Oscar and the other staff were very helpful and kind. I brought my car in for A/C inspection and they're very honest and transparent about what had to be done. First time getting car maintenance in Tucson and I definitely recommend this shop. Also prices are very reasonable. Thank you for all your help. read more

It's been about a month since Oscar replaced my rear rotors, and my car has been running great ever since. Everyone was incredibly helpful throughout the process. I really appreciated that they didn't add any arbitrary fees, unlike some of the other quotes I received. They were able to get me in quickly, and the replacement was completed in just one day. Overall, I had a great experience! read more

I went in to get my thermostat replaced. As I drove away they call me asking why my car doesn't start. Turns out they broke my ignition switch. They replaced it but later down the road my car started running strange and the battery kept dieing. So I started wondering what I lt could be. Turns out they beat the bolts in in my steering collom to my ignition switch. The switch looked like it was busted and banged up also. And when I picked up my car there was sap all over my hood ruining my paint . Never go here unless you want to pay for your car to be worse than it already is.!!! read more

Have often gone to Advantage for repairs on a variety of cars, mine and my unmaintained girl friends' cars. With pronto and accurate diagnostics of mechanical issues it was always an affordable and agreeable outcome. Oscar is a top notch mechanic and all the guys that work for him are experienced mechanics who do a first class job. read more

No no no no no no no no no.......!!! Five stars, duh. Oscar is the best. I travel 30 minutes across town to have him fix my cars. I will reiterate that he gives an honest estimate, gives honest repairs (because he wants you as a repeat customer), and is one of the nicest guys around. One time I took my car in for him to analyze my AC and he even topped off my motor oil. His door sign and his website says he opens at 8:30, but he really opens at 9:00. I've told Yelp this, but they just don't want to update the business info with that for whatever reason. Oh, yeah, parting thought--not only is his shop honest, but his shop is competent, too. Gets the job done right and in due time. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs! read more

Oscar and his staff repair autos for a fair price and don't charge you for things you don't need like most auto repair places. They are always busy, which validates their worth to the community. Be sure to make an appointment. A proud and valued sponsor of my 520 Sports Talk Show. read more

Mr. Oscar is fair, honest and trust worthy. I purchased a car for my daughter in law and Oscar did great work. We had a few hiccups because it's an old one but what I loved, It was not a surprise to me. Oscar problem solves and he and the mechanics here we're definitely a God sent to our family. I am married to a mechanic and what he thought were the issues were exactly what Advantage found after checking it. I am excited I found a mechanic and a shop that puts community first, stand by his repairs and will fix it. Be kind to your mechanic, especially if you have an old car- I am glad we did! You will not find another mechanic shop in Tucson that leads with this much Integrity behind their work. And...they give back to the community!!! read more

Poor service ripped off my mom with her AC would not recommend!! just in it for money, not willing to correct the issue- unable to properly diagnose. taking advantage of the elderly !!! read more

I was in a pickle driving from San Diego to St. Louis. Car was acting funny and we stopped here because of the good reviews. Oscar, the owner, looked over our car and told us exactly what we needed. His shop closes at 530 and he and his assistant stayed and got our car repaired AFTER HOURS. He could have told us to come back tomorrow (Saturday) but he didn't. He charged us a fair price. Oscar is the most honest mechanic and owner I have ever met. I highly recommend him and his store. read more

Brought my car in with an obvious radiator leak and AC that has not worked in months. Not only did they call me multiple times and let me know what the issues were. they were super helpful getting me signed up with the finance company. They were done before the day was over and even gave me an oil change! My AC has never blown colder in the whole time I've had this car! Everyone was so nice and considerate from the nice lady at the office to the hands on mechanic in the back. This was our 1st time here and we will definitely be back. read more

I stopped taking my car to the dealership! These guys are amazing, it's like taking my car to a very knowledgeable family member who knows how to do things right. I live in California and Arizona and the best I can find in both states! Sadly after Covid some businesses lost value, these people are special and deserve an award for being awesome! No more dealer and hello Oscar and his team! read more

Took my vehicle in to advantage auto for brakes/rotors, amongst other concerns. They were able to get me in quickly and addressed all the needs of my vehicle. One of the services I thought my vehicle needed ended up actually not needing to be done. They had enough integrity and honesty to tell me this rather than to just do it and charge me for it. I appreciate this, and will certainly recommend them to anyone I know, and return to them for any needs that I have. They also completed an air conditioning repair to my vehicle several years ago, and it has been working perfectly since. Full 5 star review here! read more

When my guy closed up his shop after 25 years, I was in mechanis panic mode. After searching I found Oscar. He always has a crew of mechanics, and they are always busy. He always answers his phone and is accommodating to needs and emergencies which says alot about his character and business integrity. My driver side window regulator broke in triple digit weather. They replaced the part, but the van would not talk to it for programming. All of the guys chimed in to help get it to work. It was stubborn, however they did get it working. The driveway might be tight to get into, but it is well worth the extra drive around the block to get in. Thanks Guys! read more

The reviews are not lying, they are great! I called early in the morning for an impromptu bumper fix, even though they don't do auto body repairs, I was desperate, it was a Saturday, and needed someone reliable who wouldn't scam me. They took me in despite body repairs not being their thing and were honest about the final product not being pretty. But that was fine with me because I just wanted my bumper to not fall off. Well they did it in about half an hour, functional repair, only $40! Did not judge me at all either for being a young female with typical bumper issues lol. I will be back for oil changes, AC fixes, anything they ACTUALLY specialize in :) read more

I have brought my car to Oscar for 2 years now and I can say that I totally trust him and highly recommend him. He always takes times to explain in detail what was done and he is one of the most honorable mechanics I ever had. To sum it up, he is a good person. I also have to give credits to the guys that work for him. They have always done a good job for me. Earlier this year I had to replace a couple tires on my SUV. Talked with Oscar about it and he told me I had an alignment issue. I was surprised that he'd invested in one of the top-line 4 wheel computerized alignment systems and had a workshop separate from his Ft Lowell & Stone shop. Since I'd had him replace my timing belt kit, radiator & starter (all are still working great), he'd earned my trust for challenging problems with my vehicle. It's been about a year and a half since these services & it's still running real smooth. Recently I noticed weird wear on my tires (front more than back) and talked with him about it. He recommended a 4 wheel computerized alignment with his new equipment so I gave it a go. The result is awesome! It no longer pulls to the left which pissed me off and ground down the tread. I use my vehicle for both personal and business. Without Advantage Auto I'd probably replace it with a lease. With my use it's better economically to keep it working well rather than replace it. Without Oscar's team I might not have that choice. Thanks Oscar !!! Bert Ratia read more

I have been here a few times and have always been impressed with their honest, trustworthy service. One time it was for my A/C, and most recently for my brakes. I appreciate the free diagnosis, quality of work, and how Oscar (the owner) is always present to explain things in detail to me. I trust them and recommend them. Thank you. * Lucy * read more

Went in this morning and they were super helpful! Couldn't start my car and when I took it to them, they were able to get it running in ten minutes once they looked at it. Very professional and everyone seemed busy working on one car or another and genuinely invested in helping their customers. Definitely plan to go back in the future if I need anything else. Great experience. Glad a friend referred me to them. read more

-100 stars for this place!! I don't know if it's because I'm a female or what but I paid several hundred dollars for them to repair my alternator as I live 1400 miles away and need to get my small kids home. The manager promised me all was good and testing okay and not to worry I was covered with worry free warranty so God forbid anything happens we are covered. Low and behold 200 miles later my car dies on the freeway. Get it to a mechanic within the worry free warranty network and BAM no freaking warranty. These people blatently lied to my face!!! And put my family in danger with their crappy service. Thankfully the company who supplied the part made things right and covered the repair but anyone who lives in tucson., DO NOT CHOOSE ADVANTAGE AUTO REPAIR read more

I had my Taurus transmission worked on by Advantage Auto repair. Their repair costs are average (no bargain). I had the pump shaft (splines replaced) for $700. The parts and transmission oil cost $100, the labor was $600 for a 4-5 hr job, they had R remove & replace the transmission to get at the broken part. Oscar did explain what the repairs entailed. He quoted the repair cost of $250 to $700 . I wasn't impressed with the cost. I would rate them average. It's tough to find auto repair shops that are fair, they have you over a barrel and they know it. read more

My whole family has been taking our cars to Oscar (owner) for years. He has never failed to deliver great work, done quickly, for a very competitive price. It's been a long time since I've gotten quotes from alternative auto shops, because every time Advantage Auto is significantly less and the work has never suffered from this. There is a reason Oscar's lot is always full! As busy as he is he rarely misses a call and responds to texts and calls quickly. 6/5 stars! read more

I have been on the hunt for an affordable honest repair shop that is truly full service. This shop is quick, professional, affordable, and the parts trucks are on site with your new parts in minutes. No giant mark up on parts either, that was amazing. Oscar the owner is hands on and his auto technicians are some of the most knowledgeable and professional around. I drive a high mileage truck and van, Advantage Auto Repair will be the only place I take my vehicles in the future. read more

Sorry for the first review posted, I didn't know how it works. Oscar is very nice, friendly and knowledgeable of what he is doing. I came back and asked for his services because of a gesture of kindness and respect he showed me the first time I stopped by and desperately asked for help. read more

We took our 2003 Corolla there yesterday with a broken trunk that would not latch. Despite it being very busy, Oscar had a mechanic immediately take a look at it. Door window broke after work on a Friday. Called Saturday morning and Oscar said he'd have to see if the part was available and he'd call me back. He did call me back unlike almost every other mechanic and quoted me a reasonable price. Dropped it off at 10am and it was done by 2:30, I was blown away. And he didn't try to change the price. 10/10 would recommend! read more

I have been bringing my cars here for about five or six years. They always get me right in, and the work is solid and reasonably priced. I used to call around and get quotes, but they came in the lowest every time so I no longer bother. Very trustworthy shop with quick turnaround time. read more

I researched the best repair shops in Tucson then narrowed it down to Advantage because Oscar gave me the lowest quote for an alternator repair and suggested CAM-L towing (also was a pleasure to work with and good flat rate). Turns out it wasn't the alternator and I got out of the shop sooner than I thought paying less than I expected to! Oscar runs an honest business at an affordable cost and I would definitely recommend and return to Advantage for all my car repair needs. read more

Oscar is the owner here, and he is the first mechanic I have ever fully trusted. He is honest, affordable, and does quality work. I found him about 4 years ago, needing my ac fixed in a 97 Jeep Cherokee. They fixed it for significantly less than other places. Since then, I have sold my jeep and gotten a new car (he helped coach me through the selling process). I have continued coming to him with problems I have come across in my new car. Multiple times I have dropped in before a road trip and Oscar checks out my car (no charge). Oscar is fantastic and I highly recommend trying this place!!! Oscar and his team have been honest, timely and priced fairly time and time again. I have taken multiple cars there to be worked on, and sent family members there as well. The customer service is always great. You do have to call, sometimes multiple times, to check and see how things are going and ask when the car will be ready, but I feel that it is worth it when you are getting quality car care. read more

This is the best shop in town to have your car repaired. Honesty, great work, customer satisfaction and integrity are paramount at Advantage! Today, I took my car to Oscar and his crew to have my O2 sensor replaced and to have the AC repaired in my 2006 PT Cruiser Convertible, given that it was 93 degrees today in AZ. My car was fixed and ready to roll within 90 minutes. Oscar explained the repair to me in detail, which was extremely helpful. I will never let another shop touch my car!!! Note: I took my car to another shop last weekend and they couldn't fix the AC and they suggested I bring it back so they can work on it ALL DAY!! These guys fixed both issues quickly! Hats off to a great team of mechanics!! Professional and affordable!! read more
