If you are asking your self if you should stop by this game shop the answer is and should always be yes. I visited the store on a whim because I have never been there before and I was very happy with my experience. The store smelled clean and amazing. I didn't even see dust on the merch inside the glass cabinets. If the items are on hold they are labeled clearly so you can see. They have a cool little sword collection in the back. (not very big) I asked to see the Link replica sword that they were selling for $140. She happily showed it to me but I couldn't hold it until I bought it. Lol it made sense. I wouldn't want a breath of the wild enthusiast wielding links sword in my shop either. Hahaha. All in all this shop was a joy to go to. Spent 30 min in the store. They have every Genre of games that you could think of. I didn't see Atari but I could be wrong. Games and consoles dating back the the 80's opened and still packaged games. Everything you would ever need to get that nostalgic kick of adrenaline. Thanks for the experience:) read more

Found this place by chance while visiting a friend nearby. This place has a lot of interesting games but gives weird vibes. For starters the door is locked and you have to be let in via a Ring doorbell. They lock the door behind you which I feel is a fire hazard. Maybe the area is not safe? When you ask the price for a product on a shelf, they will ask you about your knowledge of the item. It felt like they were trying to feel out how much they could charge for it and less like small talk about the item. When I asked about some items in the glass case, the female worker said "Oh I just brought those out from the back, I totally forgot about them we're cleaning up the back, we have so much stuff back there!" Friendly but they took a long time to look up the price on them and got mildly offended when offered a little less to buy two items given that they allegedly were clearing inventory. It's odd to get sensitive about being given a counteroffer for stuff you just said you forgot about? I offered a little less than what they looked up, and they were rude about it, making snide comments behind fake smiles. They made comments like "We can't sell them any lower, we have to feed the homeless." At that point I wasn't interested in buying anything. The male working there unlocked the door to let us out and made comments about how his preference is selling online and how he hates selling to people and dealing with people. Definitely an unwelcoming experience. I wouldn't come back here. read more

I went to check out their Anniversary Sale, the store was popping and all like any regular day. Later on within the day, I buy some things from Steven, the store owner, and I noticed that I was a dollar short on change, and I didn't think much of it, but what concerned me was the fact that he didn't even tell me ahead of time. And after I confronted him about it, he lashes out at me saying in his own words: "Dude, I be giving you free shit. Now I'ma start taxing you." Now let me make things clear: 1) Steven only taxes his customers when they pay with credit/debit card, and he NEVER applies the tax when customers pay with cash. That is what he clearly stated based on his store policy the day I started shopping at the Torrance location. 2) His wife, who is the co-owner of the store, is kind enough to give customers free plushies, stickers, snacks. As much as I can't say no because it would be wrong of me to decline, he can't use his wife's kindness as leverage and lash his anger at me when I don't even ask her to give me anything; she obliges to do that on her own free will. As much as I thought the guy was cool, his outburst gave me a whole new perspective on his personality. He unfortunately lost me as a customer as I supported his store for years, but now that's come to an end. I hope one day he learns from this as being this rude and obnoxious to ANY of your loyal customers (and yes I say loyal because I'm one of those loyal customers who has been supporting his Torrance location ever since it relocated), is just gonna drive them away. What sucks now I'll have to find a new game store to buy my Legend of Zelda collection. Steven, as a former friend to another, you truly have broken my spirit, and can no longer make my commitment of ever visiting Stuff 4 Geekz, which I always made it a reliable trip for my everyday collecting. I visited this store and inquired about some of the games as an uneducated (in gaming) visitor. The staff, who I believe are the owners were really nice. They seemed more concerned with matching the right games with my specific needs than making a sale. They were never pushy or aggressive in trying to convince me what they had was what I needed in any instance. They made efforts to identify the right games and for that reason, I give them a * * * * * Five Star, GREAT review. Parking is easy in the lot too. read more

My wife and I found this place while in Torrance and I gotta say we were not impressed. It started when we got to their location and had to be let inside and the door locked behind us, which made us super uncomfortable. The staff were also very pushy and their pricing was all over the place. My wife was offered a binder of Animal Crossing amiibo cards and told that they each $10 each. She found one that she wanted and immediately the employee pulled up eBay and decided that one was ACTUALLY $35. The employee also offered us some Pokémon blind box figures for a mediocre deal because "they were in a selling mood." We ended up picking up a few small things, and they were super pushy about us following them on Instagram and wanting to post us and our purchase as content for them, which we declined. It was a super off-putting experience and based on their behavior on Google I assume I'll get called some nasty names and a thief in response to my review but I want to let people know what kind of experience they're in for coming here. There are much better spots in the area that you're better off going to. read more

If you follow their Instagram; you'll know that this husband and wife duo know how to run an enthusiast game shop! I've visited Steve's shop when at other locations as he and his wife were trying to find their perfect place to grow and I believe they've found it! Wow.... what a neat shop! Now, his shop is impressive in terms of variety and you will find something for just about every tier of literal geek! I myself have quite the collection ranging from 3DO, Jaguar, Playstation development systems to imported Japanese coin op arcade music games like Drummania and this dude STILL has an inventory that can oftentimes leave me drooling haha. I've found a Sega MegaJet in box, Blazing Star for Neo Geo AES and Wonderswan games! If you're looking for rare and uncommon treasures then you owe it to yourself to check em out! Be warned, some of his treasures can be greatly sought after and the prices aren't so much dictated by Steve but mostly by the children of back then such as myself now coming into money desperately trying to procure their childhood.... be prepared to spend ;) read more

Holy hell, I got up sold today like no other.....let's go back to the end of 2020, we were informed of this place by another video game store. During the end of the world, we broke out the original nintendo/SNES/GameCube for the boys. In particular we were looking for NHL 95 for SNES. We were told they take old games for purchase or credit and said we would be back. Came back today with a handful of games to trade in. Owner was very pleasant to work with and straight up. Offer x amount for cash and credits. We were looking at getting one game, and then it happened...."are you aware of our game stick, it has 2000 games!!". Telling my son we were getting up sold and explaining the process....once I heard it was all arcade games I asked if it had one in specific and if it did, the odds of me buys went up by 30%. The game, WWF wrestlefest. He wound up plugging it I. And giving a test run of this console and it had the one game that instantly took my back to being ten years old. He then added my initial game that I wanted to buy was on there, and I didn't even care about that game anymore. Used the store credit, paid the balance and took the thing home. Wound up showing the boys a whole new world of old games and they are in love. Playmce is amazing and owners are super cool. My initial inclination was to not actually say anything and move on, but if everyone has something to say, most likely it is their fault, there's something going on underneath the surface. I knew about this place since their Galleria days and actually started to participate at their events but for some reason and dumb business moves later... the owner Steve started to lash out on those who didn't feel were "loyal enough" His wife Susan, shes as professional as she can be. And the moment I started to engage in what I felt were meaningful conversation with Steve. I felt no connection with him, just an aggressive "I know better than you vibe" in his angry arm crossing stance It's a competing field with gaming and I don't think I have to specifically stay loyal to this store especially when there are always better offers out there for those who take the time to hunt. read more

Been all over the bay and beyond, this is one of the best old games stores. They sell private collections, and I've seen inventory change daily. The selection and pricing is good and includes pretty much every major retro system. It's not a big store, but it's packed with treasure. The pair that runs it know their stuff. They buy if your old games work, and watching them turn something down because something went wrong first try gave me hope that they really only sell quality stuff. They tested everything we bought in front of us to confirm it runs. They clean everything out in the back room. They're nice and can make recommendations if you're shopping for a friend. My new favorite place to nerd out! But honestly, they have so much stuff ranging from games, consoles, figurines, accessories, etc. In addition to unique merchandise that is hard to find anywhere! The staff/owners are wonderful people that have a great passion for games and anime. They are closed Wednesdays by the way to restock on new inventory for the week. I will definitely come back again! Before, I didn't see much of a reason to support small video game stores compared to Target or Best Buy. I see why cause of this couple. This husband and wife team welcomed everyone very warmly and really cared about each individual. The store looks very nice since they moved stuff around this week. They were extremely understanding of me wanting to sell a lot of my old collection cause I was moving. I wanted my things to go to people that would actually enjoy them. I truly believe that this store will help find those people that will have as much fun playing those games as I did, and hopefully more. Definitely go visit and support this business! read more

will not recommend at all. i went a few times, spent a lot of money with them. bought over 10 systems and a ton of games threw out a few visits. then one day i was blocked on there instagram, i went a few more times to basically being treated like nothing. a bunch of additude and just felt uncomfortable being in the store i had to leave. then i started seeing i wasn't the only one they treated this bad they have done this to a bunch of people in the gaming community. they don't like when people go shop at other locations. do not come here they give little to no credit also. and they market higher than usual on certain things. go to toys of the universe or retrorespawn read more
