Holy cow. The existing reviews made me think this was an outstanding shop to have my Volvo worked on. I was not disappointed. Check engine light came on on Wednesday night. I called them the next morning when they opened, they got me in on Friday at 8am. Perfect. Chad, the main Volvo technician, told me they were slammed but at the very least he'd get me an estimate of the work needed by the end of the day. He called me at 3:30 on Friday, apologizing profusely that they'd need to keep it over the weekend, but he also very thoroughly explained what needed to be done, and it was a great relief to not have to worry over the weekend. These guys will not let you down. Fantastic people, valuable advice. Like your relative is telling you what to do with your car. They've could've sold me thousands of dollars of repairs if they tried. They charged me for an hour of labor, and I'm certain they had multiple techs working on it for a lot longer than that. I officially consider this place MY mechanic shop. They came highly recommended by a friend a while ago. Then again by someone completely different a couple years later. So when I needed work done on my VW Jetta, I finally checked them out. I've gone a few times now for a series of different services-- oil change, check engine light, once after a minor crash when the underside of my car needed work, got my AC fixed, etc.... In the past, I've had a lot of anxiety about getting car work done because I don't know enough to be a smart consumer. I'm always worried about being overcharged or charged for more than what I need. (As we all are!) But here, I fell 100% confident and safe. When my car AC was broken, they found the lowest cost option to fix it which was over $1000 less than what another place would have charged me. They also have a shuttle service that drops me off at work and picks me up after the work is done. Very friendly driver! All the staff is amazing, especially Tyler. I walk in, or call-- and they greet me by name and know who I am. Amazing customer service. I never want to or plan to go anywhere else. I'm just relieved to have found a place I can really TRUST. Ive had horrible experiences with VW dealerships beginning in 2008 when I bought a used Beetle that was "certified pre-owned" but had been in a wreck and needed expensive repairs to fix the emissions that the certified ore-owned warranty would not cover. I gave up on VW for a while but when I was searching for a new car and wanted a VW Tiguan, my coworker told me about Stuttgart and how they're much more pleasant than VW dealerships. Since then, I've taken my Volkswagen and now Audi to Stuttgart Autohaus. I'm used to my dad doing all of the maintenance on my vehicles so it's really nice that their staff always tell me what needs to be done, give me the price, timeframe of when it needs to be taken care of, and get me in expeditiously to take care of my cars. They are able to do all of the recommended/scheduled maintenance on my vehicles, with better customer service than the dealerships. I recently totaled my beloved 2016 Tiguan, which was the last year model made in Germany and a completely different car than the new ones made in Mexico. I wanted as close to that car as I could find and they really helped me out by doing a pre-sale inspection on my 2012 used Audi Q5 to make sure it did not have any problems. The oil plug was leaking but they got me in and got it fixed within a day. I felt very reassured buying an older model knowing that they inspected it. It's very easy to get an appointment, drop my car off, and pick it up when everything is done. They've always answered all of my questions related to repairs needed and do really good work that is very reasonably priced. read more

I had a GREAT experience with Revolvstore/Stuttgart fixing my Volvo this week. I took it in for weird sound, and they quickly diagnosed the problem and fully explained the fix. Even with a holiday in the mix, the had my car back to me quickly and UNDER the estimate. Both Mike and Chad were friendly, knowledgeable and willing to take the time to help me fully understand. When I had a new problem a few days after, not related to initial problem, Chad immediately made time for me and got the problem resolved quickly- and at no additional cost. I am blown away by the level of customer service, and will forego the dealership in favor of Stuttgart moving forward. What happened with my vehicle there was initially not....awesome. And I will say this: I communicated with them about it and the owner took complete responsibility and made it right. Immediately. He insisted on it. Note: you should know that many shops rightly charge for diagnosis and apply that to the repair. This one does not. Diagnosis is diagnosis and all after that is seoarate. No one has a 100% perfect record all.the time every time. Not possible. And how they show up when things go sideways? That's who you know you can trust. It would be my strong recommendation to always ask clarifying questions, in writing when possible: Is this necessary for the issue I came in for? Why suggest this repair? And....I respect the professionalism and skill of the owner greatly. I think the shop probably does good work. read more

I have had major work done by them before and it was very well done. On time and on budget. It was not only done less expensively than the dealership but it was done better in my opinion. But it is the little things that show you where a businesses' heart is. I had a headlight go out. It is a little thing and certainly not something that is going to pay the rent for them. Access to the bulb was awkwardly placed so it was not something I wanted to jump into. Despite the fact that they were very very busy they got me in, replaced my headlight and got me on my way while I waited. They absolutely did not have to do this, particularly in these difficult times. In my opinion you can trust them to do quality work, at a reasonable price and give you honest advice about your car. We had a fuel issue on our 2014 Passat and after having several people including the VW dealership in Tucson looked at it we were told they did not know what the issue was. Stuttgart got the problem fixed and reasonably priced in the first 24 hours they had the vehicle...2 weeks later and no issues. They offered a warranty on their service and called to follow-up. Gary Vroegh (owner) and his team at Stuttgart Autohaus are some of the nicest and most honest mechanics in the business. Not only as a shop are they direct and have their customer's best interests in mind, but Gary personally went above and beyond to make sure I wasn't getting taken advantage of by the Fletcher Jones VW dealership service department in Chicago, IL. To preface this review -- I no longer live in Tucson, AZ otherwise I would have taken my 2001 VW Jetta directly to Stuttgart Autohaus and saved myself a lot of hassle. My story... My Jetta was serviced at Stuttgart Autohaus in October 2013 in preparation for making a cross country drive to Chicago, IL which is where I now live. The car made the drive fine, but upon arrival in the city the check engine light came on. Initially I took it to a Bosch Certified auto body shop in the city, and was told that my computer system simply needed software updates, which unfortunately could only be done at the dealership. I then took the car to Fletcher Jones VW in Chicago to have a diagnosis done ($160...yikes) and they failed to fully diagnose the problem. They suggested several things that might be the cause of the issue, and sent me an estimate for $3300 worth of repairs they claimed I needed done. Gary, having recently seen my car, knew that almost everything on the estimate was unnecessary. Of the items on the estimate, the only repair that warranted being done was replacing a cracked vacuum booster pipe, which Gary believes would solve the check engine light & cylinder misfire problem. Gary went above and beyond by: 1. Reading through my entire estimate from VW. 2. Calling my mother, who still lives in Tucson, to explain the issues directly to her. 3. Looking up the VW direct list price for the part I needed (vacuum pipe) which only costs $116, and advising me that I shouldn't pay more the $300 total with labor. 4. Being so outraged that he called my VW service rep directly to discuss the estimate. 5. Contacting the Bosch auto body shop I had originally gone to, explaining what I needed done, giving them the part number, and telling them they could contact him any time if they needed help with the repair process. 6. Unfortunately, this place has fallen from grace since Ed (the original owner, German) retired. We had to take our Highlander back approx 5 times to fix the SAME problem. On the last round, they got a rental car for us, but to make a long story short (and not really their fault), we ended up paying $500 extra because the rental got damaged - hell of an expensive "free" rental. If we hadn't had to take the car back so many times, we never would have had that rental. The guys are very nice and honest but service is incompetent. We won't be going back. read more

If you have a Volkswagen or Audi, this is the place to get your car repaired! They are every bit as competent as the dealer, and since Chapman took over you could say Stuttgart is *more* competent than the dealer! They will do some general maintenance on other brands, even Japanese, but their main specialty is VW/Audi. They are always fast and friendly, and costs are reasonable. They have a comfortable waiting room with coffee and popcorn available. They also provide a shuttle service that is prompt and courteous. This shop is honest and locally owned. In fact, I have never been in and not seen the owner there. Most times he stops to personally greet me. After 7 years of patronage, I guess it's time to finally give them a review. I really want to like this mechanic. But unfortunately after several visits I cannot recommend them. I recently had a major repair (new transmission) and it was an absolute nightmare. To begin with, it took over 3 weeks to get done. The new transmission was sent to Phoenix for some reason. Secondly, they replaced parts without my permission. I would have consented to the replacement, but I would appreciate being called before a $200 repair was done. Third, they didn't even wash my car after having it for 3 weeks and telling me that they would wash it. Also, the actual cost was about 20% higher than the estimate. I hope that I can find another VW shop in Tucson that will restore my faith in independent auto shops. On the upside, when I did have interactions with the Autohaus, they were nothing short of friendly and seemed like they wanted to do their best to help me. read more

I don't understand the negative reviews here. I own a VW Jetta TDI and am a VERY, VERY picky owner. And I mean really picky. I drive my car about 120 miles a day, round trip to Ft. Huachuca, and cannot tolerate anything less than a good running vehicle. I know my car and meticulously maintain my diesel VW and expect that anyone servicing it know exactly what they are doing and provide excellent service at a reasonable price. Stuttgart Autohaus has won me over, and I continue to take my car there over and over again. Gary (the owner) is a good Christian guy and cares about the quality of his shop's work and the customer's satisfaction. These folks are spectacular and I highly recommend them. read more
