Reinholt Tree Care

Reinholt Tree Care

I have more than two dozen elderly, dying, rotten cottonwood trees that are in need of trimming and in one case, entire removal. Chris is equipped with the type of trucks and heavy machinery to do the job. His estimates and pre-approval are that of a pro. So glad I found him. Highly recommend.

He recently removed a dying ash tree for me that was right next to my sunroom (lots of potential shattered glass) and leaning over my roof. Chris does maintenance cabling/trimming on a neighbor's huge bracket backyard cottonwood tree and removed two huge cottonwoods for my next door neighbor last year, so he was highly recommended. Pricing was also very manageable; of about 7 total quotes, Reinholt was among the less expensive group that was willing to remove the tree by climbing rather than with a crane. I delayed the job by about 6 months from the time I got the quotes and had some communication misses when I went to reinstate contact, but we cleared that up painlessly. Chris showed up with a crew of 4 guys. Within 90 minutes the tree was down and they'd cleaned up and moved on to the next job. Everyone was polite, mindful of the landscaping and they definitely left the area cleaner than they found it. They brought what looked like 3/4 or full inch-thick sheets of plywood to protect the windows and left no damage. As a female homeowner with no "man of the house" contractors can be challenging, but Chris is not one of those and I definitely recommend him.

From other estimates this price was a joke. I feel like they did not want to do it, which would have been fine. This will make me reluctant to ever refer them.

The reason I'm writing a review as someone who chose not to employ this company is WHY I chose not to employ this company. I am a single female homeowner and did not at any time feel like John was listening to or respecting my requests for the job (leave a stump, leave trunk wood in firewood lengths, no grinding, dump chipped branches on the driveway). The quote that I received included none of my job requests which further concerned me that if I hired them, my desires would not be honored. The quote was not the highest but was four times the amount quoted by companies that were willing to remove the tree by climbing - of which there were many. I ended up having the tree removed and my requests honored for 25% of the cost quoted by St Vrain, so I recommend making sure you quote multiple companies for your job. I also caution against using this company as a single woman; bring your handyman, dad, brother, son, whatever to repeat your requests so they're actually heard.

Very unprofessional ordeal. We cooperated with our neighbors to have their dying tree removed as it…read morewas overhanging our property. Neighbors insisted on HH. We made it clear that the tree would not be accessible from our property due to structure layout and our own ongoing work, and the day of we received a call demanding we move our storage pod, construction material, and machinery from our own driveway to facilitate their access, and were threatened with fees otherwise. We refused their unreasonable request and they relented. They left the remains of the tree on the public roadway for several days. We later received a phonecall when we were out of town demanding same day payment, and strongarming us into paying by credit card over the phone as they absolutely could not wait until the end of the month, nor even for our return. Weeks later we received a bill from the crane operator stating that HH had not paid them despite listing crane operation fees in the original bid. They then sent us a *doctored* copy of the form with a low quality typed text box copied and pasted over their handwriting stating that crane fees were not included and would be billed separately. We will be keeping the original carbon copy for our records. Complete clown show. Avoid at all costs!
