Pepsi, etc.. we both chose Pepsi (it was canned) Thinking because it was canned it might be cheaper because of the inconvenience of not having fountain sodas ... no they were $3.00 each. Beans with the chips were cold and chips were stale. They were not crazy busy and the service was very slow. this is a hard review to write because I actually like this restaurant and their food. however on this day it started rocky and just kept getting worse. it was a Sunday lunch time and k know they get busy so I expected the wait, they sat me and 2 kids in the bar section the server took a while to get our drink order and got that wrong, I specifically orders 2 sides of grilled chicken(plain) a kids order or grilled chicken and rice and camarones ala diabla. the food took a while but i understood because it was busy but then he brought my dish and a plate of Chicken and beans. so I repeated what I order for my kids and then 5 minutes later brought out only 1 side of plain chicken, I asked how long for the rest of the order and he said 1 minutes and so he brought out the other side of chicken and my other child did not get his food. it took them an additional 10 minutes to bring out the kids chicken and rice. while we were waiting, I tried plate and you can tell it was cold and must have been sitting there under the heat lamp. so when both of my kids got their food I told him that my food was cold and that if you can just remove it from check and i gave him the plate back. when He brought out the check, i Saw that he had ordered 2 full plates of chicken when i only ordered 2 sides of chicken and an order of chicken and rice. I will definitely still come back just not on a Sunday or will request to sit in another servers section. if the owners sees this review please do better, I know you can. especially in the cleanliness because that server kept piling on to the dirty table next to us. read more

My family LOVES the food here. We don't live around here but go every time we are in the area. We actually live somewhere with a large Latino community, but for some reason this place blows our local Mexican restaurants away. My wife loves the nachos and they don't skimp on the ingredients. This is the real deal Mexican restaurant. The building could certainly use a little polish on the exterior but that's my only criticism. Our waitress was very sweet and patient. The food came out quick, was nicely presented and very tasty. Apologies to everyone. When I appreciate a restaurant experience I begin a review immediately. Yelp just reminded me that I failed to finish this. The problem is, at this point I have almost no memory of this experience. Fortunately, there is a clue in my review. I almost never rate a restaurant five stars. When I do it means I highly recommend the establishment. My few words tell the story. Don't be put off by the building exterior. My husband and I kept raving about how great our orders were and how hard it is to pick what was best (although if push came to shove, I would pick the carnitas sope). We came on a Friday night, just as they were setting up Mexican karaoke indoors. The singers were all excellent, though the background music was blaring indoors. Love the artistic chairs and tables. Service can be a little on the slow side, as they definitely don't seem to have enough employees working for the number of customers they're attracting. However, they took the time to answer a lot of questions for me, so I appreciate that the service may be slower if they're spending more time with each patron. What a nice surprise! We were starving and decided to stop at this little hole in the wall. While it might not appear to be a restaurant from the outside but inside is a cute, brightly decorated sit down space. And the food was excellent! Loved the chips and salsa (plus they bring out beans that are amazing! We ordered the chile rellano, which my SIL raved about and I ordered the chicken fajitas which we both raved over. We Stopped by for lunch & i almost skipped it just by the appearance of the building but i am so glad we stopped!! Food was delicious. Camarones "chupate los dedos" was AMAZING. I also had the "enchiladas Michoacánas" with chicken instead of steak and they were so tasty! Along with my food i ordered a michelada which was so flavorful! The Service was great, the food did take a little on the longer side to come out but it was worth it. Price was not so bad there were 4 of us. We went Saturday 8/13/2022 Clearlake location. They accept credit cards. More parking in the back. They have outdoor and indoor seating. Food was good. Be sure to ask if the entree is spicy because description does not mention. I forgot the entree name, but it had shrimps, scallops, fish and mussels in red sauce. It was spicy, but tasty. It came as is, no rice and beans. This place serves seafood, but don't expect fresh from the ocean kind. We will be back to try other menu items. read more
