Our first bid was for $3,200 dollars ($1,600/piece) to have it removed because a crane would have to lift the branches and logs over one of our houses. My neighbor had heard of this tree service called Better Branches who claimed they could cut it down by hand. At first I was very skeptical. It was a huge tree with branches extending into 3 different yards. The price was much affordable for us, so we decided to let Better Branches do the work. Justin, who climbed the tree we lovingly nicknamed the "tree squirrel". He was very meticulous with every branch he cut to make sure it was not going to land on a structure. When it came to cutting the tree itself he was even more meticulous. A neighbor asked him what was taking him so long and his response was "I don't want to damage a sprinkler head". It took a while for it to be cut but that was ok with us. We were in no hurry. I don't mean by months but by just a few weeks, only working on weekends. The neighbors thought it was quite miraculous that Justin cut the tree himself and had his brother and son on the ground to lower down the pieces. After he was done, we asked him if he would cut down a Mountain Ash that was growing crooked in our yard. For $20.00 he cut that too and hauled it away. The crew even swept the top of our shed off where much of the saw dust had fallen. We could have paid the $3,200 to have it done in a day and branches and large pieces of tree swung over our house with a crane. But Better Branches did an AWESOME job at a fraction of the price. What they do is an art. Justin, if you have an arborist on staff, we need help with our Linden Tree in the front. We would highly recommend them.

It was about an hour from the time I placed the call, to when Jerry had eradicated the stumps in our backyard. We had tried to kill them with chemicals, but with kids and a dog we just didn't feel comfortable with them back there. The best part is he exudes a nice guy feeling. He seemed honest and straight forward. We have had lots of work done on multiple houses, and sometimes just the people aspect can be exhausting.
